[20:12] <Jaela> With the recent ability to summon a favored servant of her goddess revealing itself to Jaela just before she was about to take a trip to Arvandor and look for one such, she cannot help but take it as a divine sign! And so, Jaela finds a quiet place in a garden, borrowing a room at the Graceful Blow's tower, and quite respectfully requests that Lady Angharradh send her a matchless healer, one specializing in bringing people back from beyond!
[20:20] <Kotono> Forming the circle and chanting, Jaela calls on her patron's support! Beneath her, seven interlocking rings appear, each one glowing with celestial symbols. With the final words of the incantation, a flash of light dazzles both Jaela and Ithea! The light is potent enough to prevent you from immediately seeing what you have summoend. A creature floating in the air - humanoid, wearing a hooded
[20:20] <Kotono> friar's brown robe. His head is bowed, a crown of light blazing around his hooded head. In a quiet, introspective voice, he asks, "You have called me, Jaela of Angharradh. By the ancient pacts and your faith I have come to this place. What is it that you will desire from me?"
[20:22] * Ithea just observes quietly for now!
[20:26] <Jaela> "Thank you for coming," Jaela says, trying to keep herself from frowning. Of course he would know her name! But now her greeting is ruined, only a moron would repeat her own name when it is already known and geez he's waiting for her to continue. "Really. Thanks." She nods curtly. "I want to ask you for two things. One is that I want to offer our fallen friends another chance. They've had time to stay in the afterlife, now, and they're not as weary as they were before. Take one of them, Elrisa. We're about to go and free her friends from the prisons they're being kept in. She might want to be here for that, and I want that chance to be offered to her. I want it offered for Belsa, Mann, Roar, Hilt and Amit as well. Can we see to that, and discuss the second service afterwards?"
[20:29] <Kotono> "No." The creature before you speaks. It has a man's build, but its posture is humble. "The spell allows for only one service to be negiotated. Ponder this and ask again."
[20:30] <Jaela> Now she does frown. "Okay. Don't suppose that service can be 'become my ally', umm-- I can get your name for free, right?"
[20:32] <Kotono> "The limits of the task-" He begins, "Summoner, do you not know your own magic?" A hint of reproach is heard in his voice, "You may call me Priest."
[20:35] <Jaela> It's not even summoning! He's really here! Jaela struggles not to cross her arms petulantly before her chest. "Sure I do! But if you like me and I like you, then you can always stay by my side! Or come on your own after! It's a really great Crusade for a really great cause, you know!" She claps once. "Right. Sorry about that. The second thing was that I wanted to ask you for some life consultation, but others come first. If I have to choose, of course I'm choosing my allies and friends! There!"
[20:38] <Kotono> "Summoner, you wish for me to attempt to return the dead to life, is that correct? Did the deceased worship the Triune Goddess?"
[20:40] <Jaela> "I think Elrisa's faith ran more for the Seldarine as a whole. I know for certain that her soul rests in Arvandor. I took her there myself. For the others, I can't say."
[20:43] * Ithea thinks it's unlikely that any of the others would have worshiped the Seldarine, but she didn't really know them personally.
[20:43] <Kotono> "I can attempt to do so. Before I continue, be warned that the odds of success are low. Calling those who have reached their final judgment back is rarely successful." The light-shrouded figure looks to Jaela. He is clean-shaven, face serene and clear white, like new-frozen ice. "I can attempt, but I cannot guarantee success, or even promise it as likely. Is this acceptable to you?"
[20:45] <Jaela> "I understand that! I'm not a child, you know. Can you just tell them that I'm waiting here to fight along with them once more, and so are everyone else in the Aurora? As long as they know that and make their final choice, I'm fine with it."
[20:48] <Kotono> "I will do so. In exchange, I request that you donate 2,000 gold to the church of the Triune Goddess, so that her wisdom can continue to support all those of follow the Fellowship of the Forest."
[20:50] <Jaela> "Sure! I can even build a temple here-- hey, that's a good idea. Anyway, I'm good for it." Jaela gives him a thumbs up. "Let's do this!"
