Emily puts in Heroes and Halberds. The bookshelf slides apart, revealing a hallway ahead.

"We did it!" Emily cheers, "A secret passage, just like in one of Mom's stories!"

[Iron Dragoon]

"No Emily, in the start of your story and our story. Earning a prize from the library of the Red Knight is a good starting point, wouldn't you say?"

[Anastasia]

"Yeah, let's go," Emily agrees brightly, hurrying along and deeper in. "To a great adventure start! To a great story!"

Jarem watches and brings up the rear, not chiming in, letting you and Emily go.

[Iron Dragoon]

"Remember caution. Traps and bait are part of normal war tactics."

Alyssa sedately follows Emily.

[Anastasia]

"Oh! Right," Emily says as...

A pale white spray fills the air, but you react fast. You chant a simple spell to reverse the air flow, sending it back against the wall, as with a cry from Emily, flames immolate the mist altogether. Whew!

Both made the save.

Alyssa nods.

"See? Let's keep going."

[Anastasia]

"Dullmist," Jarem calls, voice light and amused. "Makes you stupider to breath it, lasts several days. Technically a poison."

Emily exhales, "Mom has stories about traps. So do most of my Aunts and even Uncle Donald. They're so nasty."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Yes, they are. Effective and fairly cheap and simple to employ as well. Quick to set up. That's why they're so common."
