IN the hopes of revitalizing the discussion on this board a bit (plus out of sheer curiosity) what are you guys been watching lately? What's good? What's bad? Is there anything you feel is a must see?

Right now my favorite picks for the season are are toss up between Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl Who Leaped Through Space) and the new Season of Hajime no Ippo (Fighting Spirit). Three episodes in and the first has a lot of the things I loved so much about the Mai franchise minus the flubs that Otome made (so far). Also, listening to Jun Fukuyama voice the crazy AI with his Lelouch voice makes me laugh every time he shows up.

As for Ippo, I was worried. It has been a while since the last series aired and I wasn't certain I'd be able to get into the show again. What if they changed the art style? Or worse, the fight direction? I don't know why but I kept thinking they were going to start using crazy CG effects that would ruin the mood. I need not have worried. Ten seconds into the opening and I was transported right back to the old days. The music, the animation, the hilariously crude jokes; they were all there. I don't know how many years it has been since I saw that last fight of the last season but it feels like I saw it yesterday.

Oh, but one important thing has changed. I'm now watching it in HD on my 46" samsung.

ALL! HAIL! HD!

GLORIOUS, GLORIOUS HD!

Man I'm slow.  And yeah, high five there panda.  Same.

Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo eh....  I'll have to watch.

I've been following the new slayers and the new Ippo.  I actually 'got into' the series right before the new one started, so it was 'hey, there's more, awesome...keep going'.  :)

Ippo.  :)

I picked it up maybe around the time of ep 1 of the new season.

Totally at random.  I was just "I'll give it a watch."

Became an instant fave.

Heh. I started watching the first run right when all the subbers dropped it. Had to wait a looong time for the us distributor to catch up. And then when I finally have just about enough funds to buy it? Genion goes out of business.
