https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/i-just-love-killin-worm-rick-and-morty-crossover.446513 - enjoyed this.  Basically just joyful super-assassin backseat coaching Taylor.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/denial-worm-alt-power-comedy.679429/ - The Plot Armor is IMMENSE... but in a way that's the joke.
Well, Goodbye.

Been a while.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/i-woke-up-as-a-dungeon-now-what-dungeon-worm.620521/ - updated.  Some reflection.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/it-gets-worse-worm-au-fanfic-complete.366768/ - kind of think this is the best that ack can do these days on a fic.

https://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/monster.29235 - has been updating again.

https://wanderinginn.com/table-of-contents/ - I pretty much am not enjoying the goblin vs empire war here.  The current Heroes vs the Dungeon bit is much better though.
Well, Goodbye.

Been a while.

One issue that keeps me from posting what I'm reading is that some LNs are translated across multiple different translators on different sites.   It's rare that a translator picks up a story and sticks with it through the whole story.  That means varying levels of translation quality and inconsistency in style, which is pretty jarring if one isn't prepared for it.  So I don't post links to translate LNs here, because I don't hate anyone here.

If I were to post anything, it'd probably be links from Wuxiaworld, but I think Merc has those covered.

Ruby is thrust forward into star wars at the moment where all her friends are dying...and then back again hundreds of years later, to a point before that happened.  Story covers simultaneously both angles going on, swapping between them.  Mainly reading it for the author (andre), but it is kinda neat.
Well, Goodbye.

I decided to start re-reading MLP Loops (part of a complete breakfast):

https://www.fimfiction.net/story/98568/mlp-time-loops

but they are a million bazillion pages long now. (Latest is "Chapter 201": 15,319 words. I am on Chapter 87 and the sense of living through so many time loops you lose count has been adequately conveyed.) Time Braid it is not. Right Moments it is definitely not. (Right Moments was great.)

What it is, is it's a pile of references to other people's fanfic plot bunnies with some pretty interesting mini-fics thrown in. Perfect for piecemeal reading in a boring subway commute. But the structure is wacky in that several unrelated time loops are being told in interleaved fashion as the authors update them, making the reading experience like channel surfing between 20 different Sufficient Velocity threads. Sometimes the author of a particular loop goes on hiatus for 4 chapters and reappears later... and I am like "hey, I totally forgot that loop was still in progress".

It would be helpful to have a 'sorted' version where the excerpts are grouped into full fics.

What blew my mind is, the way the universe works means that they have now permanently diverged from canon. See, MLP canon now incorporates some fairly odd decisions by baseline characters, e.g. opening the friendship school. In order for that to work its way into the loops would require the highly improbable sequence of:
Quote
(a) Need to have a loop with Twilight un-Awake, which only happens in that multiverse

(b) when a Loop Anchor from some other universe has looped in

(c) but that Anchor would have to cooperate with maintaining the baseline plot,

(d) so the other ponies can observe what baseline!Twilight would do in the baseline plot,

(e) and then they'd have to decide to do the exact same thing for some reason in future loops for it to become a regular plot fixture.

This is basically like a Drake equation applied to the time loop thing. As amount of canon decision grows, probability of seeing them in Time Loops exponentially approaches zero. They barely creaked through the Tirek thing in order to be able to use post-Tirek stuff as a fixture in subsequent minifics. Season 6 onwards appears completely absent (I grepped ahead for some stuff that seems like it would be there if they got to it).

It is worthy of analysis into how many writers have apparently got addicted to writing in this format that it's apparently a self-sustaining reaction now.

I remember reading the loops fics by Innortal, although hadn't read any of the MLP ones since I'd lack most of the context (the last time I'd ever seen any cartoon titled MLP back in the 80s, which I understand is a completely different series than what people talk about now).  That said, I think there's an easy way to generalize what you're describing.

For any fanfic being written as the canon series progresses in general, trying to recon new plot twists or character developments becomes increasingly harder, and the writer has to choose at some point to either fork the continuity or abandon the story as unworkable.  The structure of how the Loops universe is being written is such that only a few writers need to decide to keep writing for it to continue, which means it's unlikely for it to be abandoned.  So if the writers are using a series that is still being written, forking the continuity is the only real option.

https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/if-the-ring-fits-young-justice-hellblazer-si.377687/ - finished this.  Kinda feel it misses Breathing, but was a fun ride.  It does finish the first conflict put before the character, but everything after that gets entangled as a 80% done->Start next conflict, up until the present point of the fic.
Well, Goodbye.

I thought the loops had hard start/stop points built in, though? Character A's loops are for a year, character b's loops last until they die, ect. Wouldn't they have to expand the loop period to even have to worry about new canon?

Yes, they actually explicitly do that. The reset point occasionally moves forward and this is even referred to as an "expansion". In-universe it's justified as "the admins managed to repair more of your universe so your loop is longer now".

I see. Must have been introduced after I stopped reading them. After a while there was like one or two authors who had story threads that I liked. Wish they were archived by contributor somewhere; I'm curious if they're still writing loops.

Long winded.  Has a "life and times of X" approach.  I've read other stories that fit that description, and I still found interesting but this one doesn't pique my interest.
