[18:29] <Feather> Dismayed at the Emperor's tenaciousness, Feather smacks him with the hilt of his sword!
[18:29] <Feather>  roll 1d20+12+4 zap, touch
[18:29] <Feather> roll 1d20+12+4 zap, touch
[18:29] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12+4 zap, touch and gets 25." [1d20=9]
[18:29] <Feather> roll 5d6 elec
[18:29] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 5d6 elec and gets 20." [5d6=6, 3, 1, 4, 6]
[18:31] <Feather> roll 1d20+11 spellcraft
[18:31] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+11 spellcraft and gets 18." [1d20=7]
[18:32] <@Kotono> Feather reaches out and touches the Emperor! His body sizzles with electricity from the touch, arcing all over with lightning! He stumbles but doesn't go down! OOC: Gildas. Note that the doorway's occupied by Feather and there's not a lot of space, so typical melee isn't an option right now.
[18:33] <Gildas> OOC: Can I get by Feather and to John to heal him?
[18:35] <@Kotono> OOC: You could fly over but it would require acrobatics. It's pretty tight and you might get AoOed.
[18:36] <Gildas> OOC: Okay then.
[18:37] <Gildas> Gildas, seeing the shape John is in, shapeshifts into his aerial form to try and fly through and get closer to him! OOC: I'll just do the shapeshifting and moving first, in that case.
[18:37] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay.
[18:37] <@Kotono> OOC: Roll acrobatics.
[18:37] <Gildas> roll 1d20+12
[18:37] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+12 and gets 30." [1d20=18]
[18:38] <@Kotono> Gildas slips by and through, going right over the Emperor's shoulder and past John! OOC: Go ahead and finish, nicely done.
[18:38] <Gildas> OOC: I can't actually heal this turn since I'd have to shift back, correct?
[18:38] <@Kotono> OOC: Correct. Okayt hen.
[18:39] <Gildas> OOC: Can I activate the bow and use it as my standard?
[18:39] <@Kotono> OOC: Sure.
[18:39] <Gildas> OOC: Okay!
[18:39] <Gildas> Once in position, the bird uses some sort of monk magic to fire off a shot from his bow at the Emperor!
[18:39] <Gildas> roll 1d20+10 bird bow
[18:39] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+10 bird bow and gets 28." [1d20=18]
[18:39] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit.
[18:40] <Gildas> roll 1d6+8 it really should shoot birds
[18:40] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d6+8 it really should shoot birds and gets 14." [1d6=6]
[18:42] <@Kotono> An avian arrow is fired expertly, impaling the Emperor in the stomach! He stumbles back from that, bleeding badly as he reels! As this happens, Myann points and a red and white mushroom appears out of thin air above John! It falls on him, his body enlarging so that his head scrapes the ceiling and pushes against it, his entire form just barely held in the hall! OOC: Super mushroomed. Luse.
[18:42] <@Kotono> Luse utters something in words unknown, shaking his head as he stays in place. OOC: Just not good battle conditions for him. Emperor's up.
[18:45] <@Kotono> "Hah...bastards..." The Emperor gasps, one hand to the wall to steady himself. Under his breath, carrying just far enough to be heard, "Sorry Ira..." Then his voice becomes a roar, "The Cycle cannot be escaped. It is your fate to return to it today!"  The Emperor's mask splits apart, a gigantic gout of flame coming out at Feather, Myann, Luse and the Guide! OOC: Ref, y'all.
[18:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+6 Myann still really wants evasion
[18:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+6 Myann still really wants evasion and gets 25." [1d20=19]
[18:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+8 Luse
[18:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+8 Luse and gets 17." [1d20=9]
[18:45] <@Kotono> OOC: Evasion for him.
[18:45] <Gildas> roll 1d20+10 evasion
[18:45] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+10 evasion and gets 14." [1d20=4]
[18:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+3 Guide
[18:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+3 Guide and gets 7." [1d20=4]
[18:46] <Feather> roll 1d20+7 evasion, fire res 10
[18:46] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+7 evasion, fire res 10 and gets 12." [1d20=5]
[18:46] <@Kotono> OOC: You're off the hook, Gildas. You're behind John and out of the way along with him.
[18:46] <Gildas> OOC: Oh, well thank goodness because that was a shit roll anyway.
[18:46] <@Kotono> roll 6d8 Myann half, Luse none, Feather full fire damage
[18:46] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 6d8 Myann half, Luse none, Feather full fire damage and gets 29." [6d8=7, 1, 8, 2, 3, 8]
[18:46] <@Kotono> OOC: Guide full too.
[18:48] <@Kotono> The flames gush out! They don't burn the room, only those in it! Feather and the Guide are caught dead on, Feather roasted but shielded. The Guide smoulders from it and drops to roll around! Myann's  only grazed, diving to the side and avoiding the worst of it. Luse is simply gone, well behind a sofa and safe. OOC: Guide is up.
[18:48] <@Kotono> "Ow! Roll and dragons!" he utters, strength flowing into him!
[18:48] <@Kotono> roll 1d10+10
[18:48] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d10+10 and gets 20." [1d10=10]
[18:48] <@Kotono> OOC: Feather.
[18:48] <@John> OOC: not me?
[18:48] <@Kotono> OOC: I'm sorry, I suck! Go.
[18:49] <@John> And just like he'd said, it's his friends that prove John's strength as they come to his aid when things look to be their worst! Looming over the Emperor, he shifts about to bracket the armoured figure between himself and feather before he batters down with his trunk-like staff! "And this one's for Splashuzu! And that's for burning everyone just now!"
[18:49] <@John> roll 1d20+11
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+11 and gets 18." [1d20=7]
[18:49] <@John> roll 1d20+11
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+11 and gets 25." [1d20=14]
[18:49] <@John> roll 1d20+11
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+11 and gets 27." [1d20=16]
[18:49] <@John> roll 1d20+16
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+16 and gets 19." [1d20=3]
[18:49] <@John> roll 1d20+16
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+16 and gets 21." [1d20=5]
[18:49] <@Kotono> OOC: Three hits.
