Between Denga and Antenora you guys have a large fountain of information on the devils you'll be facing in the desert. All of this following information will be assumed to be known and discussed, so brush up on it.

---

General Situation:

The good outsiders and the devils both have secured bases deep in the northern desert. Neither side can force a decision, instead battles of good and evil rage as both forces try and outdo each other.  The situation has been noted to have at least spilled slightly into Arad and the Desert Fiefdoms, though the exacts of this aren't currently known. However, the angels and archons maintain a safehouse within Arad. Stories of angels seen in the desert have been heard to be spreading through the Fiefdoms.

Enemy compositions:

Enemies you already know:

Lemures: The weakest of all devils, these mindless creatures are the ultimate fodder. They possess minimal endurance and easily bypassed DR. While they are immune to fire, any other sort of battlefield control works well. The only real danger they present is stalling you from getting to the stronger devils. While not stated to be in the desert, almost all devils can summon them.

Bearded Devils: You know them and hate them by now. They're not too tough to deal with anymore, as they don't have much HP or enough to hit to threaten your ACs. Do watch out for the glaives, as infernal injuries can whittle away at your hit points if they score a lucky shot. While not stated to be in the desert, many devils can summon them as fodder.

Erinyes: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/devil.htm#erinyes

With Antenora you could have any question you dreamed of about default Erinyes answered. You've also fought them before, so you have no reason not to know exactly what they're capable of. The ones you face here will certainly be fully armed and ready to ruin your day. These can still be a threat, especially if you face one with any sort of boosting(A magic weapon, a class level, whatever.). The mobility they possess also makes them a concern.

New threats

For these threats, feel free to make your own K:P checks if you wish. If you roll well enough to add anything useful I'll post it.

Araton(Desert Devils)

These dual scimitar wielding assholes often take the vanguard of the war bands of the devils. Araton are specially adapted to the desert and possess superior tracking abilities therein. Aratons have an eternal cloud of flaying sand flying in a 10 ft radius around them. Anyone within that range will take damage each round. To make matters worse, Araton regenerate. Only good aligned spells or good/silvered weapons will keep them dead, so don't waste your time if you don't have those.  Oh, and a few advanced ones have been seen. These Araton can make localized sandstorms on the spot. Joy.

On the bright side, Araton have relatively weak defenses for a devil. They have minimal SR and aren't immune to poison, nor do they reduce damage from most other elements.

Orthons

Imagine a large, muscled humanoid that towers over you. It has a horrible spear and a crossbow that just ache to make your blood spill out. Oh, and they're covered in welded steel plates with maggots dripping out of the horrid gashes these make in their body. That's an Orthon and they're out to kill you. These soldiers often serve in the Blood War or in planar invasions. They never work alone, often working in even numbered teams, with a melee man using his spear, while the other peppers the foes with it's crossbow. Watch out for when you kill or seriously hurt one in one shot: the maggots that pour out will do some damage to you.

Oh, those crossbows? They don't fire bolts - they fire hellfire. You have to dodge them, since once they touch you it's too late. While the damage isn't overwhelming, it can't be resisted by normal fire defenses. Also, try and separate them - Orthons gain bonuses for each Orthon they're adjacent to. Orthons hate Steel Devils.

Steel Devils:

They're big, they're steely and they have nasty great swords. You know what's even worse? Unlike Orthons, Steel Devils are keenly intelligent. They're the yin of battlefield control to the yang of raw destruction of the Orthons.  They can throw you around each time they hit you, they're immune to many effects like stunning and mind affecting abilities and they have a spell disrupting chant. The only mercy is that they don't have much HP - about as much as a Bearded Devil.

Amnizu:

These gargoyle like devils are the gate keepers of Hell. While you won't find them in the desert, you're likely to run into a few if you can reach the portal itself.  They're not the best fighters, but don't let them touch you. This will cause raw intelligence damage. Oh, and they can also throw quickened fireballs around like they're going out of style. If this wasn't enough fun, they also regenerate. Bring the silver and the holy weapons if you get your hands on one.

War band leaders

Erinyes Warlock:

Take an Erinyes and train it in the ways of a warlock and then a Hellfire warlock. You're going to deal with a fallen angel that can throw massive hellfire balls from quite a distance. If you can't get close quickly, you'll die from it's large, ranged touch attacks. This may be tricky, as she can teleport as well. She's likely to have as much endurance as a gelugon or worse, so bring overwhelming force to put her down.

Advanced Orthons:

Orthons are bad. Orthons with levels in fighter are way worse.  Watch out for these. Also, there's a monk Orthon running around. Don't let him get close to you or it'll be all over.

Gelugon:

These leading devils are masters of the cold and melee. They have more powers than you'd probably care to think about, including a robust full attack routine that can slow a victim on a spear hit, spell likes including cone of cold and unholy aura at will and regeneration.  If at all possible keep one of these busy. If they're left to their own devices they'll try and summon a squad of bone devils or another gelugon.

---

As always, it's possible the devils have more tricks up their sleeves. Having as many preparations as possible would be wise.
