[19:34] <@Kotono> -----
[19:35] <@Kotono> As the rush of battle wears off, the party finds loot, gil and victory ahead of them. The imps and spiders are defeated, Ebenezer coming forward, "Good work," he says, "Good work!"
[19:36] * @Janus rolls his shoulders, nodding slightly to Ebenezer before looking to the rest of the group. "Let's get this covered back up before we get moving again?"
[19:38] <Morrie> "I wish to return here after we've accomplished our current goal... perhaps after we gather more information, as well."
[19:38] * AutumnCrow flicks the imp and spider blood off her scarf before sliding it back into place and nodding to Janus, "Indeed."
[19:39] <@Kotono> "As do I," Ebenezer says, "Ooooh, but we will need to be prepared and careful." Going up to the tent, "Fortunate! Do any of you know what a tent is?"
[19:40] <AutumnCrow> "As far as I've come since leaving home, I should hope I know what a tent is." Crow replies witha bit of sarcasm.
[19:41] > "Yes, definitely. It's a curiousity, but right now we have priorities." To Ebenezer, "I've never actually used one, to be honest."
[19:41] <@Kotono> "Of course, of course. You're experienced," He says, "I can carry it if you like, since it's only useful if we need to rest."
[19:42] > "Heh. Thanks!" Janus nods, cracking his knuckles.
[19:43] <@Kotono> Once the tent is collected, the party seals the canvas covering back up. Once done they proceed onward...(More)

[19:43] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:43] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 22." [1d100=22]
[19:45] <@Kotono> You wander on. The afternoon becomes the first taste of evening as you travel ahead. The hills are becoming mountains. Before you is a winding mountain path, leading up and up and up! Ebenezer peers up, one hand over the brim of his hat, "The cave shouldn't be far up," he says.
[19:46] * Morrie looks around with a frown. "Hm...?"
[19:47] <Morrie> "Did anyone else feel that...?"
[19:47] <AutumnCrow> "Rather steep path." Crow comments while looking up...before turning to Morrie, "No..."
[19:47] <AutumnCrow> Still, she had learned to trust his sense, and her hand went to the handle of her fan.
[19:48] > "No, but you were right last time..." Janus, too, swings his staff out, before glaring at it angrily.
[19:48] <@Kotono> "Eh?" Ebenezer says, "Monsters again? You detected that group before last."
[19:49] <Morrie> "I felt the earth... hm..."
[19:49] <@Kotono> As the party prepares and looks around? From the hill behind you it approaches! A massive, galloping horse! Foam comes from its mouth, it's equine face screwed up into a look of profound fury! It's eyes are focused right on Ebenezer as it gallops at you!
[19:49] * AutumnCrow calmly steps between it and Ebenezer, fan snapping out ready to do battle.
[19:51] <@Kotono> "Another one?" Ebenezer steps back, "The Mad Pony!" he calls, "Beware, it's strong! It's like a hurricane that strikes everyone...ack!" He hops back as the horse continues to head right for him! OOC: It's in close range to y'all. Go ahead and act since you guys aren't surprised or anything. Open Santos.

[19:52] > "Wait, this is the horse you warned us about!" Janus curses. "Goddamn, we're not having good luck today!"
[19:52] <@Santos> "It's a horse. Mad or not, how tough can it be?" Santos asks rhetorically.
[19:52] * @Santos attacks the horse, trying to prove this fact.
[19:52] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[19:52] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 8." [2d6=5, 1]
[19:52] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit. Damage.
[19:52] <@Santos> roll 1d6 reroll 1
[19:52] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 1d6 reroll 1 and gets 6." [1d6=6]
[19:52] <@Santos> ooc: 21 damage
[19:52] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 16'

[19:54] <@Kotono> Santos comes charging in, striking the enrage horse's side! It's a solid blow, but the moment he hits? The horse flies into a terrible fury! Suddenly it's charging all over, kicking and thrashing about, amid all of you! OOC: Spending a point of destiny to use a standard action as an interrupt. It's attacking.
[19:54] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+5 AVD and ARM, all.
[19:54] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+5 AVD and ARM, all. and gets 11." [2d6=3, 3]
[19:54] <AutumnCrow> OOC: AVD is not 11, no ARM. Can I counterattack this?
[19:55] <@Santos> ooc: ADV is 50! No, it's less. ARM is 4. And ditto on counter.
[19:55] <@Kotono> OOC: After I reserve all of this, certainly.
[19:55] <@Kotono> OOC: Resolve.
[19:55] > OOC: AVD 5, ARM 2
[19:55] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 11/18 Crow: 26/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 16'
[19:56] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 11/18 Crow: 26/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 16 | Ebenezer 9'
[19:56] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 11/18 Crow: 26/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 14/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 16 | Ebenezer 9'
[19:56] <@Kotono> OOC: Morrie?
[19:57] <Morrie> OOC: Oops sorry.
[19:57] <Morrie> OOC: 6 and 4.
[19:57] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 11/18 Crow: 26/37 Morrie: 21/28 Janus: 14/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 16 | Ebenezer 9'
[19:58] <@Kotono> The Mad Pony runs wild amid the party! Morrie and Santos catch back kicks, sending them sprawling out!  Autumn gets trampled down while Janus gets a horse bite right in the shoulder! Poor Ebenezer is then back kicked as well, falling into a groaning heap on the ground, hat down and covering his face! "Curses...! Morrie, Janus..." he groans, as...OOC: Interrupt over. Counters, you two.
[19:59] * @Santos keeps pounding on the mad pony, grunting as he's kicked.
[19:59] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[19:59] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 7." [2d6=3, 2]
[19:59] <@Santos> roll d6 reroll 2
[19:59] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls d6 reroll 2 and gets 1." [d6=1]
[19:59] <@Kotono> OOC: Miss, Santos. Autumn.
[19:59] <@Santos> ooc: boo
[19:59] * AutumnCrow sees the thicknes of it's hide, and shifts her stance, snapping her fan out to slap it right across the nose!(Counterattack. Formless Strike, hitting M.ARM)
[19:59] <AutumnCrow> roll 2d6+2 counter
[19:59] * Hatbot --> "AutumnCrow rolls 2d6+2 counter and gets 6." [2d6=1, 3]
[20:00] <@Kotono> OOC: HAtebot. Miss.
[20:00] <@Kotono> The two strike back, but the Mad Pony is too fast! It's galloping up and around, kicking up dust and stones as it gallops! OOC: Crow, you're up now.
[20:01] <AutumnCrow> "Hmm...need more reach." Swapping weapons quickly, Crow tries to strike at the frenzied pony with a whiplike crack of her sash!
[20:01] <AutumnCrow> roll 2d6+2 sash attack. Still using Formless Strike
[20:01] * Hatbot --> "AutumnCrow rolls 2d6+2 sash attack. Still using Formless Strike and gets 9." [2d6=3, 4]
[20:02] <@Kotono> OOC: That hits.
[20:02] <AutumnCrow> OOC: 13 damage. Hits M.ARM.
[20:02] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 11/18 Crow: 26/37 Morrie: 21/28 Janus: 14/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 29 | Ebenezer 9'