[18:49] <@John> roll 3#1d8+6+3d6
[18:49] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 3#1d8+6+3d6 and gets 55." [3#1d8+6+3d6 = 16, 21, 18]
[18:51] <@Kotono> The first catches the Emperor in the head, sending him reeling! As he falls back, John thrusts his staff like a sword. It plunges through the armor by pure dint of strength, ripping apart the Emperor's chest! His upper body explodes out into gore, his head falling to the ground with a metallic rattle. Blood and less savory things yet splash directly onto Feather, the Emperor's last gift to him.
[18:51] <@Kotono> OOC: Free act. Ow.
[18:51] <Gildas> OOC: There enough room for me to shapeshift?
[18:51] <Gildas> OOC: Back, I mean.
[18:51] <@Kotono> OOC: Yeah, you can just step back if needed.
[18:52] <Gildas> Gildas shapeshifts back and places a hand on John's shoulder to heal him!
[18:52] <Gildas> roll 2d8+6 CMW
[18:52] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 2d8+6 CMW and gets 14." [2d8=4, 4]
[18:52] <@John> "Ohh, thank Pelor you all showed up when you did," John drops his angry face and smiles in relief at his friends. "I was near enough done!"
[18:52] * Feather brushes them off with a grimace, stepping inside the room. "You okay there, John?" he asks, taking in the room. "Sorry we took ages to get here, there was this huge monster in the ground and all."
[18:52] <@Kotono> Myann quietly does the same, healing herself.
[18:52] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[18:52] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 80." [1d100=80]
[18:52] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[18:52] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 94." [1d100=94]
[18:52] <@Kotono> roll 2d8+10
[18:52] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 2d8+10 and gets 13." [2d8=2, 1]
[18:53] * Feather looks around for magic, since Gildas said it would lead them to the trapped fey.
[18:54] <@John> "Everyone was so distracted by the flood it was easy for me to get in," John explains further, adding a brief, "Thanks Gildas," at the healing, "When I found him I should've waited on you all, but I just thought of Big Eric and Humble John being killed by those wyverns and I saw red."
[18:54] <@Kotono> "It's done," Myann has her sword drawn, "Let's deal with the Sidhe and make our escape while we have a chance." Meanwhile Feather can detect plenty of magic from behind the left door on the far wall. OOC: Spellcraft.
[18:54] <Feather> roll 1d20+11
[18:54] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+11 and gets 19." [1d20=8]
[18:54] <@John> *Humble Robert
[18:55] <Gildas> He nods to John. "Perhaps it may have an answer as to what in the world he was even doing..."
[18:55] <@Kotono> The Emperor's armor is magical as well. OOC: Sorry, just brainfarted that.
[18:55] <@Kotono> Feather can't decode any of the spells here. They're quite complex and interlayered.
[18:56] <Feather> "Mind parting that fool from his armor?" Feather asks the guide, thinking it a more fitting parting gift from him. The rest of them, however, will likely end up fighting again and he heads for the door through which he senses all that magic.
[18:56] <@Kotono> The Guide busies himself with that while John goes to the door. It's closed, as good doors tend to be.
[18:57] <Feather> *Feather
[18:57] * Feather uses his jagged sword as an overly large key once more!
[18:57] <Feather> roll 1d20+12 dd
[18:57] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12 dd and gets 20." [1d20=8]
[18:58] <@Kotono> No good. The door is not only locked, but it's locked good. It doesn't give to that.
[18:58] * Feather tries kicking it in, then!
[18:59] <@Kotono> OOC: Str.
[18:59] <Feather> roll 1d20+4 str
[18:59] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+4 str and gets 12." [1d20=8]
[19:00] <@Kotono> Damn, not even a bit of give. It's locked but good.
[19:00] <Feather> "For fuck's sake," Feather complains, giving the lock another try.
[19:00] <Feather> roll 1d20+12 dd
[19:00] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12 dd and gets 15." [1d20=3]
[19:00] <@Kotono> No good. It must be one hell of a lock.
[19:00] <@Kotono> "Hold on," Myann says, "Let me mushroom you and you can try bashing it down again?"
[19:01] <@John> "Maybe he has a key on him?" John suggests, bending down to fumble around the corpse with his giant hands.
[19:01] <@Kotono> Beyond the armor, which is damaged and the Guide is catalouging quickly, you don't find much of anything. Bloodstained robes beneath them and little else.
[19:01] * Feather tests how good the door's hinges are when struck with a mighty magical sword!
[19:01] <Feather> roll 1d20+12
[19:01] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12 and gets 23." [1d20=11]
[19:01] <Feather> roll 1d20+7
[19:01] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+7 and gets 20." [1d20=13]
[19:01] <@Kotono> OOC: Hits. Damage.
[19:02] <Feather> roll 2#1d10+7+1d6+1d6 cold, elec
[19:02] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 2#1d10+7+1d6+1d6 cold, elec and gets 34." [2#1d10+7+1d6+1d6 = 18, 16]
[19:02] <@John> "Huh, he doesn't. Is it magic? Like one of those password locks or something?" John wonders as he straightens out, rubbing bloodstains off on his trousers.
[19:02] <@Kotono> The cold of the blade seems to weaken the hinges, Feather's sword slicing through them. The door drops down, now off the hinges entirely.
[19:02] <Feather> "Might just be really fucking sturdy," Feather grunts, sighing in relief as he gets it open at last. Then, he steps through!
[19:03] <@Kotono> The door...refuses to open. In spite of it, there's some force keeping it closed. It just doesn't open, even when physics and reality insist otherwise.
[19:04] * Feather tilts his head. "Guess it really is magic, then. Uh, Gildas, wanna fly out and try the window or something?"
[19:04] <@Kotono> There's one other door on this wall. IT's closed too.
[19:05] <Gildas> He blinks and nods to Feather. "I will try." He looks to the other door and waits for them to try it first, just in case.
[19:06] <@John> Taking a hint, John goes over to open the other door!
[19:07] * Feather heads back and then punts the Emperor's head at the magical door!
[19:07] <@Kotono> The other door is also locked. The Emperor's head is punted against the door. It breaks, bone, blood and brain now staning the closed door.
