Ebiris

Being the skilled swimmer that he is, Flasheart attempts to reach the cross without being swept over the waterfall!

Good thing I picked the right bot!

With some struggle Lord Flasheart manages to stay on course! Even near the drag, when the water becomes like a torrent trying to send him plunging to a possible doom, he resists! He reaches the platform and holds on! The current is very strong, but not strong enough to prevent him from climbing up and taking a look about if he likes.

Naturally Flasheart has eyes and he uses them with which to survey his surroundings!

The steel platform is very steely. Not much to say there. The cross is gorgeous - of gold and silver. It's Christian in make, ornate, like something the Roman Catholics might have down in old Italy. It's about four feet tall, the bottom melded into the platform. Craning his neck, Flasheart can see over the edge of the waterfall! The water plummets into a vast black abyss, no end in sight despite the thundering sound.

It's pitch black down there. You feel likely to be eaten by something even staring into this abyss. Yet, on the horizon far far far below, you can see something glittering. You can't quite make it out, but it's very alluring...!

"I don't think we can take the cross with us!" Flasheart yells back at the assembled gang over the roar of the waterfall as he leans on the tall artifact for support. "It's welded into the platform! But there's something shiny down at the bottom of the waterfall!"

Anastasia

As Flasheart touches the cross, he feels a thrill pass through him! With a wink Lord Flasheart is gone!

The following text applies to Flasheart only.

Flasheart blinks as his eyes clear. He stands in the room of colored bars once more, near the passage to the steelworks!

"Oh... well, hopefully they'll be along shortly..." Flasheart settles down to wait a few moments for his boon companions to catch up.

Anastasia

Right-o. Ball's in your court, Cor/Gate/CARTHRAT TANEWAKI.

Euphemia certainly is willing to risk touching the cross. Even if it will horribly disintegrate her rather than send her elsewhere, it's worth a chance. Now, if only someone could help her get to that platform....

Gate, we can remove your armor for an excellent Swim mod, let's do that~
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

While Euphiemia busily undresses the dwarf, Sacchin busily starts making a lasso out of some rope.

OOC: Already had that idea, just not here all day to post it.

Ranmaru looks at the platform, then back to his companions, then back to the platform, and shrugs, "I could reach there without effort alone, but not carrying anyone else. At least not in this armor. No help for it, then. I can fight without this metal plating as easily as I can with it."

With that said, Ranmaru begins to divest himself of his armor, though he tries to keep it in a bundle.

When he's done getting unencumbered, he turns to the rope making Sacchin, "Hmm, is there any way you could tie my armor onto one end of that rope, hold it until we reach the platform, then throw me the other end? I'll drag my armor over, get it off the rope, then throw you one end back so you have a bit of a saftey line while you swim over."

<Marisa> They're OP as fuck
<Marisa> They definitely don't blow in 3.5
<Marisa> after a certain level they basically just attack repeatedly until it dies
<Marisa> they're immune to a bunch of high level effects
<Marisa> just by being monks

"Better idea. You go that side. I go other side. Hold ends of rope. Catch onto cross, drag selves back up it."

She shrugs. "Tie boots or something in middle of rope, stop it slipping far."

Unarmoring Ranmaru is accomplished after some struggles.  Sacchin also makes a lasso without incident.

Ball's in your courts still.

Sacchin tries to tie her flail to the center of the rope so it can be used as a brace.

"You two hold on that side," she notes, spacing herself from the others.

So basically I plan to have us each about five-ten feet on either side of the platform; it should be caught between us. We should catch the cross as we float down, and then, using it as a brace, one of us can climp towards it and pull the others up. It's a plan that can't fail, beyond dropping the rope! Assume I execute this as soon as someone else is ready to do the same.

Yes, this cannot fail, let's do it.