[20:02] <Morrie> "I'll take care of us, Janus, you focus on defeating it."
[20:03] <@Kotono> roll 1d100 forgot it had counterattack, DM derp up until now
[20:03] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 forgot it had counterattack, DM derp up until now and gets 30." [1d100=30]
[20:03] <@Kotono> The smack hits it right on the nose, making its head recoil back! A snort follows as the best whirls around towards her and kicks - HARD!
[20:03] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+5
[20:03] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+5 and gets 14." [2d6=4, 5]
[20:03] > "You sure?" Janus glances back. "I've got one blast waiting for it - I'll fall back after this. Not sure how much luck I'll have in hitting it, myself
[20:03] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 11/18 Crow: 11/37 Morrie: 21/28 Janus: 14/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 29 | Ebenezer 9'
[20:04] <@Kotono> Crow gets a pair of equine hooves right in the face in return, both of them sporting bloodied and bruised noses after the exchange! OOC: Morrie.
[20:05] <Morrie> OOC: Are they on "Mountain" right now?
[20:05] <@Kotono> OOC: Yes.
[20:05] <AutumnCrow> "Tch!" Crow spits blood out and GLARES at the mad pony, "I will put a SADDLE on your CORPSE for that, beast!"
[20:06] <@Santos> "...why would that be an insult? At least say you'll feed his corpse to a potion factory or something. That makes more sense, right?" Santos comments, pausing to look at the injured monk with confusion.
[20:06] * Morrie will reach up to the skies above (higher and higher, oh I want to fry...) in order to bring down a Sun Bath onto the team.
[20:06] <Morrie> roll 2d6+3 healing
[20:06] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+3 healing and gets 13." [2d6=5, 5]
[20:07] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 24/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 29 | Ebenezer 9'
[20:07] <@Kotono> Sun shines down from the evening sky, the sunset giving birth to warm noontime sunlight! The wounds of the party mend away as...OOC: Go Janus.
[20:07] <@Kotono> Ebenezer manages to stumble up, then kneels. He puts his staff in front of him, as if holding the pony at bay.
[20:08] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 24/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 29 | Ebenezer 0'
[20:08] <AutumnCrow> "Because wild animals don't like being domesticated!" Crow snaps back, "It's like putting a soldier in a frilly dress or something."
[20:09] > Janus curses, rubbing his shoulder. "Okay. Wolves? I can deal with wolves. Spiders, imps? Fine. But this just crossed my bullshit registry. Whatever the fuck you are..." As the staff gloves and scythes of wind begin arcing toward the horse, "GET. BENT!"
[20:09] > roll 2d6+28
[20:09] * Hatbot --> "Janus rolls 2d6+28 and gets 33." [2d6=4, 1]
[20:09] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 24/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (12/14 MP) | Mad Pony 62 | Ebenezer 0'
[20:10] <@Santos> "...You people are all weird," Santos comments flatly.
[20:10] <@Kotono> OOC: Adjust your MP, Janus.
[20:10] * Janus changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 24/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (4/14 MP) | Mad Pony 62 | Ebenezer 0'
[20:10] <@Kotono> The windstorm slams into the pony, tossing it into the air and down! It lands with a bonejarring thud - but somehow gets up, before charging amid everyone again!
[20:10] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+5 attacking everyone, will scroll up as needed
[20:10] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+5 attacking everyone, will scroll up as needed and gets 14." [2d6=4, 5]
[20:11] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 7/18 Crow: 9/37 Morrie: 17/28 Janus: 9/22 (4/14 MP) | Mad Pony 62 | Ebenezer 0'
[20:12] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 7/18 Crow: 9/37 Morrie: 17/28 Janus: 9/22 (4/14 MP) | Mad Pony 62 | Ebenezer 15'

[20:13] <@Kotono> Again the horse sends the party flying! Kicks and bites savage the entire party! This time Ebenezer is hit up, end over end, like a football! He lands a good fifty feet away in a heap! "Watch out...for counterattacks..." he groans! OOC: Going to counter, yo utwo?
[20:13] <AutumnCrow> OOC: I can only counter 1/combat, which is why I swapped weapons.
[20:13] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay.
[20:13] <@Kotono> OOC: That apply to you too, Santos?
[20:15] <@Santos> ooc: I can counter twice a combat!
[20:15] <@Kotono> OOC: Goign to?
[20:16] <@Santos> ooc: sure why not.
[20:16] <@Santos> "The horse should watch for my counterattacks!" Santos declares as he tries to bap it hard in the snout!
[20:16] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[20:16] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 7." [2d6=3, 2]
[20:16] <@Santos> roll d6 reroll 2
[20:16] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls d6 reroll 2 and gets 5." [d6=5]
[20:16] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit. DAmage?
[20:16] <@Santos> ooc: 18
[20:16] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 7/18 Crow: 9/37 Morrie: 17/28 Janus: 9/22 (4/14 MP) | Mad Pony 75 | Ebenezer 15'
[20:17] <@Kotono> Santos strikes the Mad Pony hard! AT this you hear bones breaking, a sharp impact along it's chest! The horse staggers back but is still up! OOC: Go Santos.
[20:17] * @Santos follows it up by pushing deeper in, spinning around and slamming the tonfa against the mad beast's neck next.
[20:18] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[20:18] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 9." [2d6=1, 6]
[20:18] <@Santos> roll d6 reroll 1
[20:18] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls d6 reroll 1 and gets 2." [d6=2]
[20:18] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit. Damage?
[20:18] <@Santos> ooc: 18 damage
[20:18] <@Kotono> roll 3#1d100
[20:18] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 3#1d100 and gets 190." [3#1d100 = 57, 42, 91]
[20:18] * Morrie frowns at the fact that they're more or less killing a wild animal, but it DID attack them first, after all...
[20:19] <@Kotono> With that final blow, the Mad Pony stumbles back and over! It lands on its side, not moving any more! As it lies there you can see it dropped a shield and a pair of leather gloves, as well as some gil! OOC: Post. Free act.