[19:08] <@Kotono> Myann grimaces, "For heaven's sake, Feather!" she sounds ill, "Heads aren't children's balls to kick around! Don't start acting Sidhe like that!"
[19:08] <Gildas> Seeing no progress, he shapeshifts and will head out the nearest window to see if he can get back in that way.
[19:09] * @John gives the new locked door a good shove!
[19:09] <@John> roll 1d20+5 str
[19:09] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+5 str and gets 7." [1d20=2]
[19:09] <Feather> "It made sense at the time!" Feather complains defensively, swiftly shifting to the door John is trying to open and giving it a try himself.
[19:09] <Feather> roll 1d20+12 dd
[19:09] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12 dd and gets 28." [1d20=16]
[19:15] <@Kotono> This time, Feather is able to pop open the lock. Ahead is a bedroom. Looks nice but unremarkable on a glance, and it doesn't have that magic or a fairy inside.
[19:16] <Feather> "Uh, wanna look for a key here?" Feather asks John. Since he isn't seeing anything magical here, he just decides to go and cut the magical door in half to be able to see past it, at least.
[19:16] <Feather> roll 1d20+12
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12 and gets 21." [1d20=9]
[19:16] <Feather> roll 1d20+7
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+7 and gets 26." [1d20=19]
[19:16] <Feather> roll 2#1d10+7+1d6+1d6 cold, elec
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 2#1d10+7+1d6+1d6 cold, elec and gets 32." [2#1d10+7+1d6+1d6 = 18, 14]
[19:16] <@John> "Alright, shout me if anything happens," John says, going to have a root around for keys or other goods.
[19:16] <@John> roll 1d20+12 perception
[19:16] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+12 perception and gets 16." [1d20=4]
[19:17] * Gildas busies himself with trying to find a window to fly out of.
[19:17] <@Kotono> The door of the door - the actual door - isn't dented in the least by the sword-blows. It doesn't even show a mark after Feather hacks at it. Meanwhile John quickly tosses the bedroom. There's lots of unremarkable things, but none of the dresser drawers will open.
[19:17] <@Kotono> The opened bedroom has a window in it, notably.
[19:18] <Gildas> Then he will try and use the window!
[19:18] * Feather scratches at his hair, before sidling over to Myann. He glances around for Luse, hoping to gesture at the dastardly door in case he would have a better idea, before asking her in Sylvan, "So what's your idea? We might end up going for it."
[19:18] <@John> Since they're already wrecking the place, John just bashes the shit out of the dresser with his staff!
[19:20] <@Kotono> Gildas goes out the window and finds himself wher ehe peeked in before. Going in and out through the window into the Fair Folk's room looks to be easy if he wishes to do it. John bashes the dresser, but it refuses to budge! Myann replies in a quiet voice, "About the door? Drop a super mushroom on you and let you bash it down? The Sidhe?" she whispers, "Talk to it and see from there."
[19:20] <@Kotono> Luse nods, going to the door and giving it a work with a lockpick he produces.
[19:20] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+11
[19:20] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+11 and gets 16." [1d20=5]
[19:20] <@Kotono> But the door doesn't give way.
[19:20] <Gildas> He will try and get in the window!
[19:21] <@Kotono> Gildas does so. It's like how it was before, save for no Emperor. The Sidhe is still where she was before, a dozen iron pins impaling her. She stirs slightly as you enter but does nothing else.
[19:21] <Feather> "If Gildas can't make something happen, we'll just try that," Feather muses. "How many spells do you got in you? We might end up fighting our way out, so better for all of us to be in best shape."
[19:22] <Gildas> "Do you know how to open this door?" He will ask the Sidhe in Sylvan. "We're here to help you." It wasn't exactly a lie...
[19:22] * @John comes back out. "Nothing except a dresser that's as strong as that door," he reports. "Makes you wonder why he'd need to make everyhing so strong. I guess I was always breaking stuff when I was a lad, and he's richer than me mam, but wouldn't it still be cheaper just to fix things back up?"
[19:23] <@Kotono> "I was going to suggest sneaking up those emergency stairs, seeing i fthey lead to the surface," Myann says, "I'd still rather make a clean escape if we can."
[19:23] <Feather> "Weird guy," Feather agrees, nodding at Myann in agreement before heading in to try and opening the dresser.
[19:23] <Feather> roll 1d20+12 dd
[19:23] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+12 dd and gets 30." [1d20=18]
[19:24] <@Kotono> The creature stirs. It looks onto Gildas with painstricken eyes, "Mushrooms?" she says in a dazed, faraway voice, "Lad of the mushrooms...? Unbind me! ...free me...the door...magic. Open it."
[19:24] <@Kotono> Feather fiddles with the dresser, able to open the top drawer. Within is a collection of cut and uncut gemstones, as well as precious metals in all sorts of forms - gold, silver, mithral and more.
[19:25] <Feather> Shinies? Shinies. He fills up a backpack with them while giving Gildas time to work.
[19:27] <Gildas> "We're having trouble with the door. Do you know how it opens?" He will ask again, looking at all of the iron pins, unsure of whether to just pull them out or not.
[19:27] <@Kotono> "Just...open it!" The Sidhe gasps, "Stop being an...unentertaining lout and open it!"
[19:27] <Gildas> He blinks, then walks over to see if, perhaps, it just opens from the other side.
[19:28] <@Kotono> The door opens without resistance from this side.
[19:29] <Gildas> He looks a bit surprised at that, but will back up so the others can come in!
[19:29] <@John> "Figured it out?" John smiles and ambles on in to see what all the fuss was about.
[19:30] <Gildas> "Not so much as it just wasn't locked from this side..." He admits.
[19:30] <@Kotono> Myann calls as the others are plundering the bedroom, "It's open," she says, coming on in. She steps in front of the pinned Sidhe, expression utterly neutral as she looks down at it.
[19:30] <Gildas> "Do we just remove the pins?" He looks at Myann. "I'm guessing they're holding her power in check?"
[19:30] <@Kotono> Luse and the Guide follow, the latter patting his bulging backpack, "I can haul this for now," he grunts, "But once we have some time, you'll have to carry this."
