<Kotono> ---
<Kotono> A day of rest passes. The next day the Lady of the Green Kirtle meets with the party. "I have interrogated the cultist," she begins. "Of interest are several things. First of all, the gestaloth was to feast ont he souls of the diseased and forge them into a tormented ghost. This is now stopped, the gestaloth slain. Second of all, there are efforts to destroy Amlyn proper, and with it the last
<Kotono> vestiges of central authority within the region. Should this occur, Amlyn will fall deeper into the Oinoloth's grasp."
* Adail nods, "That does sound like how they operate. Hmm." Then he asks, "Any ideas about what other strongholds they have, any leads on how else we can disrupt thier grip on the region?"
<Knight> "I thought about this," replies Knight. "Is it truly our concern whether or not the central authority falls? As things stand, I'm under the impression that the authorties simply do not possess any means to combat the threat, and that it is entirely on outside help to see the yugoloths defeated."
<Kotono> "'twould be easy for the city to fall," The Lady agrees, her face dispassionate and distant. "'twould also be a disaster, as many more die and the grip of chaos comes onto the region. What profit is it to a king to stand over a defeated kingdom of ash and ruin?" A moment's beat, "Of their main fortress, no. The messages and interrogation have opened up some potentials, however. The Red Boar,
<Kotono> which is an inn in Amlyn proper, is said to be a focus of their attacks. Celestial resistance has been reported there. IT stands to region some of their interests lie there, and thus other avenues of attack...as well as allies."
<Kotono> *reason
<Kamvakua> "The danger has been made clear, that any allies brought to this plane are brought to fight it to the death.  But it is good that some are here and if we can avoid the death of many more, we should.  But first do we know any more about where Ursagal is foritfied?"
<Kamvakua> roll 1d20+10 k:p
<Hatbot> ACTION --> "Kamvakua rolls 1d20+10 k:p and gets 16." [1d20=6]
<Mari> "So, this Red Boar Inn or whatever, how far is that from here? If we can find allies there, well, the more the better, right?"
<Knight> "It just goes to show that the key powers avaliable to us are not those aligned with Amlyn directly," replies Knight. "Well, even if we make contact with them, this isn't a battle that will be won by the nation, but in a single stroke against the enemy's heart. Once Usragel is defeated and the answer to the plague in our hands, we can institute recovery at leisure."
* Kamvakua glances over the others to see how they're doing, particularly those that had contracted the plague.
<Kotono> "As I said, no." The Lady is unruffled, "That information is curiously absent from the cultist. I do believe," A thoughtful pause before she continues, "That Ursagel has considered that he may suffer losses yet and is controlling information. IN other words, he anticipated magical interrogation and took counter-steps. It lies in Amlyn proper, which is some distance from here. On the subject of
<Kotono> allies?" A pause, "Besides the celestial influence, there is another one possible. A spirit of sorts, known as the Knight of the Fountain."
<Adail> Though he had caught the plague the day before, Adail looks fine, if a bit tired. At least for now. He nods at the mention of the allies, "Hmm. What can you tell us about this Knight of the Fountain?"
<Knight> "He is a powerful guardian spirit of a fountain sacred to the Skyfather," explains Knight. "The one who controls that fountain with a strong will gains an enormous power, such is my understanding."
<Kotono> "Yes," The Lady of the Green Kirtle says, "The messages spoke of him as an active force. I had not thought it so, but perhaps Ursagel has more information on this than us. His aid would be a boon to us. As of now I recommend that two groups be formed. One heads to Amlyn proper to the Red Board. There they will find these celestials and defeat the dogs of the Oinoloth. The other will go to the
<Kotono> Knight of the Fountain's realm and seek his aid."
<Mari> "And, if we decided to head to Amlyn to look for help, how long a trip would we be looking at? Could you 'port us in nearby, or is it gonna be a long walk? Could we even get in through normal means, or have they locked the city down to try and contain the plague?"
<Kotono> "I can get you near the city," The Lady of the Green Kirtle says, "Or even into the city, but there are reasons that manner of teleportation may be unwise. Getting in will be a difficulty, the city is quarantined in a vain effort to stem the Bleeding Death."
<Adail> "Hmm," Adail muses, "Either Kam or I needs to go to the inn, to contact the celestials. I...actually would like to go to the fountain myself, if you wouldn't mind heading to the inn?" he looks at his large friend.
* Mari runs a hand through her hair. "I think right now I'm in much more of a mood to go the Inn, given a place to drown my sorrows sounds like the thing right now. ...But I've also got the plague, and if it's not already in the city, it will be once I walk in. Unless ghosts can get sick, I figure I'm better off speaking to the Knight."
<Kotono> "I will leave the composition of groups to you," The Lady agrees, "I do agree with Adail's reasoning that he or Kamvakua should go to the Red Boar."
<Knight> "I can travel the fastest under my own power," notes Knight. "Send me to wherever is most distant."
<Kamvakua> "I can go to the Inn," He nodded down at the mouse.
<Kotono> "I'll go to the inn too!" Yulia pipes up, "If there are some celestials there we can get them to help!"
<Adail> "If there's actual fighting there, I'm sure they'll be glad to have both of you at hand." Adail chuckles.
<Knight> "Adail can travel with me easily," notes Knight. "I could take one other without suffering an impossible load."
<Knight> "How would we reach the fountain?"
<Kotono> "I will teleport you close to where it is said to be. The region is...enchanted and arcane, exact distances and travel time is hard to predict," she explains. "AS you get closer the Knight's control gets stronger, and reality bends to his whim."
<Mari> "Right, well, I think I'm good to take a trip to the Knight's realm. Ami, you're with me, right?"
<Kotono> "Yes," Ami says, a short nod. "We will go then."
<Kotono> "
<Kotono> "Then we are decided," The Lady says, "Those going to the Knight, step forward and I will invoke the magic."
* Adail pads forward.
* Mari steps forward as well.
* Knight isn't getting left behind.
* Knight does pause for a moment, though, and hands something over to Kamvakua! "A letter," she notes. "You should know who to give it to, I think."
<Kamvakua> "...I see," He nodded, slipping it away.
Well, Goodbye.
