Does he even get anything out of it? He has an armor bonus, a resistance bonus and isn't a spellcaster, so a lot of the benefits don't apply.

Won't the CL affect SLAs? And if he has the resistance bonus his current bonus to saves can be converted to an item that boosts that.

Secondly, if you want a bunch of knowledge skills, I'd suggest going for the +15 Knowledge prism, which works as a slotless item you don't have to wear.

These prisms were created by heretical gnomes in a war against all other races. They store a vast deal of information on creatures of all types. A prism connects to the bearer so that they can access its knowledge at all times, which grants a competence bonus to all Knowledge checks.

A prism with a bonus of +5 or +10 is a non-epic item, while a prism with a bonus beyond +10 is an epic item.

Moderate to overwhelming divination; CL 21st; Craft Wondrous Item, divination; Price: 40,000 (+5), 200,000 (+10), 450,000 gold (+15), 800,000 (+20).

What would it be to add Spellcraft to it? 10*10*100*1.5/4=3,750?

The normal price of adding a competence booster to skills with the multiplier for adding it to an existing item. What level of bonus are you looking for?

+10 all around. So it'd be the 200k+10^2*100*1.5=215,000/4=53,750.

Is there a way to make this into an Ioun Stone? Since I've got a couple that float around me already, I figure keeping the theme going won't hurt unless it's exceedingly expensive.