[20:21] > "Okay. NOW I'm basically tapped out." Janus gripes, dropping his staff before turning to Ebenezer. "Stand still and lemme examine your injuries. This shouldn't take long, so long as you don't squirm."
[20:21] <@Santos> "...Man, who'd it kill last?" Santos mutters as he sees the shield and gloves for the first time.
[20:21] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (4/14 MP)'
[20:23] <@Kotono> As the party tends to its wounds? Ebenezer sits up slowly, looking about. "I'm okay," he finally says, "What did it drop?"
[20:23] > "Ask the others, I've not looked yet. This is gonna sting a second, Ebenezer."
[20:23] * AutumnCrow kicks the beast in it's dead snout one more time for good measure, then wipes her feet off on it's mane and wraps her scarf back around her, seeming perfectly calm once she faces the group again.
[20:25] * @Santos passes the shield to Autumn. "Want to place it on it's back?" he asks with a small amused look.
[20:25] <@Kotono> "I wi-OW!" Wincing as his wounds are tended to, "Perhaps that tent is a godsend and we should use it before going on?" he asks.
[20:25] <@Santos> "As close to a saddle as you're going to get."
[20:26] <AutumnCrow> "Don't be rediculous, that's a toboggan." Crow replies with a smile, "Though I recall seeing a few warriors wearing them on thier arms for some strange reason."
[20:27] > "That's everyone else's issue. I could use it, no lie, but I'm basically ready to rumble. Just... won't be able to knock things over for a bit." Janus says, before giving Santos and Crow a strange look. "Did you guys go stupid on me or did I miss something?"
[20:27] * Janus changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (7/14 MP)'
[20:28] <@Santos> "No, I'm simply trying to lend a hand with her desire to place a saddle on his corpse. You'll remember she did state such a wish," Santos snorts back to the white mage.
[20:29] <AutumnCrow> Ignoring Santos, Crow checks out the gloves.
[20:29] <@Santos> "And I'm good to go whenever. Sunny skies and all that seem to be keeping me healthy, so no reason to stop and take a rest."
[20:30] <@Kotono> Standing up then, "Then we should keep going. The cave entrance shouldn't be far."
[20:30] > "She did?" Janus glanced to Santos. "Musta been too pissed to hear that. Morrie, how're you faring?"
[20:31] <AutumnCrow> "Well...better then nothing, I suppose. Though they don't match ANYTHING." Crow shrugs and cleans off the gloves before seeing how they fit.
[20:31] <@Kotono> The gloves fit well enough.
[20:32] <Morrie> "Ebenezer... how long had that horse been rampaging this area?"
[20:32] <@Kotono> "Um," Pausing a moment, "I've heard stories going back at least a few months, if not longer. Quite possibly at least a year."
[20:33] <@Santos> "Was there any reward on its head?" Santos asks, figuring that's what Morrie was aiming for.
[20:34] <@Kotono> "As a matter of fact, I think there is a bounty," Ebenezer says after some thought, "Or at least there probably will be."
[20:34] <AutumnCrow> "Well I suppose without someone like Morrie along, it would run right over a group of warriors with little fuss." Crow notes, grudgingly respectful of the beast's speed at least,.
[20:35] <Morrie> "...As much as I hate to defile a corpse like that, we should bring some peace and mind to the citizens."
[20:35] <@Kotono> OOC: Going to take some part of it along with you, then?
[20:35] <AutumnCrow> "Some peace of mind to our purses wouldn't hurt either."
[20:35] > "Oh, I know!" Janus smirks. "Cut the head off so Crow can ride it like a wooden horse!"
[20:36] * AutumnCrow smiles sweetly at Janus, though there isn't any smile in her eyes at all, "I'm sorry, did you say something?"
[20:36] * Morrie will look over the corpse to see if perhaps there's something notable they can take.
[20:37] > "...nah, nothing, stupid idea." Janus says, suddenly looking sheepish.
[20:37] <@Kotono> OOC: Morrie, make a Snythesis check.
[20:37] <@Kotono> OOC: Yes, that's the right skill.
[20:37] <Morrie> OOC: ...you're the boss!
[20:38] <Morrie> roll 2d6+4 Synthesis
[20:38] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+4 Synthesis and gets 13." [2d6=6, 3]
[20:42] * Morrie will kneel down next to the horse's head and hold his hand out near the ground, a sharp piece of earth rising up quickly that cleanly removes it from the rest of the body!
[20:42] * AutumnCrow nods, with a nearly imperceptable chuckle, and practices manipulating her fan with the gloves on for a bit while someone recovered a horse part.
[20:42] <@Kotono> Thus the head is easily detached! "Are we ready to continue then?" he asks. OOC: Ready to go along? Also loot post.
[20:43] <@Santos> "Yes."
[20:43] > "Sure, let's do this."
[20:43] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[20:43] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 83." [1d100=83]