[19:31] <Feather> Once done with appropriating the Emperor's no doubt ill-gotten gains, Feather regroups with the others. He nods at the guide, saying, "Sure thing," before taking hold of one of the iron pins and pulling it out.
[19:31] <@John> "Here," John offers his sack to store the guide's ill-gotten gains, "We might have to run and I can carry it easy enough."
[19:32] <@Kotono> In Sylvan the creature speaks, "Not lad...Lady of the Mushrooms!" It laughs, a coughing, hacking sound underlaid by wheezing. "Free me...so much fun to be had in revenge! The human seeks the maxims! They must be punished for their insolence!"
[19:33] <Gildas> "Ah... we already..." He starts. "He's been taken care of." He finishes.
[19:33] <Feather> "You'll stay away from us and ours?" Feather asks in Sylvan, pulling out another pin. "Well, her and hers, in your terms."
[19:34] * Feather nods at Myann.
[19:34] <@Kotono> "He's dead," Myann says flatly. "You won't be taking revenge on these kobolds. Give me your word that you foreswear any vengeance on them. The perpetrator is dead. You'll also foreswear any revenge against us for making you swear this vow."
[19:34] <Gildas> OOC: Any relevant check i can make on what a Maxim is?
[19:34] <@Kotono> OOC: K:N.
[19:35] <Gildas> roll 1d20+13
[19:35] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+13 and gets 16." [1d20=3]
[19:35] <@Kotono> Gildas can't recall anything useful here.
[19:35] <Feather> roll 1d20+10 I'm curious too
[19:35] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+10 I'm curious too and gets 25." [1d20=15]
[19:35] <@Kotono> Luse hangs back at this, eyes narrowing as he focuses on Myann.
[19:36] <@Kotono> Feather can recall an odd bit of an old lesson. The Fair Folk have maxims, things said to describe the natural world. It's said they have power if uttered properly, like magic words.
[19:37] <Feather> "Any of his remaining wyverns are fair game," Feather feels like pointing out, working on a third iron pin. "No one would miss those."
[19:38] <Gildas> "Is that why he kidnapped you? To learn about these... maxims?" He blinks, then looks at the others. "We still don't even know what his motives were, do we? I guess it doesn't matter now... but I'm left with many unanswered questions."
[19:38] <@Kotono> "So be it, Lady of Mushrooms," The creature coughs and shakes in its captivity, "I have little choice, even if you wish to bore me. I foreswear revenge on the kobolds invovled in this and on you and your friends for making me swear this vow." This makes the creature smile slightly, "Wyverns? Such fun to be had!"
[19:38] <@Kotono> Myann reaches up to unpin the creature, but pauses at that.
[19:40] <@Kotono> "The human sought the maxims," he replies, "You haven't told your servants, Lady of the Mushrooms?" She looks at Myann, an unspoken question. Myann scowls but nods, the creature going on after that. "The truths of the world. If invoked correctly they have the power of the Sidhe. He sought ones to manipulate the Cycle and time. Pah!" Spitting out, "A human with eternal life is a travesty! Using
[19:40] <@Kotono> the Cycle to defy it is madness."
[19:41] <Feather> "Yeah, what an idiot," Feather agrees, continuing to work at freeing the fey.
[19:41] * @John can't understand a word of what's going on and just stands around dumbly after relieving their guide of his burden.
[19:42] <Feather> "The Emperor wanted to steal Fair Folk magic," Feather summarizes for John's sake. "Fair Folk really hate that."
[19:43] <Gildas> He considers for a moment. "I wonder if that dragon was involved in this then, or if this is just coincidence." He shrugs, then looks to John... then jumps a bit and looks to open this mouth... then nods to Feather, but turns to Luse and says the same thing, but in Orcish to him.
[19:43] <@Kotono> Pin after pin comes out, freeing the pixie most of the way. As Feather undoes the bindings keeping it to the metal poles, Myann collects a couple of the pins for herself. Meanwhile, "Dragons aren't the answer, only the key," she mutters. "The High Season isn't the key, either." Once freed, the creature's wounds heal immediately. It flies up and laughs, a lighthearted sound of an old woman
[19:43] <@Kotono> cackling. The dissonance of it cuts through the room like an acid burn. "Free!" It flies out the window, escaping the room.
[19:43] <@John> "Yeah, I overheard him talk about torturing the fourth maxim out of her," John nods, showing he's note completely ignorant.
[19:44] <Gildas> He blinks. "Overheard him... talking to who?"
[19:44] <@John> "The rat. Guess it was his familiar or the familiar of the guy downstairs."
[19:44] * Feather collects the other pins since Myann apparently likes them and it's not that much of a bother. "Let's talk on the way, Myann wanted to go up the stairs and leave like that."
[19:45] <@Kotono> OOC: What's your plan now? Go up the stairs and see where that goes?
[19:45] <@John> OOC: yep
[19:45] <Feather> OOC: Get healed back to full, go up the stairs.
[19:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 59." [1d100=59]
[19:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d8+5 Feather
[19:45] <Gildas> "Rat? ...I... ..." He looks at the others, then shakes his head. "I suppose there's nothing to do with that, since we can't go chasing a rat down to question it."
[19:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d8+5 Feather and gets 9." [1d8=4]
[19:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 40." [1d100=40]
[19:45] <@Kotono> roll 1d8+5 Feather
[19:45] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d8+5 Feather and gets 9." [1d8=4]
[19:46] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:46] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 80." [1d100=80]
[19:46] <@Kotono> roll 1d8+5 Guide
[19:46] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d8+5 Guide and gets 11." [1d8=6]
[19:46] <Gildas> roll 1d8+5 Selfish healing
[19:46] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d8+5 Selfish healing and gets 11." [1d8=6]
[19:47] <@Kotono> The party hurries out and to the emergency stairs. They race up - as you leave the fourth floor behind, you can hear noises from that floor, the sounds of shouts and feet pounding.
[19:47] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:47] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 98." [1d100=98]
[19:47] <@Kotono> roll 1d8+5 John
[19:47] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d8+5 John and gets 13." [1d8=8]
[19:47] <@John> "If it was his familiar it's a dumb rat now," John helpfully tells Gildas as they run. "Familiars stop being familiars when the wizard dies."
