After a few blows, the grate is pushed up and away! It clatters a little to the side, as if the darkness is a solid floor to the sides! It looks like you can climb out here!

Sacchin does so! And looks around to see if there's actually anything around at all, or if the entire place really is just... empty.

[Anastasia]

It's pitch black. You feel likely to be eaten by something. Yet, on the horizon, you can see something glittering. You can't quite make it out, but it's very alluring...!

[Carthrat]

Sacchin blows on her mephit-summoning whistle. And then runs towards the light!

[Anastasia]

The mephit appears! "What's going AAAAH OH GODS NOOOOO!" it screams in utter horror as Sacchin surges forward! There is a moment, then...!"

The mephit vanishes in a few spackles of blood and guts! Sacchin doesn't see anything as she starts to run towards the sparkly on the horizon, but a sense of overwhelming terror fills her body!

If anything can possibly help her, it certainly isn't going back towards... whatever it was that just did that, so Sacchin has little choice but to plunge onwards towards the thing, accepting death with a quiet sigh.

[Anastasia]

Sacchin charges closer! She feels something terrifying coming at her, her skin rising up in pure goosebumps!

As Sacchin feels herself ripped apart, she gets a glimpse of something. It's beautiful...it's gorgeous. It reminds her, ever so faintly...of good times. Class, school, happiness...To...hno...kun....and even all of that vanishes in the maw of some unseen calamity! If only she could get to it, she feels as if everything would be...okay...

Meanwhile, Euphy reaches the respawn point without incident. She touches it and could perhaps frown as she sees the list of fatalities to be summoned back:

Dismayed at the speed at which that girl died without Euphemia there to guide her, she decides to summon her first.

Sacchin so appears!

Euphemia proceeds with her original plan to summon Flasheart in the meantime.

Sacchin looks much the same as previous, although instead of a sword, she seems to have acquired a halberd, the blades vaugely in the shape of a bat.

That she appears prone and apparently on the brink of tears say much about her emotional state.

"Was that Beta plan really so horrible?" Euphemia asks the distraught girl.

[Carthrat]

"Fire. Darkness. Teeth," moans Sacchin, shuddering.

[Corwin]

"Sounds quite nasty," Euphemia agrees. "Are you better prepared to head back and kill the darkness, the fire and the teeth, now?"
