Formula's pretty simple. The base is a use activated or continuous magic item, which is spell level * caster level * 2000.

> roll 9*17*2000
<Kobot> Ko-PrincessNitorisDecree rolled 9*17*2000 --> {306000}

However, there is a mitigating factor of uses per day. In this case it's 1 per day, and you divide the total by 5 divided by the number of uses. 5/1 is 5, so...

> roll 306000/5
<Kobot> Ko-PrincessNitorisDecree rolled 306000/5 --> {61200}

Then the last part is applying the steam pixie discount.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Merc

Ah. Well, adjusting to CL 23 and 3/day:

9*23*2000*3/5/4=62100

62100-15300= 46800

She can't afford that yet. So instead: 2/day, CL 23:
Costs 41.4k with discount, and minus cost of existing: 26.1k

3x scrolls of sending: 1,125 x 3 / 4 = 843.75

So 39,432.97 - 26.1k - 4k - 843.75 = 8492.22 gp left.
<Cidward> God willing, we'll all meet in Buttquest 2: The Quest for More Butts.

Are spell components 75% off as well or just magic items?

I was looking into getting a few of the hourglass-shaped diamonds for Hindsight, although I suppose Mineral might have some for purchasing...

Merc

Just items. Spell components would be full price since we'd have to buy them. Magic items we buy the components to craft them and Afina does her magic then gives them to us at cost.

Ebiris

Yeah, it's 1/4 price for magic items (half for having a crafting feat and half for Aurora being awesome) and 1/3 price for crafted non-magic items using the standard crafting rules with Aurora giving no benefit.

Anything else is priced as normal.

Nephrite

Then in that case Moore will buy 3 hourglass shaped diamonds for 3,000 and 3 sets of the items for Identify for 300, and also 3 sets of items needed for true seeing for 750 for a total of 4050.

19265.25 - 4050 = 15575.25 left

Nephrite

Would a ring of mind blank like Vivantha's be 8 (spell level) x 20 (CL, I guess?) x 2000 = 320k?

Anastasia

Whatever CL you use, yes. I think Vivantha used the minimum CL.

<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Anastasia

I don't think it did, as much as a few PCs relied on the divine version that lacks the material component. Feel free to check houserules.

#1480
Out of curiosity, what spell is that? The alternative, I mean.

EDIT: It's probably irrelevant with high levels of Spellcraft anyway.

Anastasia

It mostly is, yes. Anyway, certain spells that require arcane material components don't as divine spells. Identify shows up on a few cleric domains.

Anastasia

Yes. In any case, spellcraft's largely obsoleted it at these levels.