[19:48] <Feather> "And the guy downstairs?" Feather calls back. "He die too?"
[19:48] <Gildas> "I'm worried it wasn't just a familiar." He responds as they go.
[19:49] <@John> "Nope! I was being sneaky!"
[19:49] <@Kotono> The party runs up! The stairs go up a little further until it reaches the end. A platform has a ladder going up 10ft to the ceiling. Here is a closed iron hatch, with grips to open it from below.
[19:49] <Feather> "Who was it?" Feather asks, climbing up to try and open the hatch.
[19:51] <@Kotono> The hatch opens! Sunlight pours down  as you come up in a clearing in the Vastwoods. A small pond sits nearby, a grassy idyll. A chilly wind blows and the grass is brown, winter's coming grip tightening on the land. The guide fumbles with goggles as he comes out, as Luse rises up and sighs. "Damn nasty bit of work," he says in Orcish, "Thanks for the kill," he offers his hand to Gildas, "But
[19:51] <@Kotono> I'm going to take my leave now. Two trails are better than one, and I have no intention of letting the kobolds catch me."
[19:52] <@John> "Dunno," John says as he climbs up after. "Human, and big, not as big as me though. Didn't hear a name."
[19:52] <Gildas> He nods to Luse and shakes his hand. "I'm sure you know where to find us if you need anything again. Be safe, Luse." He responds in Orcish.
[19:52] <@Kotono> Myann gets out and squints, the light nearly overwhelming days of cave-dimness. She rubs her eyes and takes a breath, "Better." The clean, crisp air is a relief after days beneath the earth.
[19:52] * Feather looks for any heavy rocks they can move onto the grate to block the way.
[19:53] <@Kotono> "You too," he says, lowering his voice, "If your companion goes murderous, come on to the tribes. We're westernly, I'll put in a good word for you. Anyone brave enough to travel with something like her and upright enough for good, clean murder is good in our books."
[19:53] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[19:53] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 37." [1d100=37]
[19:53] <@Kotono> There's no really big rocks around. There's some logs that might do the same thing on a lesser scale.
[19:53] * Feather waves John over to make a small barricade from the logs.
[19:54] <Gildas> He frowns just a bit, but smiles and nods. "Don't worry, she's a good person." He says with a smile and a nod. "Good travels to you."
[19:54] <@John> "Right," John nods and helps quickly roll some logs over before they hopefully beat feet.
[19:54] <@Kotono> "She's a benevolent Fair Folk, until she gets bored," Luse's expression darkens, "I lost family to one. Don't make the same mistake. You're sitting on a delayed fireball waiting to go off." Once the shake is done he nods to the party and takes off.
[19:55] <@Kotono> OOC: What's your plan here? Barricade the hatch and then figure out where you are in relation to the farm and head home?
[19:55] <Feather> Once the grate is sufficiently blocked for the small dog people to easily move, Feather cheerfully starts heading off in a whole new direction. They can change course later, after putting a bit of distance.
[19:56] <Feather> OOC: Let's not move directly there, but pretty much
[19:56] <Gildas> OOC: I can try and fly up to get our bearings.
[19:56] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay. Everyone make survival checks, +3 to all thanks to Gildas giving a sky-eye. Sec, dog needs to go otu.
[19:56] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+12 Myann
[19:56] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+12 Myann and gets 18." [1d20=6]
[19:56] <@John> roll 1d20+15
[19:56] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+15 and gets 33." [1d20=18]
[19:56] <Gildas> roll 1d20+17
[19:56] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+17 and gets 20." [1d20=3]
[19:57] <Gildas> OOC: I also have track if that somehow matters
[19:58] <Feather> roll 1d20+13
[19:58] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+13 and gets 30." [1d20=17]
[20:00] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[20:00] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 31." [1d100=31]
[20:00] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[20:00] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 88." [1d100=88]
[20:00] <@Kotono> roll 1d100
[20:00] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d100 and gets 72." [1d100=72]
[20:00] <@Kotono> If there's one mercy, it's that overland travel is faster. You make good time as you head towards the farm. It's late in the afternoon, and with any luck you'll be home tomorrow. As you go along...
[20:00] <@Kotono> roll 1d5
[20:00] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d5 and gets 1." [1d5=1]
[20:00] <@Kotono> OOC: Perception, all.
[20:00] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+11 Myann
[20:01] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+11 Myann and gets 21." [1d20=10]
[20:01] <@John> roll 1d20+12
[20:01] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+12 and gets 20." [1d20=8]
[20:02] <Gildas> roll 1d20+12
[20:02] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+12 and gets 29." [1d20=17]
[20:02] <@Kotono> OOC: Feather?
[20:04] <@Kotono> OOC: Would someone roll for Feather?
[20:04] <Feather> roll 1d20+9
[20:05] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+9 and gets 17." [1d20=8]
[20:05] <@Kotono> As the party travels, there's a CRACK from above. As one the five-some looks up, seeing a big tree branch plummeting right down at John! OOC: Ref save, John.
[20:05] <@John> roll 1d20+9 evasion
[20:05] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+9 evasion and gets 22." [1d20=13]
[20:06] <@Kotono> But John is too fast! He jumps back, well out of the way of the log! He crashes into Myann, the two landing in a heap - but a safe heap.
[20:06] * Feather startles, but soon realizes it's the usual forest hating on them and offers John a hand up.
[20:07] <@John> "Oh!" John's face turns red with embarrassment at landing in a heap with Myann, quickly scrambling off of her and stumbling into Feather when he extends a helping hand. "Sorry..."
[20:07] <Feather> "Whoa there! Just the forest again, is all."
[20:08] <@Kotono> "Better than taking it on the head," Myann gets up and dusts herself off, "I wasn't paying attention, anyway. The gold eating mushrooms are distracting me."
[20:08] <@John> "Caught me off guard," he agrees, straightening up and quickly starting to walk again so he neither has to look Myann in the eye nor let everyone see how bad he's blushing.
[20:09] <Gildas> "Gold..." He starts, then shakes his head. "I think it best if I do not know."
[20:10] <Feather> "Where are they eating gold? Is it far?"
