The effeminate samurai has to chuckle, "Perhaps for you, freind. I fear this heat may be the end of me."

Shaking his head, he decides to make a request, "I dislike relying on another so much, but with both wings and apparent resistance to this inhuman heat it would seem that you're simply suited for tasks that I am not. Could I trouble you to take a look out there and see if you can find the Lord and the others?"

[Corwin]

Eagle eyes! I mean, I think I had 10hp left.

"That strangely androgynous fellow just peeked outside before hiding back... somewhere," Euphemia mutters helpfully, before being even more useful and calling down, "Are you still alive? Try getting over here to join the rest of us!"

[Anastasia]

As Ranmaru goes to close the door against the heat, he can distantly hear Euphemia's shouts!

"If you can't just kill yourself and we'll pick you up again on our end!" Flasheart calls over helpfully.

Ranmaru steps back out, "HERE, WHERE ARE YOU?"

When he hears her shout back, he's gritting hs teeth and running for the sound of her voice!

Impressive.

The heat is overwhelming! Ranmaru feels faint as she sprints up the stairs, hurrying in this baking inferno! She somehow keeps her coherency, vision swimming and body shaking! Nonetheless she makes it to the top, falling to her knees in exhaustion as she comes out of the growing, baking inferno of the steel works.

"Jolly good show," Flasheart applauds Ranmaru's manly efforts. "So, what did you find under that walkway?"

Ranmaru slowly stands up, brushing himself off, "A scroll, Lord. We only had time to recover the first of three before I felt it was more prudent to retreat."

Digging out the scroll, he hands it off to Lord Flashheart.

Lord Flasheart reads the scroll!

Hopefully it's about animal husbandry, otherwise he probably won't understand it.

This scroll is about difficult and scary things, like magic! It's way too hard for a mere commoner to understand!

"It's all greek to me," Flasheart confesses, handing the scroll to Euphie.

[Corwin]

"I'll take a look, then," Euphemia says obligingly, even as she asks, "So there are two more? Where's your little friend? Maybe he could get the rest."

[VySaika]

Ranmaru looks around, noticing the lack of his steamy companion, "Ah...I assumed he would follow. Well, he did say it was pleasant down there for him, I can understand why he'd linger."

Raising his voice, he calls down, "Sir Mephit, can you hear me?"

[Anastasia]

From far away, you can hear the Mephit shout back, "I'm over heeeeeereeee!"
