[22:16] * Ithea starts forming a path of earth extending towards Baleruk's mountain as they wait (hopefully) for a response.

[22:18] <Jaela> They'll never figure it out if they just stay there, so Jaela heads in down that path.
[22:20] <Afina> Not actually seeing any enemies, Afina just flutters along close to Ithea. "Do you think Seira will be interested in this prismatic ascendance?" she asks Kascha since she's a dragon deity herself, who thankfully hasn't given them any problems unlike the two seniors.
[22:32] <Kotono> "Yeah," Kascha replies as she flies along, "I mean, why wouldn't she be? It's new and interesting knowledge."
[22:34] <Jaela> "Still remember where he was last time?" Jaela asks Ithea. "Unless he says hi we'll just have to keep on going there."
[22:35] <Afina> "Baleruk probably won't share his methods freely, but he does like to grandstand. Pay attention and your goddess might learn a way to empower her own forces, or even herself," Afina suggests, seeing no issue with following Ithea and Jaela's lead inside.
[22:36] * Ithea nods to Jaela. "I'll form a tunnel heading that way unless he opens up a route for us," Ithea replies, doing just that once they come upon the mountain and it blocking their path.

[22:39] <Jaela> "How?" Jaela asks, bringing the spear out. "Do I... stab you with it or something?"
[22:41] <Kotono> Baleruk extends out one massive claw, "Give it to me," He commands.
[22:41] <Kotono> Meanwhile Kascha watches the dragon, taking out a small notepad and quill, scribbing on it with an intense expression on her face.
[22:42] <Kotono> Annalise watches, a small smile on her face but otherwise holding her peace.
[22:42] <Jaela> "Here you go," Jaela says, stepping forward and placing the spear on that claw.
[22:43] * Ithea just waits besides the others, waiting to see Baleruk do his thing.
[22:46] <Kotono> The spear is placed on Baleruk's claw! The giant claw closes in around it, "At last...!" His entire form seems to exhale, "Now, I will go to my hoard and begin the transformation. You may come if you wish to see the birth of a true dragon. The great Renbuu will come as well, the sight will better orient and illuminate your minds."
[22:47] <Jaela> "How long would that transformation take?" Jaela has to ask.
[22:49] * Afina can be patient. "I would be glad to witness the ascendance of such a powerful ally," she offers, knowing how dragons like their egos stroked. And honestly she would like to see what all the fuss is about!
[22:52] * Ithea just quietly prepares to follow, though she moves near Kascha, curious to see her notes along with the process, just to see what she makes of things.
[22:52] <Kotono> "As long as it takes," Baleruk replies, rising. The wall behind him parts, revealing a passage ahead, one he begins to travel down immediately.
[22:52] <Kotono> Kascha's notes seem to be quick and dirty measurements of him, his scale colors, and how he presents himself. "Hm?" The eladrin looks over to Ithea.
[22:53] <Jaela> "I think it goes without saying we'd wanna be there for you," Jaela says. "But I'm concerned about your protection during that time. Can you maintain your defenses while transforming, or should Ithea take over for those?"
[22:53] <Ithea> "Just curious to see what you were writing," Ithea explains. "Sorry, you don't mind, I hope?"
[23:02] <Kotono> "Lord Renbuu will be there! NONE ARE SO COWARDLY AND FOOLISH TO ATTACK! NONE WILL DARE ATTACK SUCH AS US!" Baleruk turns, the full, deafening force of his voice unleashed! KAscha starts to reply, lost int hat roar. She hits the side of her head when he's done, popping her ear. "It's fine, just notes for dragon-study."
[23:03] * Jaela can think of plenty candidates, but opts to nod in response. "Works for me."
[23:04] <Kotono> 'Do be prepared, if it wasn't obvious,' Annalise sends to Jaela, 'I can think of plenty of fools.'
[23:04] * Jaela grins at Annalise in answer. They seem to be thinking the very same thing, for a change.
[23:04] * Afina nods placidly in response to Baleruk, content to humour him from now and then bail his ass out when Tiamat and Bahamut show up. It'll make him more dependent on them, after all.
[23:07] <Kotono> With this you are lead deeper in! You come to a hollow deep within the mountain. Here great heaps of gems sit. No gold, no art, no treasure. Gems. [23:07] <Kotono> he exults, "Now, oh Lord of Ever-Changing Colors!" His voice rises, beginning to sign an ever-shifting paean that you can yet understand, words that are no words at all. "Lord of Color, come forth! Accept my offering! I demand you come and complete the pact!"
[23:08] <Jaela> In case they are attacked by a variety of dragons, Jaela decides to ward herself against such things before settling to observe this one of a kind transformation.
[23:09] <Kotono> Kascha starts intensly scribbling away once more, "Lord of Colors....Offering...gemstones...must be at rainbow...probably a symbolic number like 88 or 888 of each..."
[23:10] <Kotono> Annalise steps back and watches, "Hmm, hmm, hmm. Do ward your minds," she speaks up now, "If a slaad of high standing comes, you may find your sanity...impaired," she says, "This ritual may just summon one."