[20:44] <@Kotono> Thus the party proceeds along. Up the stony path you go, soon enough coming to a little cleft in the mountainside. It's easy to miss, yet Ebenezer stops right here. "Here," he says, pointing it out. "Right in here."
[20:44] <Morrie> "I'll hold onto this."
[20:44] * @Janus nods to Morrie. "Thanks." Then, glancing to Ebenezer, Janus produces a small light at the tip of his staff. "Alright. I guess we go in?"
[20:45] <AutumnCrow> "Hmm. Should we camp so that Janus is at his full magical compliment before going in?" Crow asks, then looks to Ebenezer, "Or do you think there will be a suitable campsite inside somewhere?"
[20:45] * Zeph (~Zephylin@216.146.234.59) has joined #dunes
[20:46] <@Kotono> "Mmm, that's a good question!" Ebenezer says, "There's been three monster attacks in one day. We could go on, but the wise money would be on resting. Better that we don't regret it, yes?"
[20:46] <@Santos> "If you insist. You're the boss, after all."
[20:48] > After a pause, Janus shrugs and turns off the light on his staff. "Let's just camp, then."
[20:48] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Going to use the tent or go without it?
[20:49] <AutumnCrow> OOC: Janus gets boosted MP back from Travel Rest anyway, doesn't he? Do we need the tent?
[20:49] > OOC: Janus will do fine if we don't use the tent; I guess the only risk is monster attack. Let's try going without.
[20:49] <@Kotono> OOC: Main advantage is that the tent prevents possible ambushes and fuckery, really.
[20:49] > OOC: That. Being a gambling man, though, I'll say go without.
[20:49] <@Kotono> OOC: Without then, okay. Going to keep any sort of watch?
[20:50] <AutumnCrow> OOC: save the tent for inside, if we need to rest in the dungeon? And Crow will take morning watch so she can make breakfast.
[20:50] <Morrie> OOC: I think we'll be fine.
[20:50] > OOC: Janus can take first shift.
[20:51] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay then.
[20:51] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[20:51] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 73." [1d100=73]
[20:51] <@Kotono> The night passes without incident. After a quick breakfast, the cave entrance awaits the party. OOC: Restore MP, Janus. ACt y'all.
[20:53] * AutumnCrow finishes cleaning up the breakfast mess from her small travel cookery kit. It's really supposed to only be big enough for two, but she makes do by cooking in shifts. Putting everything away, she gets up and practices fast-snapping her fan open one more time, nodding at the result. "Well, I'm ready when you boys are."
[20:53] * Janus changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP)'
[20:54] > "Wow, thanks!" Janus yawns, waking up slowly. "Didn't know you were a chef!"
[20:55] <AutumnCrow> "Well, my father always said a woman should know how to cook." Crow shrugged, though was clearly preening a bit from the compliment, "Of course he never said this within earshot of my mother, or she'd have cooked for him."
[20:56] <@Santos> "Your mom didn't like cooking?"
[20:58] <AutumnCrow> "Less not liking cooking and more..." Crow struggled with just how to put this, "Well, lets just say she can do almost as much damage in the kitchen as she can the battlefield. And she's the High Lady of the Autumn Temple, Grand Master of the Four Seasons style of kung-fu." She let the implication rest.
[20:58] <@Kotono> Ebenezer rises, "Truly so? Fascinating. Could you tell us more as we go in?"
[20:59] * Zeph (~Zephylin@216.146.234.59) Quit (Ping timeout)
[20:59] > "...so she cooks with spices?" Janus asks quizzically, chewing away energetically at the food before nodding to Ebenezer. "Shur, lefs goh."
[20:59] <Morrie> "She was bad at cooking."
[20:59] <AutumnCrow> "Bad is an understatement," Crow nods, and heads into the cave.
[21:00] <Morrie> "It sounds like it."
[21:01] > "Ah." Janus says before finishing his food, lighting the staff and following Crow in.

[21:02] <@Kotono> Head in, you find it takes a bit of squeezing to get through the cleft. Once inside is a typical, dull gray cave. Nothing interesting as you first go alone, save for the occasional drip of moisture or bit of moss on the walls. After a few turns you come to an intersection. The path continues ahead before it slopes downward and there's a turn to the right that goes on a ways into darkness.
[21:03] * @Janus idly scans the walls for any interesting lichen or moss that could be used in healing, though his eyes mostly wind up glancing to Ebenezer. "Any idea on the route?"
[21:04] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a scavange check, Janus.
[21:05] <@Santos> "When in doubt, always go left, or in the direction of running water, I was always taught," Santos offers a suggestion, as he tries to listen for sounds of water from either direction.
[21:05] > roll 2d6+1 scavengan
[21:05] * Hatbot --> "Janus rolls 2d6+1 scavengan and gets 13." [2d6=6, 6]
[21:05] <@Kotono> "To the right, I believe," Ebenezer says after yanking out a bit of paper and studying it intensely.
[21:05] <@Santos> roll 2d6+3 awareness?
[21:05] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+3 awareness? and gets 6." [2d6=1, 2]
[21:09] <@Kotono> OOC: Going on then, y'all? Also, what's your walking order?
[21:10] <AutumnCrow> OOC: Santos > Crow > Morrie > Ebenezer > Janus is what I would suggest?
[21:10] > OOC: Going on to the right if Ebenezer's confident, and I figure I'm in the middle - need to be close to the front to provide light, but I'm probably not a wise choice for leader
[21:10] <Morrie> OOC: I'll go either first or second.
[21:10] <Morrie> OOC: But wherever is fine.
[21:10] > OOC: Santos > Morrie > Janus > Ebenezer > Crow to prevent back attacks work?
[21:10] <@Santos> OOC: I'm okay wherever! I'm a ninja, I can stick to walls and drop from above on evil stuff if I need to!
[21:11] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay then.
[21:12] <@Kotono> OOC: Santos, make an awareness check.
[21:12] > OOC: Santos and Morrie have the highest Awareness, they should take the front two slots. Crow and I surrounding Ebenezer should keep him protected, and I can fall back to let Crow get her ranged scarf hits off.
[21:12] <AutumnCrow> OOC: Scarf isn't actually ranged, but sure. I can just move up if I have to.
[21:14] <@Kotono> OOC: Santos?
[21:14] <@Santos> roll 2d6+3 awareness!
[21:14] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+3 awareness! and gets 13." [2d6=4, 6]
[21:15] <@Kotono> The party advances down the tunnel! It goes on to another curving turn. But as Santos approaches, he suddenly stops! A chill comes up his arms and back. That unmistakable feeling of hostile intent, of murderous violence about to be unleashed, is felt ahead.
[21:16] <@Santos> "Something dangerous up ahead," he whispers, gesturing for the others to stop.
[21:17] * Morrie frowns.
[21:17] * AutumnCrow stops, slipping her fan into her grip.
[21:18] * @Janus nods slightly, reaching his staff slightly forward to try and cast it into the light.
[21:19] * @Santos slowly moves forward again, focusing on what's ahead.
[21:19] <@Kotono> OOC: Make a stealth check, Santos?
[21:20] <Morrie> OOC: Waiting for that double 1 roll.
[21:20] <@Kotono> OOC: So am I.
[21:22] <@Santos> roll 2d6+3 stealth
[21:22] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+3 stealth and gets 12." [2d6=4, 5]
[21:22] <@Kotono> Santos creeps ahead! Peering just around, he can see a pair of Imps and another Grey Wolf! They're awaiting, just ahead and ready to pounce!
[21:24] * @Santos steps back to the group, having seen them all ready and waiting, he didn't want to just leap at them alone. Maybe one of the others had a flashbang or something to screw them up? "Imps. And another wolf," he whispers. "They're ready and waiting, as soon as we step into view."
[21:24] <Morrie> "I might be able to hit them with something... but only one of them, I think."
[21:25] <AutumnCrow> "Hmm. Well, better then nothing." Crow nods to Morrie, "Let Morrie soften them up and then go in for the fight?"
[21:26] > "Lovely." Janus mutters. "Ebenezer, stay back and keep and eye on our flanks, alert us if anything comes up from behind. Alright?" Then, to the group, "Alright. I can soften them up as well to make it easier for you two to deal with them?" A pause, then. "Well, Morrie should probably try first in case this is something that can snipe them without being seen. I'm going to get seen when I cast this, no question."
[21:28] <@Kotono> Ebenezer nods and steps back, moving slowly and quietly.