[20:10] <@Kotono> The Guide is unfazed, eyes hidden behind goggles, "Eh?" he asks, sounding a little perplexed.
[20:11] <@Kotono> "Down below. Well down below. I thought I was misunderstanding them, but they eat gold or precious metals eat them. I thinkb oth." Myann explained, glancing at the kobold, "Didn't you say something about that?"
[20:13] <@Kotono> "I think I mentione dthe lower depths," The Guide finally says, "Oh yes, I mentioned the stories about shinies that fight you and take your shinies. But how do mushrooms...?" he asks, sounding more perplexed.
[20:14] <Feather> "Why not mushrooms?"
[20:14] <@Kotono> "The mushrooms feed the newborn metals," she says, "I think. They also eat some of them. They grow in lava or magma flows and can be used to turn flesh into gold." Closing her eyes, "They like talking to me when I think about them."
[20:15] <Gildas> "How... interesting." He says. "Perhaps we can investigate someday."
[20:15] <Feather> "So it's a whole mushroom kingdom down there? Filled with gold and horrible things?"
[20:15] * Feather stops and stares at Gildas in horror.
[20:15] <Gildas> "You wouldn't want the gold-eating mushrooms to show up on the farm, would you?" He responds.
[20:16] <Feather> "Whyever would they? Sounds like they have plenty of gold to eat down below."
[20:16] <@Kotono> "The gold's important," Myann murmurs, "I'm not sure why, but I feel it's that way. Maybe to me, maybe to the mushrooms. I don't know." Then waving a hand, "If they show up, I'll talk to them. That's not a problem. They wouldn't dream of doing something I dislike. They're still only mushrooms."
[20:16] <@Kotono> The Guide stares at the entire party, "Have you gone mad?" he asks, sounding rather creepe dout.
[20:16] <Gildas> "Fair enough." He nods. "As to why? Well, why did an elf try and gain fey magic to become immortal? This world is filled with craziness."
[20:17] <Gildas> "Or at least, craziness to us because we can't comprehend it."
[20:17] <Feather> "Ah, no. You saw Myann use magic, right? She uses mushroom magic."
[20:18] <@Kotono> "Mmm-hmm. The mushrooms talk to me," Myann murmurs, "Like how you call on dragons."
[20:18] <Feather> "Except they're not dragons, of course, but mushrooms."
[20:19] <Gildas> "Speaking of dragons..." He says and looks at the Guide. "Perhaps when we get back, you can instruct me on that spell you were casting before. I'd like to try my hand at it."
[20:19] <@Kotono> "They talk about the trees down there where precious things grow," Myann goes on, "They like to grow on them, but they get eaten if they do and it's too cold for them anyway. They have to be right on the lava."
[20:20] <@Kotono> "Yes, when we get back," The guide shakes his head, "Yes, moving on!"
[20:20] <@John> Having recollected himself, John slows back down to rejoin the group and the conversation. "I though mushrooms liked damp and dark places. Lava doesn't seem right at all for that, does it? It's all bright and it can't be damp since it's on fire, right?"
[20:20] <Feather> "There's one thing I don't get," Feather says all of a sudden. "They had all those defenses, and then there's a hole in the ground that's not even locked or guarded that leads right to their trapped fey and their leader?"
[20:22] <@Kotono> "I wonder if it was trapped from topside like those other doors," Myann ventures, "I didn't test it, but it's what I expected." AFter John speaks, "Not all mushrooms are the same. There's mushrooms where the sky and the earth meet that can grant eternal life, for example, as part of a greater concoction." She pauses, "I wonder if the Emperor had some or was going to get some?"
[20:22] <Gildas> "I still don't understand the wyverns." He adds. "Did he just intend to take over this part of the forest with them?" He shakes his head. "The Sidhe said something about that too..."
[20:22] <@Kotono> "Yeah, that reminds me. The High Season. That's what the white dragon was talking about?" she asks, "I have that right?"
[20:23] <Gildas> He nods. "Indeed."
[20:23] <Feather> "Okay?"
[20:25] <@Kotono> "I'm just wondering at the connection, but..." She sighs and shivers, "I think I'd rather do it with a cup of warm cider at home."
[20:26] <Gildas> He nods to her. "There must be -something- linking them. Perhaps we can ask Vasili or The Circle once we've rested up from this."
[20:26] <@Kotono> OOC: Ready to continue on, y'all?
[20:26] <Feather> OOC: yes
[20:27] <@Kotono> The rest of the trip is mercifully uneventful. Late the next day you come out of the gloom. Ahead is home! The fields are empty and harvested, the farm bundled up against winter's coming. Home at last! OOC: React and we'll pause here/deal with leveling in #elysium.
[20:28] <@Kotono> Myann sighs in relief, "I'm going to take a warm bath and spend the next few days asleep in front of the fire," she declares, "No lizards, no caves, no kobolds and no wyverns."
[20:28] <Feather> "Here's to hoping we won't need to travel far during the winter," Feather voices, looking forward to spending some quality time nursing good ale by the bar.
[20:28] <@John> "Could go for a proper bed after all that," John adds, even though his feet dangle off the end on most. Still better than hard rock or even soil.
[20:32] <Gildas> "Here's hoping nothing strange happened while we were gone." He nods.

Ebiris

[18:12] <@Kotono> It's the next morning at breakfast. It's chilly this morning, the meal served inside. Heaps of eggs, generous piles of sausage, a platter of bacon, bread and jam, preserved fruits and purified water are the meal. As everyone settles into eat, "Ho there," Rashen comes up, "Survived the underground intact?"
[18:13] <Feather> "Despite its best efforts," Feather cheerfully responds.
[18:13] <@Kotono> The Missus bustles around while Robert slowly eats. He smothers a yawn into his hand, murmuring for the kids to behave. They mostly do, tearing into breakfast with gusto.  Brutes is at the table, dozing over his plate of eggs and bread.
[18:13] <@John> "Hullo Rashen. Wasn't for lack of trying," John greets him and agrees with Feather, otherwise focusing on eating.
[18:14] <@Kotono> "If I see lizards again..." Myann mutters.