He appears before Baleruk, wearing simple, humble clothes. Yellow birds sit on his shoulders, silent and looking morose. Besides him is a woman. A black haired queen, garbed in riches unimaginable. Her entire body is clad in gold and

[00:56] * Afina tenses, suspecting these next foes will be far more difficult to overcome than the two sacrificed outside.
[00:56] <Jaela> So paragons of justice and righteousness do leave their comfy homes when it's their private affairs that are at stake. Jaela looks on with interest, knowing fully that if they were to turn hostile, they have already perished. Thus, there is no need to panic.

[01:01] <Kotono> At that the woman laughs. It is a throaty laugh, full bodied and full of scorn, "Were you not already my enemy, you would now be one. By all rights, their souls and lives are ours to quench."
[01:01] <Jaela> "Yeah, see? That's what I'm talking about. You're honest, Tiamat. I like that in my enemies."
[01:03] <Afina> Afina has to admit to herself, she does take an abiding pleasure in scouring their mark across the planes, leaving a permanent reminder for all to recall the reach of a world abandoned to die. "You were complacent. You should have been fighting each other, not holding to a convenient truce... with that ended perhaps you'll war properly, and Hell will become even more of a battleground. They don't send assassins after us, and they certainly don't come in person to finish the job! If you can do that, how about kicking the devils off Lifasa instead?"

[01:08] <Kotono> "But they will not die," Renbuu speaks, a croaking, triuphant noise, "You forget the realm you have come to. Would you challenge them in a realm that favors them? Would you challenge ME? They have created art! Beautiful art that pleases me!"
[01:09] <Jaela> "What, you're sad for Baleruk? Then uncurse him! Or is it just that hard to pick up the good fight against Tiamat and Hell? She lives there, so it must be fucking scary to even think about it."
[01:12] <Afina> "Yes, we meddle," Afina replies boldly, "Our young, insignificant, tiny world never mattered to you before. Well it matters, now, even as a broken husk! This is the price of your complacency!" she points at Bahamut, "This is the price of your collaboration!" her finger turns to Tiamat. "The order of the planes is broken."
[01:13] <Kotono> "Such gall," Tiamat sniffs, "Were it merely killing him, 'twould be done. No. Hear these words, Baleruk! By the power you have unleashed, you are forever damned. No dragon will bow to you, no worship from dragons will ever empower you. No dragons will gain magic from you. What you sought is the price for your power." [01:24] <Kotono> "Hmph, you think to command me, slaad spawn," Tiamat tosses her hair, "But the pact is complete and the curse is laid. We'll play again, darlings. Your little fortress would make a lovely addition to my hoard, hm?"
[01:24] <Ithea> "Should have done something when Lifasa was invaded, when it's survivors were struggling to find purpose, when we were seeking allies, when so many moments passed and went...not when 'oh look, these mortals are doing something I don't like', don't you think?" Ithea says in almost a whisper.