[21:29] * Morrie will take a step forward and put a hand on the wall.
[21:30] <@Kotono> OOC: What'cha using on them?
[21:32] <Morrie> OOC: The Cave Geotrance.
[21:32] <Morrie> OOC: Underground, derp.
[21:34] <Morrie> OOC: Logic would tell me I could only get one before the others would come though.
[21:34] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay, was nabbed a moment.
[21:34] <@Kotono> OOC: Snare then?
[21:35] <Morrie> OOC: Yessir.
[21:35] <@Kotono> OOC: Go for it.
[21:35] <@Kotono> OOC: Which one are you targeting?
[21:35] <Morrie> roll 2d6+2 to hit Imp 1
[21:35] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+2 to hit Imp 1 and gets 7." [2d6=3, 2]
[21:35] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit.
[21:36] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 '
[21:36] <Morrie> K, then that's... 15 damage to the Imp with an opposed Finesse check for Stop.
[21:36] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13'
[21:36] <@Kotono> OOC: Gof or it.
[21:36] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+2 finesse
[21:36] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+2 finesse and gets 9." [2d6=3, 4]
[21:36] <Morrie> OOC: I assume that's just another 2d6+Finesse?
[21:36] <@Kotono> OOC: Yes.
[21:36] <Morrie> roll 2d6+3 Finesse
[21:36] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+3 Finesse and gets 14." [2d6=5, 6]
[21:36] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 4)'
[21:36] <Morrie> OOC: And that lasts one round according to this
[21:37] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1)'
[21:37] <@Kotono> Abruptly there are shouts and yips ahead! With a snarl a gray wolf comes charging around the bend, followed by one of the imps! OOC: Initiative is on your side, y'all. Open Santos.
[21:37] * Morrie will press his hand into the wall of the cavern, erupting the earth around the corner and gripping one of the Imps, but of course no one can see that, but... well, there you go.
[21:39] * @Santos goes for the second imp, deciding to take care of the imps hard and fast, before they have a chance to blind any of them hopefully.
[21:39] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[21:39] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 9." [2d6=6, 1]
[21:39] <@Santos> roll d6 reroll 1
[21:39] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls d6 reroll 1 and gets 2." [d6=2]
[21:39] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit. Damage?
[21:39] <@Santos> ooc: 18
[21:39] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Imp 2 15'
[21:40] <@Kotono> WHAM! A solid hit right on the imp's side, slamming him good and hard before he can react further! OOC: Okay. Crow.
[21:40] <@Kotono> "Back's clear!" Ebenezer calls once the sounds of battle begin.
[21:40] * AutumnCrow darts up past the others towards the front, lashing out with her fan with a lunging strike at the same Imp that Santos just struck.
[21:41] <AutumnCrow> roll 2d6+2 formless strike
[21:41] * Hatbot --> "AutumnCrow rolls 2d6+2 formless strike and gets 11." [2d6=5, 4]
[21:41] <@Kotono> OOC: That also be a hit.
[21:41] <@Kotono> OOC: DAmage?
[21:41] <AutumnCrow> OOC: 15 M.ARM damage. Quick question, can I use an Immediate action right after my standard?
[21:41] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Imp 2 28'
[21:41] <@Kotono> OOC: Lemme check.
[21:42] <@Kotono> OOC: As many instant actionsas you like a round.
[21:43] * AutumnCrow snaps her fan back and spins into a dance step to evade any coming blows! (OOC: Spending combo count I just got to Boost. +1 Acc/Avd for the rest of the combat)
[21:43] <@Kotono> OOC: Noted. Okay, go Morrie.
[21:43] <Morrie> OOC: Will Imp 1 act before I get another turn?
[21:43] <Morrie> OOC: Or, rather, be un-stopped in order to act, I guess.
[21:43] <@Kotono> OOC: No.
[21:44] <Morrie> OOC: OK then!
[21:44] * Morrie leaves his hand where it is and will invoke the power of the Cave against the Grey Wolf!
[21:44] <Morrie> roll 2d6+2 to hit Grey Wolf!
[21:44] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+2 to hit Grey Wolf! and gets 8." [2d6=3, 3]
[21:45] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit.
[21:45] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Imp 2 28 Grey Wolf'
[21:45] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+2 finesse
[21:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+2 finesse and gets 10." [2d6=2, 6]
[21:46] <Morrie> roll 2d6+3 Finesse
[21:46] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+3 Finesse and gets 9." [2d6=1, 5]
[21:46] <@Kotono> OOC: Damage and make your finesse roll.
[21:46] <Morrie> OOC: nooo
[21:46] <Morrie> OOC: It's... 6+10, 16 damage
[21:46] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Imp 2 28 Grey Wolf 13'
[21:47] <@Kotono> A snare leaps up from the earth, envelping the wolf - but it snakes out of it quickly! OOC: Go Janus.
[21:49] > With a shake of his head, Janus raises his staff. "No real choice, I can't let you take anyone out!" With that, the staff flashes and a howling wind rips through the caverns, jaws of wind ripping at the grey wolf!
[21:50] > roll 2d6+28
[21:50] * Hatbot --> "Janus rolls 2d6+28 and gets 34." [2d6=3, 3]
[21:51] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Imp 2 28 Grey Wolf 44'

