[20:31] <Kotono> After everything is said and done, the party returns to Whimsical Sweets. As one everyone gathers this morning, going up. Upstairs you all find Josa, Silver, Sylvie and Yuria awaiting. IN the back, propped up and held, is the vast greatsword taken from the yellow draogn's lair.
[20:32] <Janson> Aww, Sylvie didn't want to walk him to work. That makes Janson sad inside but he puts on a brave smile anyway, "Morning, everyone. Any new jobs come up lately, Josa?" he asks in his usual chipper manner.
[20:33] <Orval> "Good morning." Orval says, his familiar bobbing in the air beside him as he walks in.
[20:33] <Aaeru> "Isn't that supposed to be for, like, drawing people and stuff?" Aaeru asks, jerking her head in the direction of the sword. "It's hidden and everything, here!"
[20:34] <Whurric> "Mornin'," Whurric greets as well as he joins the others. "Thanks again for helpin' me find a buyer for that belt, by the by, Aaeru."
[20:34] * Aaeru flashes Whurric a bright smile. "Sure thing! I'm glad I could help you get rid of your material possessions!"
[20:36] <Kotono> "Good days, all!" Josa turns, "Ah yes, the corundrum of the sword is a difficult one without a doubt. For I must ask - when you combine candy with as word, is not the candy's value lessened and muddled? By the same thought, does the candy not obscure the might and majesty of the blade?" Nodding along, "Indeed, this is a matter I have thought long and hard on; I have taken great pains to properly
[20:36] <Kotono> analyze the situation with all the mind's vitality tha I possess; without-"
[20:36] <Kotono> Josa is stopped there, Silver sighing, "What he means is that we need to expand a little bit so his candies so the entire city doesn't thing he's compensating for something, having that big sword in the window."
[20:37] <Aaeru> "So you're not making a huge candy sword?" Aaeru asks. "Because that's candy and it's large and impressive, too!"
[20:38] <Whurric> "Could be a world record too, sure someone out there writes these sorts o' records in a book! Just think of bein' remembered as the owner of t'largest candy sword in all the realms!"
[20:38] <Kotono> "You could make a huge candy sword," Yuria agrees, "There's a recored book for candymancers, Whurric?"
[20:39] <Aaeru> There's probably a book for everything, Aaeru silently muses.
[20:39] * Whurric shrugs. "There's a book for just about everything, ain't there?"
[20:39] <Janson> "But what if someone else gets a bigger sword after the book gets written? What if the book's already been written and it's too late for Josa?" Janson asks, indulging himself in the silly derail.
[20:40] <Aaeru> "Sylvie can write a new book about how Josa's sword is larger!"
[20:40] <Whurric> "Then he just has to prove himself and make an even larger one!"
[20:40] <Orval> "Haveta get a reprint." Orval nods.
[20:41] <Kotono> As Silver snickers at this, Josa holds his hands up. "If I may," he clears his throat, "Before we worry overmuch about this this derail of our original point, let me get to the crux of the matter. I am thinking of purcashing the next door property and expanding Whimsical Sweets. Despite setbacks and losses, our original enterprise has grown far beyond our original aims."
[20:42] <Aaeru> "Then you should've said so," Aaeru tells him quite reasonably. "You know, you talk too much."
[20:42] <Janson> "I'll chip in for that," Janson offers, "Property's surprisingly cheap, or we're surprisingly rich. Can't decide which."
[20:43] <Kotono> "Rich," Yuria says, "Like, Sylvie was telling me about how you bought that mansion, and it's not like normal people have thousands of marks to lay down on homes!"
[20:45] <Kotono> "Ahem!" Josa coughs into his hand, "Again, if I may! Some contributions to this would not go amiss."
[20:45] <Kotono> Sylvie glances at Janson, a little shrug of her shoulders. "I can contribute. How much is it going to cost?"
[20:45] <Janson> "Yeah but I mean, you could buy that mansion twice over with what each of us got out of that dragon's hoard. Your scythe is worth four mansions!" Janson tells Yuria.
[20:46] <Aaeru> "Really?"
[20:47] <Janson> "Yeah, it's crazy," he follows up by nodding at the other blonde. "I was all set for some fierce haggling, but when I saw the prices I just didn't have the heart. Practically giving them away!"
[20:48] <Aaeru> "Huh." Aaeru shrugs. "Oh well, money never made sense to me."
[20:48] <Kotono> "2,500 marks for the property and 2,000 for rebuilding and redesign," Josa goes on, raising his voice over the others, "While you digest that, we have other orders of business to see to."
[20:49] <Aaeru> "Umm, well, I can help with the building and stuff? Ooh, and I can design stuff, too!"
[20:50] * Orval blinks at the price. "That's not so bad, really."
[20:50] <Janson> "Might as well split it evenly since we're all partners," Janson suggests, not particularly bothered by the price tag. "I guess property costs more inside the walls and under the mythal, considering it's a lot smaller and less fancy than my house but still costs more. Still easily affordable for us."
[20:51] <Kotono> "Yeah," Sylvie glances Janson's way, "Got it in one. Land's cheap in the Western Reaches. In the Commerce Quarter here? Not so much."
