Alyssa leans back in her chair, "I very much appreciate your faith in me, and I'm fully willing to help you. But I feel it would be a failure of that trust to not point out that you're effectively asking me to help you with a significantly difficult mission while relying on things I'm the weakest at.

I'm not a fighter, I have never touched such a weapon, and the wording implies that I won't be able to use magic. My defenses will be next to non-existent, my combat abilities will be crippled, and I may not even be able to use my telekinesis.

Frankly, you're stacking the deck against yourself. Do you want to risk failure? Honestly, I think this may be a chance for you to improve your relationship with one of the others.

If, however, you've weighed all this and still want me to go, I will. But we'll need to pull the others in to plan out the best chance. There are pitfalls we need to plan for."

Note that I'm not really shooting her down. I just want her to have the best chance of success here. Taking a wizard to a melee boss fight is a poor tactic unless I misunderstood. Can I use magic in this?

Ianvasah considers, silent a time. "No," she says at last, "You raise fair points. Let me have an afternoon to think on it."

Alyssa nods, "Ianvasah, let me be clear: I'm not turning you down. I owe you for all your support and more than that, I want to help my friends. But I want you to have the best chance at success."

"I know. You speak wisdom, not cruelty," Ianvasah blows out a breath.

"But you have an issue. Speak it. Remember where holding it in led us before.

I sometimes forget you're not as open to socializing as I am. Part of my scholar's blind spot, I suppose.

Know this, though: when we talk I will always do my best to keep in mind the intent behind the words, not just the words."

[Anastasia]

"You're the one I want," Ianvasah says, "Though you're also right that you're an ill considered choice for such a mission." She blows out a sigh, "Wisdom often does not spare one's feelings."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods. " If you go with someone else, then I'll do my best to help."

[Anastasia]

"I'll let you know once I've decided," Ianvasah says, going up and off.

Anything to do while she takes a bit of time on that, or just wait for an answer?
