As Flasheart approaches, he sees that a new game is indeed afoot! Over the vat of melted metal a metal cannon has appeared! As Flasheart comes in view of him, it shoots a glob of melted metal right at him!

* Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20-1 and gets 5." [1d20=6]

The glob lands in front of Flasheart, sizzling and melting the floor!

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Carthrat

"See?" notes Sacchin, taking an improptu step back out of range.
[19:14] <Annerose> Aww, mouth not outpacing brain after all?
[19:14] <Candide> My brain caught up

Ebiris

Flasheart quickly looks to see if there's any cover afforded en route to the cannon, as he doesn't fancy his chances strolling down the stairs if that thing's shooting at him all the while.

Anastasia

There's really not much cover on a glance. The stairs are fairly open and the cannon would have a solid shot.

Ranmaru considers his whistle, "Hmm, I wonder if there's anything a creatue of steam would know about a firey cannon. Perhaps a way to shut it off, if we're lucky." He looked to the others, "Shall I summon the creature?"
All About Monks
<Marisa> They're OP as fuck
<Marisa> They definitely don't blow in 3.5
<Marisa> after a certain level they basically just attack repeatedly until it dies
<Marisa> they're immune to a bunch of high level effects
<Marisa> just by being monks

Ebiris

"I have an idea!" Flasheart insists, channelling his creepy magic into the trident he carries to make it emanate an aura of shadowy darkness before he hurls it at the cannon, hopefully blinding whatever it uses to see with!

Anastasia

Flasheart chucks the trident! It flies and lands fairly close to the cannon! Darkness envelops it! There doesn't seem to be any immediate return fire from it, the cannon now engulfed in shadows.

Ebiris

"That should let us get around it easily!" Flasheart seems well pleased with his handiwork, leading the way down the stairs.

Anastasia

Indeed, as Flasheart goes down, the cannon does not fire at all!

Nodding in approval at the ingenuity involved, Euphemia follows Flasheart, observing what has been changed from the last time she was in the chamber.

Lava on the floor, lava burning through the doors, anything?
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

#685
The rear of the chamber has several puddles of half melted, ruined flooring near the door to the study. It'll be tricky to go over to the study now. The way to the study door is messed up, the other paths not so much.

Euphemia doesn't go to the study, then, intending on trying the other doors as she says, "If we work together, we should get them to open!"

Lord Flasheart checks the doors for traps, first of all!

Taking 10 for 19. I can't find any traps with DCs of 20 or higher anyway because of trapfinding being a retarded class feature

Corwin

The third one I already opened without trouble before, though I'll wait on Flash to check first, etc.