[20:52] <Janson> "I like having room, anyway," Janson grins back at her.
[20:58] <Kotono> "I will post more on the monetary side of things shortly then," Josa says, "Indeed, for at the moment we have more work to be done. This includes our first task from the Church of Waukeen, so please accel at this will all skill!" Josa nods, going over to the job board.
[20:59] <Janson> Since no one is going to read them for him, Janson crowds around as well for a look!
[20:59] * Aaeru is quite curious about that hard-won job from Waukeen's church, herself.
[20:59] * Whurric waits for the others to read first, then goes take a look as well.
[21:01] * Janson scans over a moment before speaking up, "I could handle any of them, but probably best suited for mediation or curse-breaking."
[21:02] <Aaeru> "Want to try breaking the curse together?" Aaeru offers Janson. "It sounds pretty bad, so we should try to stop it first."
[21:02] <Janson> "Sure," Janson nods happily. "At worst you can convince him that suffering the curse so another doesn't have to isn't so bad?"
[21:02] <Kotono> "I could, like, do the bodyguard work," Yuria pipes up, "I did things like that to make ends meet on the road."
[21:02] * Orval stands and goes over to Josa instead. "I'm happy to help fund the expansion into the building next door, but I'd like a favor as well, if you don't mind. I understand that you are a wizard like myself, and that we might benefit from one another by trading spells from our books. What do you say?"
[21:03] <Whurric> "Unless mediation requires me scaring the other side, I'm probably a bad fit there. I could help most with the pest control or do the bodyguard job, I imagine," Whurric muses outloud.
[21:03] <Aaeru> "I totally could!" Aaeru agrees with Janson. "Umm, and the Waukeen job's pretty important, but Sylvie and Neve would be awesome at it! I mean, if they wanted to, and all."
[21:04] <Kotono> "Oh, absolutely," Josa answers immediately, "Heavens above, spellcasting is expensive; I find myself constantly cursing and bemoaning the cruel fate that makes me choose between candymancer research and new spells!"
[21:04] <Kotono> Sylvie nods, "Sounds good. Neve and I shouldn't have any problems as long as it's not dragon diplomacy."
[21:05] <Aaeru> "Like, how many dragons can this city have, anyway?"
[21:06] <Kotono> "I know!" Yuria picks up immediately, "I hear about that one stupid traitor Seira, and now that yellow dragon and whatever other dragons! You would think they'd, like, go back to their caves or something!"
[21:06] * Orval nods. "We should set aside some time to trade spellbooks then." TThat said, he goes to have a look at the job board.
[21:07] <Janson> "Two isn't that many..." Janson mutters in response to Yuria's loudly anti-dragon sentiments.
[21:07] <Kotono> Ignoring the other two women with hardly a look, Sylvie turns to Janson, "I'll go meet up with Neve and get started on that then."
[21:07] * Aaeru blinks. "So, like, what if you came with Sylvie and Neve?" she then tells Yuria. "It's fine if they only pay us for two, right?"
[21:09] <Janson> "Pity we're not going off to the desert together, but it's hardly a vacation," Janson smiles easily at Sylvie, giving her a quick kiss. "Good luck with the Waukeenar."
[21:09] <Kotono> "No, no," Sylvie speaks up immediately, "Neve and I can handle it! No need to bring Yuria in at alll!" She waves a hand, starting to go, "Really, why don't you take Yuria with you instead!" Her steps are quick, going downstairs in a blur of blonde hair.
[21:10] <Aaeru> "Hey, sure, why not?" Aaeru swiftly agrees. "That's totally better than having her play bodyguard to someone from Seira's church."
[21:10] <Janson> "Aww..." Janson pouts a bit as Sylvie flees. "Alright, Yuria, you're with us?"
[21:11] <Kotono> "Right," Yuria joins them brightly!
[21:13] * Orval nods at the board. "I think that the job in the Fiefdoms would be a good place for me. I'll join you, Aaeru and Janson."
[21:14] <Janson> "Four of us seems a lot," Janson makes a face, "Plus what'll Whurric do? If you're really into it I guess I can help him instead?"
[21:14] <Whurric> "I'll do whatever, really, there's no shortage of jobs," Whurric says with a shrug.
[21:18] <Janson> "Lets see about the bodyguard one, then?" Janson asks, his spirits sapping at such apathy. "Have fun in the desert, you three."
[21:19] <Aaeru> "It'll be hot and stuff, but I trained my body against that! I'm sure we'll be fine! What could go wrong?"
[21:19] <Whurric> "Now why'd you say that, lass? Something's bound to happen now!"
[21:20] <Janson> "Just watch out for beautiful women that aren't you two," Janson cautions Aaeru and Yuria gravely.
[21:21] <Orval> "There are succubi in the deserts, too?!" Orval looks worried.
[21:21] <Kotono> "Very well then!" Josa nods, "I shall investigate Captain Hamilton's request myself. If so decided, let us embark immediately!"
[21:22] <Whurric> "With yer luck, brother? If there are, you'll stumble upon 'em."
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake
