Normally I design new monsters on the DM board. However, I found the Canderella thread useful and this is something I'm entirely making for Iddy. It's also the sort of thing I might stall out on and not finish for ages, so this will hopefully prevent that. So I'm going to do it out here on a whim. Feel free to comment as I work, but bear in mind it is a work in progress.

Base creature is 96 hit dice, which is much too high. 40ish? Do quick homework on constructs, they're always over hit diced. Gut says 45. Putting 45 for now.

Unable to be awakened? Much of its power may hinge on being uninfluence-able. Not just against spells with its traits, but against fast talking and the like. Maybe a trait that changes if the vault's awakened. It is kind of a nerf on Afina's MO, though it's one here that makes sense to me. I'll decide after the basics are done, it's an easy change if I make it.

Needs more spice to its defenses and offense, not quite sure now. Need to sit down and work on it, as well as the trait that really makes it an epic monster. That will be defensive since it's primarily a defensive creature in concept.

Attack roll and damage numbers don't really need to be stellar, just vaguely passable.

DR's higher than its hit dice warrant on purpose. Defensive based, may add a third component to it (bludgeoning) later. Fast healing for sure. Getting all the trimmings with defense. Immunity to acid and sonic, since they're the most likely elements to be used to dissolve the vault's walls. High end but it's a high end epic construct so whatever. Fast healing is 1/2 hit dice.

3.0 or 3.5 magic immunity?

Vault's treasure is a way to reinforce and reward the hoarding type that makes it, and also feed into it.

Constructed Toughness (Ex)

A living vault gains toughness and epic toughness as bonus feats. It gets maximum hit points per hit die.

Imprisonment (Su)

A living vault can capture opponents and hoard them just as its owner hoards treasure within it. Whenever the vault successfully established a grapple on a creature, it may immediately attempt to imprison them within itself. A DC

The save DC is Strength based.

Vault's Treasure (Ex)

The living vault can benefit from a few magical items stored within it. The vault can benefit from any magical items within it as it it were wearing them, with the following exceptions. It cannot use weapons or armor, even if they are properly sized for a colossal creature. It cannot use any magical items that require an action to use, it can only items with passive, always active effects, such as a ring of deflection.

Note that multiple items granting the same bonus do not stack, even of the bonus granted is normally able to stack with itself. The magic vault's magic immunity special quality does not interfere with magical items used through this ability, they function normally.

The vault presented here does not benefit from any items.