[01:25] * Afina hisses somewhat at the burning but composes herself. "It was your choice to hold Tiamat's goodwill over ours," she tells Bahamut, before telling Tiamat, "We'll stop by when we come for Bel."

[01:30] <Kotono> With that the two fade, a moment of silence. Renbuu's colorful, froglike face looks at you a moment, as you feel a surge of roiling energy in each of you! "Chaos shall heed your spells," Renbuu proclaims, then turns to Baleruk - just in time for the newly born prismatic dragon to scream! It is a scream of utter agony and loss, anguish terrible and catastrophic!

[19:50] <Shao_Koahn> How long Baleruk screams is uncertain. Time seems to descend into a maelstrom of fury. At some point during it Renbuu leaves, there one moment and the next not. The screams of the newly born prismatic dragon echo about his lair, the acid shining rainbow colors and the rusted metal turning in to what looks to be a shell or ivory like material shining with the light of all the colors of the

Fluttering closer to Baleruk's head, she speaks, "Whatever Tiamat's curse has denied you, you have still taken a step towards ascending. Focus on that, focus on your new power rather than what you've lost. In time you may yet surpass her despite such obstacles."

[19:59] <Shao_Koahn> "Revenge, eh?" Baleruk asks in a voice that is merely a whisper. As you talk, the acid floors and walls begin to sparkle, dissipating slowly into rainbow colored light.
[19:59] <Jaela> "I know, right? This is bullshit," Jaela tells Kascha firmly. "We'll appeal to your goddess and see how she likes it. If she stays out of it, we'll find another goddess until something sticks."

[20:04] <Jaela> "Yes, yes." Jaela waves her off. "Listen, Kascha, first we have to get back. I can drop you off at the Cauldron or whichever after. Can you hold it together for now?"
[20:04] <Shao_Koahn> "It is..." Baleruk slowly rises, as the floor beneath you fades. All around you are bands of the strange rainbow material, open air now. Everything is the color of the rainbows, exploding out, "Yes! TIAMAT WILL SUFFER FOR DARING TO OPPOSE ME! I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS! I WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS! THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!"
[20:05] * Ithea rubs her eyes at the explosion of colors.
[20:05] <Afina> "That's the spirit," Afina approves, even if she has to flutter a bit backwards from the volume. "So does our pact still hold, with the addition of Tiamat to our enemies? Will you join us on Aurora and lend your might to the Crusade?"
[20:05] <Shao_Koahn> "I-" Kascha begins as she begins to float, righting herself a moment with her wings. "Ooops! Right. I can get there myself if you're busy."
[20:06] <Jaela> "Nah, don't be like that. Of course I'm coming with you," Jaela tells her. "I made a vow that I'll accept responsibility for everything, and this is part of it. Just give us... what, a few hours tops?"
[20:07] <Shao_Koahn> "Let us go to this Aurora. It will make a suitable throne for my victory against Tiamat." Baleruk rises, massive wings flapping. Somehow he turns with the grace of an angel in the air, far more smooth than any other dragon before. "You shall all bear witness to the end of Tiamat!"
[20:07] * Jaela gives Baleruk thumbs up for that worthy goal!
[20:08] <Ithea> "Anything that needs to be packed or whatever from here?" Ithea asks.
[20:08] <Afina> Job done, Afina flies over towards Jaela in readiness for plane shifting.
[20:10] <Shao_Koahn> "This place has serves its purpose," Baleruk declares, "It is nothing now."
[20:10] * Jaela makes sure to collect Val'Finnegan and then awaits for Kascha's agreement. Once she has that, it would be a simple matter to shift them to just outside the Aurora.
[20:13] <Shao_Koahn> The shift passes, leaving the party before Aurora once more! The moment you arrive Baleruk spreads his wings and takes off, flying around it.
[20:15] <Jaela> "Kascha?" Jaela asks the shell-shocked scholar, as soon as that is taken care of. "Is there anyone who serves your goddess that is highly placed but isn't a dragon?"
[20:15] * Afina goes in as well to help make sure everyone knows Baleruk's with them... also with Hope and Arrel likely flying around she'll see if Bahamut was serious about his influence.
