What do you think about the new board system?

Since we all got dragged by the evil one Dracos to a new board system, what do you think about it vs the old PHBB2?

Colour scheme's not as nice, I don't like the template as much.  That's fixable.  It works, and seems to work quite well; the backend is much less screwy.

While none of them are very good, there's 2 other options as well for templates, if folks want to try them.

Agreed. THe default's pretty much subsilver 3.0. I prefer darker tones, so I'll be prodding the Dracos to hurry with them.

The new board will not leave me logged in.  On the other hand, unlike the old site, it doesn't zero out "posts since last visit" every time you log in.

Weird.  Try clearing out the SMF cookies entirely and let them get generated fresh?  I've had pretty good luck with it so far but it could just be some incompatibility browserwise.  What are you using?  *will take a glance next time over the site for fixes next he gets a chance*

Bjorn - there should be a setting for "leave me logged in forever" in your profile, I think.

I think it works nicely, but as Rez pointed out, some more themes might be nice. I have a bit of time later this week during which I might sit down and toy around with creating theme stuff (this will likely be way over my head), and there have been suggestions made as for themes to add. I believe that a default theme can be set, and then each person can choose which theme they want displayed when they log in.

But it works, and that's nice.

Oh, one other thing; I can't tell what kind of icon (if any) is used to denote new posts when looking inside a thread. I'm not sure if there isn't one, or if I'm just missing it.

I notice everyone has their theme set to the default.  Which is cool in a way, but may I suggest the Bablyon one that also came standard and I find a good deal cleaner.