[21:51] <@Kotono> The grey wolf is hit head on, sent flyign back into the wall! The impact is loud enough to rattle bones, but it manages to get up! It sits on it's haunches and hoooooowls deeply! Abruptly, Janus's mind feels confused and clouded! OOC: Opposed finesse check vs confusion, Janus.
[21:51] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+2
[21:52] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+2 and gets 7." [2d6=1, 4]
[21:52] > roll 2d6 but I have no fin to finesse with
[21:52] * Hatbot --> "Janus rolls 2d6 but I have no fin to finesse with and gets 6." [2d6=2, 4]
[21:52] > er
[21:52] > ooc: 6+3 is 9, I win
[21:53] <@Kotono> But Janus shakes off the strange compulsion! Meanwhile the single imp strikes at one of his tormentors, blade going for Santos!
[21:53] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+4 AVD and ARM?
[21:53] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+4 AVD and ARM? and gets 11." [2d6=5, 2]
[21:53] <@Santos> ooc: Why do you even ask with +4 ACC? =p ARM is 4.
[21:53] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Imp 2 28 Grey Wolf 44'
[21:53] <@Kotono> OOC: Countering?
[21:53] <@Santos> ooc: Yessir
[21:53] <@Kotono> OOC: Go for it.
[21:54] * @Santos attempts to stab the imp right back! And by stab, Santos totally means to bludgeon it to death.
[21:54] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[21:54] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 11." [2d6=5, 4]
[21:54] <@Santos> ooc: 19 dmg
[21:54] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 (stopped 1) Grey Wolf 44'
[21:54] <@Kotono> roll 4#1d100
[21:54] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 4#1d100 and gets 235." [4#1d100 = 44, 92, 36, 63]
[21:55] <@Kotono> The imp is clobbered hard, collapsing in a heap! Gil spills out of a pocket, clattering on the ground! OOC: Go santos.
[21:55] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 Grey Wolf 44'
[21:56] <@Kotono> "You're doing fine," Ebenezer calls, "Remember, watch out for that howling or you'll be attacking the wrong targets!"
[21:57] * @Santos nods as he switches targets, focusing on the wolf now, twirling tonfa going for the beast's flank.
[21:57] <@Santos> roll 2d6+2
[21:57] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+2 and gets 13." [2d6=5, 6]
[21:57] <@Santos> ooc: 21 damage
[21:57] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13 Grey Wolf 62'
[21:58] <@Kotono> The wolf is struck again, whimpering and looking dazed from the blows! It's barely up! OOC: Crow.
[21:58] * AutumnCrow quickly circles the wolf, putting it between her self and Santos as she goes for its flank with a broad fan swipe!
[21:59] <AutumnCrow> roll 2d6+3 formless strike
[21:59] * Hatbot --> "AutumnCrow rolls 2d6+3 formless strike and gets 13." [2d6=5, 5]
[21:59] <AutumnCrow> OOC: 16 M.ARM damage
[21:59] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 13'
[21:59] <@Kotono> roll 2#1d100
[21:59] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2#1d100 and gets 127." [2#1d100 = 44, 83]
[21:59] <@Kotono> With a solid blow the wolf goes down, falling in a beaten and defeated heap! Only one unseen imp remains! OOC: Morrie.
[22:01] * Morrie will take a breath and call out to the spirits of the mountain cave again!
[22:01] <Morrie> roll 2d6+2 to hit zomg
[22:01] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+2 to hit zomg and gets 9." [2d6=3, 4]
[22:01] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit.
[22:01] <Morrie> OOC: 17
[22:01] <Morrie> roll 2d6+3 Finesse
[22:01] * Hatbot --> "Morrie rolls 2d6+3 Finesse and gets 9." [2d6=5, 1]
[22:02] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | Imp 1 28'
[22:02] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+2
[22:02] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+2 and gets 11." [2d6=6, 3]
[22:02] <@Kotono> The sound of rock and snares is heard again, along with an angered grunt from beyond! OOC: Go Janus. No love on stop
[22:04] * @Janus hears the grunt and moves ahead, staff emitting a flash of light and a pulse of sound toward the remaining target - a confused imp!
[22:04] > roll 2d6+1 +8 damage
[22:04] * Hatbot --> "Janus rolls 2d6+1 +8 damage and gets 11." [2d6=5, 5]
[22:04] <@Kotono> roll 4#1d100
[22:04] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 4#1d100 and gets 253." [4#1d100 = 77, 57, 52, 67]
[22:04] * Kotono changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (14/14 MP) | '
[22:04] * Janus changes topic to 'Santos 10/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (6/14 MP) | '
[22:05] <@Kotono> With a final blow the imp curls up and crumples, defeated! The path ahead continues on! OOC: Loot post of gil. Free act.

[22:05] <AutumnCrow> OOC: MP stroll, Janus.
[22:05] > OOC: Yep. Dune, want me to handle post-fight healing as well?
[22:05] <@Kotono> OOC: Sure.
[22:05] * Janus changes topic to 'Santos 18/18 Crow: 37/37 Morrie: 28/28 Janus: 22/22 (9/14 MP) | '
[22:05] <@Kotono> "Well done," Ebenezer comes forward, "I'm going to have consider you all if I have more bodyguarding needs. You're more than living up to your reptuation!"
[22:06] * @Janus nods. "Damn. That's pretty neat shit, Morrie." With that, he wanders over to Santos to heal the gash.
[22:06] > "...we had a reputation? Ballin'."
[22:07] <Morrie> "It all comes from the land itself, I just manipulate it."
[22:08] <AutumnCrow> "Well, getting the land to actually LISTEN when you ask for something is fairly impressive," Crow notes, sweeping up the paltry gil dropped by the imps.
[22:09] <@Kotono> "Indeed, indeed. Why, if you know how to call on Quake and Quakara..." Ebenezer begins as he advances on. OOC: Continuing on, y'all.
[22:09] <@Kotono> ??
[22:10] <AutumnCrow> OOC: Yup.
[22:10] > OOC: If there wasn't anything immediately obviously interesting about where the imps and wolf were hanging out, yeah, movin' on

