- Lesser Deflect: Immediate action, gain +1 deflect AC/3 levels (max +5) versus one attack.
- Dimension Hop: Touch to teleport creature (Will negates) 5 feet/2 levels within unoccupied line of sight.
- Sure Strike: Swift action, gain +1 attack/3 levels for 1 round or until discharged in an attack.
- Energy Aegis: Immediate action, gain energy resistance 20 versus one attack.

- Rouse: Wakes all creatures within 10 ft radius.
- Whelm: Target takes 1d6 nonlethal damage + 1d6/2 levels (max 5d6, Will negates).
- Blinding Color Surge: Blind one creature (Will negates) and gain invisibility for 1 round/level.
- Stay the Hand: Immediate action, creature cannot attack or target caster with spells for remainder of round (Will negates). Creature can re-direct attack or spell meant to target caster, but takes -4 attack penalty or forces Concentration check (DC 15 + spell level).
- Vertigo: Target must make Balance check (DC 10) or lose move action (Will disbelief). If fails by 5 or more, fall prone. Suffers -2 penalty to attack and saves while active. 1 round/level.
- Whelming Burst: 30 ft cone-shaped burst, targets take 1d6 nonlethal damage/2 levels (max 5d6, Will negates).
- Crown of Veils: +2 competence bonus to Disguise/Hide; discharge for +8 bonus to one check. Takes headgear slot. 1 hour/level.
- Halt: Immediate action, target immediately loses move action and all movement for 1 round (Will negates).
- Inevitable Defeat: Target takes 3d6 nonlethal damage per round. No save for first round, Will save negates and ends effect. 1 round/level.
- Legion of Sentinels: Summons incorporeal swordfighter in every square within 10 ft radius; can share space with other creatures. Swordfighters threaten adjacent squares and can make one AOO/round, do not hinder movement or block anything, and can flank. HP equal to caster level x 2 and AC 25, saves equal to caster level. 1 round/level.
- Vertigo Field: 20 ft radius illusion creates difficult terrain, causes 20% miss chance on attacks (through or inside area of effect), creatures inside become nauseated for 1 round (Fort negates, and disables that effect for creature; allies are not affected).
- Greater Mirror Image: Immediate action, like mirror image except gain 1 image/round (max 8). 1 minute/level or until all images destroyed.
- Mass Whelm: As whelm, except one creature/level and deals 1d6 nonlethal damage/level (max 10d6, Will negates).
- Phantom Battle: 20 ft radius illusion disables AOOs and causes victims to be flanked (Will negates).

1d8+7+5d6 shocking grasp (avg 29). PA is obviously variable (usually from +2 to +8 damage, depending on how much I'm willing to gimp my attack). Successful charges increase damage by a good spike.

How'd you generate HP? I don't think I saw you roll hit dice or anything.

AC's a touch low for level 9, but not critically so.

What book is sidestep from?

How do you see your character functioning in battle? What roles do you envision him taking?

I averaged HP. Sidestep's from Miniatures Handbook. As far as combat goes, he takes advantage of reach and the potent single-hit damage from duskblades, can mix in some pretty effective SoDs as well, is reasonably mobile on top of all of that, and then you just basically add the beguiler spell list on top of it. He isn't taking down armies, but he has a lot of options to get out of sticky situations. Not very defensive oriented, but considering he can do a wide degree of debilitating things (and with lesser deflect, invis, greater mirror image, etc. the low AC isn't as huge a concern) he doesn't need to be. With some setup the numbers can get pretty impressive. With the right terrain he can totally do mounted charges and be ridiculous.

Weekdays, super late (9PM PST+), though I could sometimes start earlier. Weekends, generally open but have to arrange in advance. Honestly I'm cool with the "prod, see if stuff is possible" approach, though Friday is generally wide open as well.

Due to a death in the family the start of this is going to be postphoned a bit. I'd guess 3 days to a week and a half. I don't really know right now and won't know for awhile.