[20:51] <Kotono> "Then it shall be done." Priest steps forward, "Are the bodies intact?" You can see that his features are elven, though no sign of aging or imperfection mars them. As he comes closer, a sense of gentle peace falls over both Ithea and Jaela.
[20:55] <Jaela> "Umm. I wouldn't exactly say that." Normally, she would be fidgeting at this oversight, if not outright panicking, but the Priest sure is handy! "Elrisa's is interred at Arvandor. The others are down at the memorial hall. Does it actually matter for resurrection? No one told me, you know."
[20:57] <Kotono> "It is not essential, but I must have detailed information about them if the body is not available." Priest replies, "The bodies will do for the others, and if you can provide me information on this Elrisa, I can attempt her as well."
[20:57] <Jaela> "We have her likeness there," Jaela agrees, "and I can tell you all about her on the way."
[21:00] <Kotono> As you head out of Elrisa's tower and into the courtyard, Priest pauses to look about. He takes in Aurora and the Courtyard - the Master at work training with Willim and others, the lycanthropes and firre at some sort of practice game of javelin tossing, Baleruk flying above, and Arrel and Kascha animatedly debate. "So the whispers of rumor are truthful," he allows, "This is Aurora, once known
[21:00] <Kotono> as Medicant?"
[21:02] <Ithea> "Hah, the new name is finally spreading around, is it?" Ithea asks back with amusement.
[21:07] <Jaela> "I doubt all rumors are true," Jaela muses. "But some, certainly. We had a sorta rough start, but we're trying to keep focused now. Acting against the devils, and for freeing any oppressed worlds. Those are good goals to have, don't you think?"
[21:09] <Kotono> "They are," Priest agrees as he follows Jaela and Ithea. Into the entrance hall you go. Lief flutters around the golems that stand at the ready. Near them a pack of 10 or so dire wolves are curled up, watching him. Near the portals, Dana sits and drinks from a frothy mug of ale or some such, while Sylvie kneels by the portals, seemingly lost in some sort of study.
[21:12] * Jaela waves at Dana in passing, and nods at Lief and Sylvie each. "I'm actually about ready to go and try to take care of one problem from that rough start," Jaela confides in him. "Any chance you had contact with Tyr's clergy at some point recently? Recently for mortals, so in the past couple of decades, that is."
[21:13] <Kotono> "Hey," Dana calls casually, Lief fluttering along and dodging around each of you. Meanwhile Sylvie doesn't even look up, "Hold on," she mutters instead, "If that's the third rune and the fifth, ninth and twenty third are in flux with it...how the hell...?" she mutters.
[21:14] <Kotono> "I tell you," Dana takes a deep gulp of her booze, "Annalise has been working on those for awhile. Anyway," turning back, "Hey, got some new meat, you two?"
[21:15] <Ithea> "Just a visitor I think, Dana," Ithea answers.
[21:15] <Kotono> "Not in a long time. I deal with elven petitioners and mortal summoners," Priest explains as he follows, one green eye on the momentary distraction. "I'm rarely summoned by any but devout elves."
[21:17] <Jaela> "Priest, this is Dana," Jaela introduces her, pausing in her gait. "She's the rudest person here, and it really says a lot." To Dana, she corrects Ithea with a grin, "You never know what might happen, do you now?" That grin then turns back on the Priest. "I'm pretty devout despite how I look, too! Ready to fight for my beliefs, no matter who stands against them!"
[21:18] <Kotono> roll 1d20+45
[21:18] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+45 and gets 61." [1d20=16]
[21:19] <Kotono> "Yo," Dana raises a hand, "Nice to meet'cha, holy man. Don't let Jaela intimidate you, she's really just a big fluffy kitten if you get past her bitchy moments."
[21:19] <Jaela> "Don't you mean Ithea?" Jaela obediently asks, jerking her thumb in the catgirl's direction.
[21:20] <Ithea> "She said get past the bitchy moments, clearly she got it right," Ithea says drily.
[21:20] <Kotono> Priest doesn't reply right away, instead remaining impassively calm and letting things play out.