[18:14] <@Kotono> The Guide sits with the children, seeming to quite enjoy his eggs after an exploratory bite.  An entire human sized plate of them, being methodically mowed down.
[18:15] <@Kotono> "Yeah, yeah. So I busted some humps," he says, reaching down to grab a slice of bread and eat it two quick bites, "Want to see the houses?"
[18:16] <Feather> "Sure thing," Feather agrees, though he is in no hurry to draw away from his eggs and bacon. "What's next on the plan?"
[18:19] <@Kotono> "Nothing. They're done," he says, matter of factly. "I'm good at my job, you know."
[18:20] * Feather laughs. "Well yeah! Never doubted that for a second. But we gotta build a wall or whichever too, don't we?"
[18:21] <@Kotono> "Yeah," Rashen agrees, "Come ove rwhen breakfast is done, I'll show you around."
[18:21] * Feather nods and works on breakfast in earnest to not keep Rashen waiting overmuch.
[18:21] <@Kotono> Myann looks up from her food, "That was fast."
[18:22] <@Kotono> OOC: Y'all good with skipping along a bit then?
[18:22] <@John> OOC: sure
[18:22] <Gildas> OOC: Sure.
[18:27] <@Kotono> It's an unseasonably chilly day. Clouds cover the sun and a sharp wind blows. Were it not for most of the party's protections, it would be downright unpleasant out here. But you're lead along to the loosely connected mini-farmsteads and houses past the main fields. There's one here in particular, with a nice white fence and big yard. A few red and yellow fall trees dot it. It's a sturdy looking
[18:27] <@Kotono> house of wood with bits of stone. "This one is yours, Feather and Myann," he says, "There's a good dirt patch in the back and plenty of space to grow - up, down or in the yard."
[18:28] <Feather> "It gives that feel of a home," Feather says appreciatively, clapping Rashen's shoulder.
[18:28] <@John> The only protection John has is his skin! And his clothes. Still, he doesn't let it get him down, admiring Feather and Myann's new home. "Looks real nice, you two."
[18:29] <Gildas> He nods as well. "Very fitting." He'd make a comment about it not having any mushrooms yet, but... well, that will come in time, he's sure.
[18:32] <@Kotono> Myann looks on and smiles, "It's home," she murmurs.
[18:35] <@Kotono> "Want to go inside," He offers, "I wanted to show you some things."
[18:36] <Feather> "'course we do!"
[18:37] <@Kotono> Rashen leads the way, opening the door in. It opens into a currently unfurnished, large living room. However, sitting on the floor just within, is a picnic basket covered with a red and white checkered cloth.
[18:37] <Feather> "That your doing?"
[18:39] <@Kotono> "Nope," Rashen goes forward, "Probably the Missus."
[18:40] <Feather> "And we just ate, too," Feather says with an amused snort, heading over to the basket to peer underneath the covering cloth.
[18:40] <@John> "She's real thoughtful like that," John agrees.
[18:40] <Gildas> "Perhaps you'd like some time alone to enjoy it?" He offers.
[18:40] <@Kotono> Myann follows, "Still, housewarming's good." Peeking under, you can see four fruits. Each one looks like crystal with shimmering golden liquid inside. They resemble nothing more than fruity diamonds with gold inside. A little slip of paper sits atop them.
[18:41] <Feather> "Yeah, probably not from the Missus," Feather mutters, picking up the paper to read it.
[18:43] <@Kotono> It reads as following in elegant Sylvan script, "Regards for your victory over the misguided Emperor and liberation of Rokae. One for each of you. - L. V."
[18:44] <@Kotono> "Did..." Myann trails off as she reacs over Feather's shoulder. "Did...?"
[18:44] <@Kotono> *reads
[18:44] <Feather> "Oh. Oh!" Feather frowns, then tilts his head and finally picks up a fruit. "We don't wanna be rude with this, so if nothing happens to me...." And then he bites into it.
[18:44] <@Kotono> OOC: Roll 1d6.
[18:44] <Feather> roll 1d6
[18:44] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d6 and gets 3." [1d6=3]
[18:45] <@John> Too far back to read the note or know what's going on, John just looks on uncomprehendingly. "Something wrong?" He couldn't read it even if he was close, at that.
[18:46] <@Kotono> The fruit tastes indescribably rich. It has no taste and is yet the richest, most fulfilling thing that Feather has ever eaten. Out of pure instinctual need he devours it down, only regaining his senses as he licks the juices off his fingers. He feels better after it, far better than he has in a good while. OOC: +1 con, Feather.
[18:46] <Feather> "Feels safe!"
[18:47] <Gildas> He tilts his head. "A present from someone?"
[18:47] <@Kotono> Myann kneels and picks up a fruit, "L.V...Lady Valisha," she sighs, Rokae must be the Sidhe we rescued. How did she find out fast enough to get this here? The logistics are mind boggling."
[18:48] <Feather> "It's not like she has to actually walk all that distance just to hear about it?"
[18:48] <Gildas> "Oh... I thought it was from Vasili." He says and bends down to pick up a fruit. "I suppose if it was from him these would look like little skulls or something, though."
[18:49] <Feather> "Why would he use Sylvan or commend us on freeing a Fair Folk?"
[18:49] <Gildas> "Because he respects them, remember?"
[18:49] <@John> "This to do with that fairy we rescued back at the Emperor's place?" John asks, still uncomprehending.
[18:49] <@Kotono> "Yes. I expect her to be wrathful if we decline such a gift," Myann murmurs, "Though that we're getting even this suggests that at least I'm doing some good. Even if I bet they call us the Lady of the Mushrooms and her servants," Making a face, "Yes John, I'm fairly certain it's about the Sidhe we rescued."
[18:50] <Feather> "That's actually fear. Lots and lots of fear."
[18:50] <Gildas> "I think he still thinks we're all..." He shakes his head and looks over at John. "Oh... we probably should tell you about her, shouldn't we?" He glances back at Feather.
[18:51] <Feather> "So yeah, John, it's kinda like a thank you except she'd be pissed if we didn't each eat one. And the fruits taste great so there's no reason not to?"
[18:51] <@Kotono> Myann signs and bites down - and promptly devours the entire fruit in moments.
[18:51] <@Kotono> roll 1d6
[18:51] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d6 and gets 1." [1d6=1]
[18:51] <@John> "Oh, alright," John walks over and picks one up, promptly scarfing it down.
[18:51] <Gildas> He shrugs and decides to eat the fruit!
[18:51] <@John> roll 1d6
[18:51] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d6 and gets 1." [1d6=1]
[18:51] <Gildas> roll 1d6
[18:51] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d6 and gets 5." [1d6=5]
[18:52] <@Kotono> The fruit is amazing - and in moments it's gone. John feels stronger, Gildas wiser. Both feel better than they have in ages, actuall. OOC: Myann and John get +1 strength, Gildas +1 wisdom. Note in Elysium what the new scores are.
[18:53] <Gildas> After ravenously finishing his fruit with a small frown, he looks over to John. "Lady Valisha is a Sidhe... leader?" He looks to Myann for confirmation on that, before looking back. "She's... a... she's an interesting type of person... if you can call her a person."
[18:53] <Feather> "She once turned me into a wolf person but then I got myself cured."
[18:54] <@John> "Can't be too bad if she gave us these, right?" John says, considering himself now sufficiently informed.
[18:54] <Feather> "Yeah, she's okay."
[18:55] <@Kotono> "She's a noble Sidhe," Myann replies, "She answers only to herself and the dictates of the nobility. To her, any human, elf or other mortal is nothing more than an animal."
[18:56] <Gildas> "I'm sure we'll cross paths with her again somehow." He shakes his head. "...Hm... you know, should we go investigate the wyverns that were near the scholar?" He says all of a sudden. "Without the Emperor, I worry about what might happen."
[18:56] <@Kotono> Rashen stands back throughout all of it, "Freaky," is all he says.
[18:57] <Feather> "Rokae will entertain herself with them?" Feather tells Gildas, totally unconcerned.
[18:58] <Gildas> He considers that for a moment. "I suppose it's possible. If they come here we will just deal with them."
[18:58] <@Kotono> "The scholar can deal with them," With a not-friendly smile at all, "He hasn't done us right and wants to lick at the feet of the Sidhe. Let him deal with it. If they come to us, we'll deal with them like the other wyverns."
[18:59] <Gildas> He nods. "Do you think we should try and have his armor repaired? It might be useful to someone... or useful to sell, at least."
[19:00] <Feather> "Waste not, want not. Who did you figure on asking about it?"
[19:01] <Gildas> "Hm..." He rubs his chin. "I met a gentleman in Malaines who referred to himself as Magus." He says, looking to Rashen for confirmation. "I think that's our best starting point."
[19:02] <Feather> "Problem is we don't know how to barter for it if we don't know what the armor does? Except burn things, I guess."
[19:02] <@John> "It was pretty solid too," John adds, "He was much easier to hit before he put it on."
[19:03] <Gildas> "Well, I think he'd repair it for us in good nature." He says. "He seemed to appreciate the amber crystals that I gave him, so I doubt that'd be a problem. He could probably even tell us everything it does."
[19:03] * Feather blinks. "He... put it on while you were hitting him?"
[19:04] * @John nods. "Yeah, just kinda popped on out of nowhere. Was pretty clever."
[19:05] <Feather> "That sounds plenty useful! Okay, let's ask that Magus when we stop by, then."
[19:06] <Gildas> He nods. "Well, anyway, I think you two were going to have a tour of your new home before we were sidetracked..."
[19:06] * Feather laughs. "Yeah, sorry 'bout that, Rashen."
[19:10] <@Kotono> "Sure," You're shown around. There's a large living room, a couple of bedrooms and a nice kitchen. There's a few other rooms and closets, all the things you'd expect. In the backyard is a big patch of open dirt, a little covered picnic table and a small, rock lined pond. "Went out on this one. Gildas wanted something smaller," Rashen notes, "John's is next thataway," inclining his head forward,
[19:10] <@Kotono> "We'll just hop the fence and go right on over."
[19:11] <Feather> "Lead on!"
[19:11] <@John> "Wow, you actually made me a house?" John asks in surprise, not having expected to get anything for himself so soon. Clearly it can't be that they want him out of the main house! "I've never had my own house before..."
[19:13] <Gildas> "Well, you did try and fight the Emperor by yourself... I'd say that's deserving of something."
[19:14] <@Kotono> "Robert insisted," Rashen remarks as you get over the fence, "A big man needs his own place, he said." Ahead is a smaller house. It's tucked away under a few trees and doesn't have a fence. "No fence yet," he remarks, "Ran out of time for it. Had to get you a bed you could sleep on and some furniture first." Lead inside, you find it to be a upsized single person house, as ifs omeone made it for
[19:14] <@Kotono> a tall human or a short giant.
[19:15] <Gildas> "You won't even hit your head on the door." He remarks.
[19:16] <@John> "Oh, I like this," he grins, not having to duck under the door, and seeing the bed looks long enough not to have his feet dangle off the edge - especially important with Winter coming! "Thanks a lot, Rashen," he turns and shakes the elf's hand. "You ever need anything done, you see me, alright?"
[19:19] <@Kotono> His grip is firm as he returns the handshake, "I'll keep that in mind when we build again," he responds, "Gildas's is a bit of a walk, it's closer to the edge of the forest. Some distance  away so if we do some more clearing that it won't be crammed in."
[19:20] <Gildas> "Ah, how thoughtful." He smiles. "I wonder how many people will end up living here in the long term..."
[19:21] <@Kotono> "As many as we can get in, I think," Rashen remarks as you head on back. It's a bit of a walk, a log cabin hidden amid a patch of trees. It has privacy and solitude, the sound of the rest of the newborn town isolated away from it.
[19:23] <Gildas> He nods with a smile. "This is perfect."
[19:26] <@Kotono> "Good. I'll leave all of you to settle in then," he remarks, "Still got a few more things to squeeze in before winter."
[19:27] <Feather> "Don't forget we're here for help with that, if you need it!"
[19:29] <Gildas> He nods to Feather. "Hopefully it will be a normal winter with no sudden ice-spewing creatures that show up on our doorstep."