[22:12] <@Kotono> Thus you advance on. The passage continues - turning and going up. You follow it around another bend, you come to a bit an an open space. Here crumbling pillars support the ceiling, the floor dusty and worn stonework. There's perhaps ten pillars in all, 5 pairs spaced about twenty feet from each other. Past the last set the cave continues on.
[22:13] <@Santos> "That could be a dangerous trap if an imp decides to collapse any of those pillars," Santos muses as he looks over the design, wondering how easily it could be to tumble everything.
[22:13] > "Interesting layout. This the place you were talking about, Ebenezer?" Janus rolls his shoulders as he looks around, before glancing to Santos. "Christ, I've already had one nightmare about that happening."
[22:13] <@Kotono> Offhand the pillars look reasonably sturdy. They're crumbling but not obviously collapsing or anything.
[22:14] <@Kotono> "No, I don't think so," he says, going to study the nearest, "I'm looking for a ruin more like the previous hidden one. More metallic," he explains, "This is likely older or younger than what we're looking for, or some sort of oddity. It doesn't match the design of the Mysta Empire."
[22:15] <AutumnCrow> "Well...take a look around, see if there's anything interesting, and move on?"
[22:15] <@Kotono> "Hn." A grunt. It comes from the last set of pillars. Coming out from behind is two Imps and a Spider. But just behind them is another. He's like an Imp but slightly bigger, with a gray cast to him instead. That's the one that speaks, "Hn. Noisy. Big stupid noisy."
[22:15] <Morrie> "We should probably just continue on unless there's... a hidden switch or something." *He shrugs, as if he knows anything about these ruins.*
[22:17] > "Big stupid noisy that'd rather just pass through and get outta your hair?" Janus notes with a faint twinge of hope in his voice.
[22:17] * Morrie frowns again.
[22:17] * AutumnCrow looks over at the new arrivals, "Ah...you must be one of the dreaded Grey Imps. We're passing through looking for a ruin. If you have no quarrel with us, we will have none with you. I would highly suggest you have no quarrel with us."
[22:17] <@Kotono> "Big stupid noisy evil nasty mind wants killed dead murdered," it says, flatly. "Why evil nasty mind want you killed dead murdered?"
[22:18] <AutumnCrow> "....evil nasty mind?" Crow repeats, looking to the others with a bit of confusion.
[22:19] <@Kotono> "Pardon?" Ebenezer stares, "My goodness, I didn't think Imps were advanced enough to manage speech!"
[22:19] <Morrie> "...We're here to stop it. If you let us pass, big stupid noisy evil nasty mind will be little quiet mind and won't bother you anymore."
[22:19] * Morrie inwardly isn't even sure if that will work, but figures it's worth a shot...
[22:19] * @Janus opens his mouth, but looks to Morrie and pauses in confusion.
[22:20] <@Kotono> "Evil nasty mind." Nodding to Morrie, he steps aside. After a moment the others do a moment later. "Evil nasty mind strong stronger strongest. Evil nasty mind fail because lucky stone sticks."
[22:20] <AutumnCrow> "Lucky stone sticks?" Crow feels like a broken record.
[22:21] <@Kotono> This is followed by a fist bump against the nearest pillar.
[22:21] <AutumnCrow> "Ah. Of course."
[22:22] > "Alright. We'll go try to deal with the evil nasty mind. Your four hold tight... unless you want to lead us to it?"
[22:22] <Morrie> "...Thank you." *He looks at the others and then starts for the cave.
[22:23] <@Kotono> "Evil nasty mind can't because lucky stone sticks taught to think like big stupid noisy." This gets Janus a look as...OOC What the hell, make a negotiation check real quick.
[22:23] > roll 2d6+2
[22:23] * Hatbot --> "Janus rolls 2d6+2 and gets 8." [2d6=1, 5]
[22:24] <@Kotono> The gray imp shakes his head instead. But after a moment he pauses, taking the sword from one of the other imps. A loud, angry sounding cry results, but the gray imp promptly smacks him upside the head. "Take imp sword magic. Imp sword magic make imp imp imp."
[22:25] <AutumnCrow> "You can use a blade, can't you Santos?"
[22:26] > "... Thank you. Hopefully will help stop evil mind nasty." Janus sputters out, accepting the sword and then proffering it to Santos. "Santos best magic sword use- gah, talkin' like that's addicting."
[22:26] <@Kotono> roll 2d6+4
[22:26] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d6+4 and gets 14." [2d6=4, 6]
[22:26] <@Kotono> OOC: Sword posted.
[22:27] <@Santos> "Uuuh, he said something about imp magic?" Santos asks with some concern, as he looks between the sword and the imp.
[22:28] <AutumnCrow> "I think if you hit someone with it, they get Imp'd?" Crow suggests.
[22:28] <@Kotono> "Imp imp imp," The imp replies, waving a hand, "Imp magic IMP. Make imp imp imp when hit others."
[22:29] <Morrie> "I think I understand. Let's go before evil nasty mind realizes we're coming."
[22:30] <@Kotono> "May deathless eternal wizard watch." The gray imp says, stepping back.
[22:30] <@Kotono> OOC: Moving on then, y'all?
[22:31] <AutumnCrow> OOC: Sure.
[22:31] > "Indeed." Janus nods, handing the sword to Santos and holding the staff up and toward the path onward- before pausing. "Deathless eternal wizard? I- okay, we'll ask about that later."
[22:32] <@Kotono> As you continue down and away, and once out of earshot, "Those pillars are not mere pillars," Ebenezer speaks up, "They are built to channel magic, I'm certain of it. I quietly examined them while you were busy with the imp. Another mystery awaiting discovery!"
[22:32] <@Santos> Once they're out of sight, and presumably hearing range, Santos comments quietly with a shake of his head, "You know, I somehow don't think I'm planning on actually using this sword when we meet this evil nasty mind."
[22:32] <Morrie> "I think it's their deity."
[22:32] > "Well, yes. But could it have anything to do with that blighted land door?"
[22:33] > And then, to Ebenezer, "Interesting. Hopefully they don't mind us investigating when we return."
[22:34] <Morrie> "I think you may want to try it on them anyway... if only because I'm curious as to what may happen."
[22:34] <AutumnCrow> "Still good to hang on to and use on something that we really could benefit from it turning into an Imp."
[22:36] <@Santos> "That, or if we find some really weird lunatic with freaky interests..."
[22:36] <@Santos> "Hopefully one with lots of gil."
[22:37] > "Sure, but... well, let's hope we don't need to see it used and not hesitate to cut someone with it if we do." Janus says, continuing on.

[22:37] <@Kotono> Thus the party walks along. You wander a time downt his passage - nothing terribly interesting, just more cave. Soon you come to a chasm. It's a goodly way across, perhaps 60 feet or so. A single rickety, swinging rope and board bridge allows you to cross.
[22:38] <AutumnCrow> "Well that's not omninous looking at all." Crow looks over the bridge, then back at the others, "Whoever has the best balance should go first to test it, which I suppose is probably me."
[22:38] <Morrie> "I can try to reinforce it... maybe."
[22:38] <AutumnCrow> "That would be great."
[22:39] * Morrie walks forward to the edge of the bridge and kneels down, looking at the dirt and ground intently.
[22:39] * @Janus peers down the chasm, against his better judgment, making sure to stay far away from the edge.
[22:40] <@Kotono> The chasm is quite deep! You don't see a bottom, only darkness. OOC: What exactly are you trying, Morrie?
[22:41] * Morrie will put his hand on the ground in an effort to call the cave to create another bridge underneath the first one, in case something does give that they may be able to cross regardless. There may not be enough earth in order to do that, though.
[22:45] <@Kotono> Earth comes out from below, arching up from the cliff just below the bridge. It extends out fairly far, getting about a third of the bridge. It fully stabilizes that part and the unsupported parts aren't rocking as much now.
[22:45] * AutumnCrow nods her thanks to Morrie, then goes first and tries the bridge!
[22:45] <Morrie> "That's the best I can do."
[22:46] * Morrie will push himself back to his feet.
[22:46] > "Better than what we could do, man." Janus grins.
[22:47] <@Kotono> It's easy enough to cross the bridge. It's a bit rickety, but nothing too terribly dangerous. Crow reaches the other side without incident.
[22:49] * AutumnCrow waves the others accross.
[22:50] * Morrie will go across!
[22:50] * @Janus nods to Morrie, before glancing to Santos. "Ebenezer, cross after me. Santos, cover us and cross last?"
[22:52] <@Kotono> Ebenezer follows Morrie! Once the party is across, "Well then, deeper on?" he asks.
[22:53] > "Indeed." Janus nods slightly. "And let's hope our 'friends' back there don't get any bright ideas."
[22:54] * AutumnCrow nods, "Onward and inward."

[22:55] <@Kotono> Thus you proceed on! It's not far until you find something. An old, carved stone stair, winding down into the bowels of the cave. It's narrow roofed, and the party looks like they'll need to bend down to be able to go down it.
[22:56] > "Huh. This looks promising. Much further, you think, Ebenezer?"
[22:56] <Morrie> "Do you think the imps built this?"
[22:57] <@Kotono> "I doubt it. I think we're getting closer," Ebenezer says, "Careful now, in case it's a trap or something' awry."
[22:58] * @Janus nods. "Standard order, let's go, then. No use burning time here." With that, he proffers the light for the group to head down the staircase!
[22:59] * Morrie will do what he needs to do in order to fit!
[22:59] <@Kotono> OOC: Santos, make an awareness check.
[23:00] <@Santos> roll 2d6+3
[23:00] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+3 and gets 8." [2d6=3, 2]
[23:02] <@Kotono> As you step along, you're a goodly ways in. Suddenly the step beneath Santos' foot sinks down, a raspy metallic CLICK following.
[23:03] <AutumnCrow> "Click? Click is not good."
[23:03] > "Click not good evil bad."
[23:03] <@Kotono> "Click is bad! Click is a trap!" Ebenezer adds. "Trap1"
[23:03] <@Santos> "It generally isn't, no," Santos mutters as he holds still, looking down.
[23:04] <@Kotono> OOC: Awareness check again, Santos.
[23:04] <@Santos> roll 2d6+3
[23:04] * Hatbot --> "Santos rolls 2d6+3 and gets 11." [2d6=5, 3]
[23:06] <@Kotono> Nothing at all seems to be coming.
[23:07] <AutumnCrow> "Well. That's...ah," Crow shrugs, "not much happening, I suppose. Continue on?"
[23:08] > "..." Janus's body slowly unclenches itself, before his hair lightly brushes the ceiling. "Verdict, Santos?"
[23:08] <Morrie> "Perhaps that trap was sprung previously... but we should be more careful."
[23:08] <@Santos> "Well, sometimes traps are triggered when you move away from them. I recommend everyone pull back, I'll try to run back as well, if I get hit by something, hopefully we don't have any healers bleeding to death that can get me back to snuff," Santos comments as a thought.
[23:09] <@Santos> "If nothing happens -then-, then I'd say we're okay with regards to this particular trap."
[23:09] <AutumnCrow> "Very well." Crow backs up!
[23:09] > "Right. Ebenezer, back up." Janus nods, pushing back. "Don't die."
[23:10] * @Santos waits for everyone to move back before trying to dash away.
[23:10] <@Kotono> Thus the rest of the party goes back up! Santos then flees - but nothing happens beyond fleeing back safely. Well, a few head bumps as you flee, bu tnothing serious.
[23:12] > "Right. Let's keep moving, but avoid the trap if you can, people."
[23:13] * @Janus presses onward, himself!
[23:13] * AutumnCrow resumes the advance, skipping over the trap Santos pointed out.

[23:14] <@Kotono> Thus the party advances on. At the bottom of the stairs you come out into an open cavern. Ahead the walls become smooth metal like the previous ruin. The back is a dead end, save for one dark metal door. It's double your height and four times as wide, closed tightly shut.
[23:15] <AutumnCrow> "Well, we could always knock?" Crow quips, eyeing the door.
[23:15] > "Well. Our 'dark evil brain mind dumb' thing might be behind this." Janus muses. "Is everyone ready?"
[23:16] * AutumnCrow snaps out her fan and fans herself lazily, "You have to ask?"
[23:16] <@Kotono> "I am," Ebenezer says, staying in the back.
[23:16] <@Santos> "Ready. And I have the imp sword handy, god forbid we actually need it."
[23:16] > "Imp imp imp."
[23:17] <AutumnCrow> "I think Janus is volunteering to test your new sword's effects after we get out of here."
[23:18] > "Worst comes to worst, you can nick the head of the Healer's guild with it while I get my damn shield back." Janus mutters.
[23:18] <Morrie> "I have a feeling it already knows we're here -- the imps up above came out to stop us, remember?"
[23:19] > "We weren't really being quiet, there. Still, they did mention something about the something something evil something knowing us, yeah..."
[23:19] <AutumnCrow> "Indeed. Well, let's go." She walks up to the door and tries to open it.
[23:21] <@Kotono> The door opens on touch! As it opens wide - ack! Skeletons! You see skeletons ahead, armed with old, rusty weapons! The door only opens a little, yet the skeletons begin to flow out! OOC: React and we'll pause here before a combat begins, and open with it next session.
[23:21] <@Kotono> "The undead!" Ebenezer cries, "Janus, your white magic is effective against them!"
[23:22] > "Well, shit." Janus mutters before raising his staff. "We won't be able to keep these guys permanently dead, but we can at least give them a temporary respite." A remorseful look to Ebenezer, "If I had any talent in the magics that stilled undead... let's hope they're vulnerable to a good solid Aero, at least?"
[23:23] <Morrie> "Hm... Well, let's get this over with." *He readies himself! Since... there's not much else to ready.
[23:24] * AutumnCrow takes a step back and gets ready to fight, "Well, I don't think that imp sword will help here, anyway."
[23:24] <@Santos> "If it did, I'd be shocked and awed," Santos remarks, getting ready for the fight himself.
