Stuck in the Middle With You

[Brian]

"To the best of my knowledge.  What reason did Radagast have to mistrust Mattias, then?" Kevin asks, glancing towards the door, as Alec and all of the guardsmen are still outside.  "He may even have been speaking the truth.  But that is a risk I think we ought not take."

Bjorn is able to see Alec, who is telling a story to the guards.  He seems to have most of their attention, and doesn't notice Bjorn looking towards him.

[Bjorn]

"Alec," Bjorn says gravely, "could you please put your axe down immediately?"

[Rezantis]

Rez mutters dourly, stepping towards the door himself.

"Sorry, Alec, but since Mattias was the one to clear it . . . we'd better have Radagast or someone check it again."

[Brian]

Alec drops the axe like it was on fire, and steps backwards from it quickly.  It slams into the ground with a solid weight, and a metallic clang.

"Oh," he says quietly, looking at it suspiciously.

[Rezantis]

Rez eyes it suspiciously himself, stepping past Bjorn.

"Where's Radagast?" he inquires of the area in general.

[Brian]

"Sir Bjorn!" someone yells, rounding the corner and coming into sight, skidding to a halt when he sees the veritable army of guards.  It's one of the keep servants.  "Sir Bjorn, Lord Kevin -- there's a monster south of the keep, just outside of bowshot.  It's right on the supply caravan's road."

Lord Kevin blinks at this, and scowls.  "Secure this area," he says, looking at the guards.  "I want this room watched, and no one and nothing allowed back in unless myself, Bjorn, or Sir Lammermore himself come here and order otherwise.  No one is to touch this axe, or anything inside that room.  This goes for all of you -- except for you," he says, pointing at Alec.  "You, Bjorn, and Nathan -- come with me," he says, striding swiftly down the hall, glancing over his shoulder to make sure he's being followed.

[Bjorn]

Bjorn falls into step behind Kevin.  Wait.  Sir Bjorn?  Shit.

[Brian]

You swiftly flee the keep towards the south, where the monster is supposed to be.

Bjorn and Nathan now join The Beast.