[21:21] <Kotono> "He cheated," Sylvie mutters in the meantime, "No wonder. Then the trick is to figure out how..." she goes on, voice low.
[21:21] <Kotono> "Yeah, yeah. One kitten, one big hunting cat," Dana shrugs, "Whatever gets your holes all wet."
[21:22] <Jaela> "Any chance of world-shattering revelations within the next hour or so? Jaela calls over to Sylvie, ignoring Dana.
[21:24] <Kotono> "Huh?" Sylvie looks and over her shoulder. "...oh." In one hand youc an see she has a prism out, glancing into it on occasion. "Probably not. If Annalise is as good as Dana says, I'd guess she already knows Medi cheated. That's the easy part. The hart part is figuring out how he did it."
[21:25] <Jaela> "That's cool. Good luck!" Continuing to ignore Dana, she starts heading for the portals once more.
[21:39] <Kotono> Into the portal the trio goes. Before you is the memorial hall. The wall ismostly empty still, only a few markings of the deceased thus far. "I shall begin now," Priest says, "Please don't interfere while I work."
[21:40] <Jaela> "Of course. Oh-- hold on a sec? Elena! Keep the portal here closed until we're done, okay?"
[21:40] * Ithea nods and moves to the side, letting the priest do his work.
[21:43] <Kotono> Elena appears and nods, "Sure!" he says, before vanishing. At this...
[21:43] <Kotono> roll 5#1d100
[21:43] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 5#1d100 and gets 304." [5#1d100 = 89, 4, 74, 58, 79]
[21:46] <Kotono> Calling on the Gods of the Seladrine, Priest works! Of them all only Mann stirs, returning to life! The other four do not, nor does Elrisa. "It is done," Priest concludes, "One answered the call. Your Elrisa did not even listen. It may be that she has moved on entirely, or incarnated and been reborn as a celestial spirit, or recinarnated otherwise, or is in the presence of one who does not wish
[21:46] <Kotono> to lose her."
[21:48] <Jaela> "Not even listening kinda hurts," Jaela mutters. But she can't be down over that; Jaela puts that all behind her and comes over to Mann, offering him a hand. "Welcome back to the Crusade!"
[21:50] * Ithea nods and adds her own "Welcome back," into the mix.
[21:51] <Kotono> "T-thanks," he says, shaky on his feet. He's a well built man, muscled and looking rather out of it. "Trees of gold, fruit of life, so many skies..."
[21:53] <Jaela> "Hey, good news! We fixed up more of the place in the meantime! Got a hot springs now and everything!"
[21:55] <Kotono> Mann manages a weak smile at that, as meanwhile Priest watches, "It is done," he announces, "There is no need for a final report, is there?"
[21:55] <Jaela> "Oh, that-- hey, Elena! Help me out for a sec!"
[21:59] <Kotono> Elena appears, "Hm?" Her face has a look of pique, mop in one hand, dripping water all over the floor.
[22:01] <Jaela> "I won't ask. Listen, I need to see Priest out or it's rude, so can you stand for me and help Mann out? I'll be back really soon," Jaela tells her, before glancing at the Priest. "The whole place has a dimensional lock, so let me take you past it." She heads for the portal, and redirects it for the roof.
[22:01] <Kotono> In an instant, the two are on the roof as desired.
[22:06] <Jaela> "I guess we could've come to the courtyard instead, but I kinda wanted you to see the Aurora," Jaela admits, gesturing about her with both arms spread wide. "Maybe even tell about it to your buddies back home? But really. We could use you. I'm just about the best healer we've got, and you saw where that lead. Me calling you. Anyway. Lady Angharradh thinks it's a worthy cause. I dunno what I did to have so much trust put in me, but there it is. If you ever think, upon getting back, that you'd like to help us out or even just help protect the refugees of Lifasa we've got with us, I want you to know you're always welcome."
[22:14] <Kotono> "Your cause is a powerful one," Priest says at last, "It is as was spoken. I will remember your words..." With that Priest fades away, the spell completed.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake
