[18:00] <@Kotono> The dragon's blast of power flashes like lightning around the battlefield. As Feather fights his restraints and the others dodge...OOC: Feather, you're up. Go.
[18:04] * Feather strains his muscles, and then slams Hay Devil into the dragon's back all the way to the hilt!
[18:05] <Feather> roll 1d20+20+4-2+2 momentary glimpse, heart blow
[18:05] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+20+4-2+2 momentary glimpse, heart blow and gets 39." [1d20=15]
[18:05] <@Kotono> OOC: Hit. Crit threat?
[18:05] <Feather> roll 1d20+20+4-2+2+1+4 momentary glimpse, heart blow crit? actually forgot the +1
[18:05] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+20+4-2+2+1+4 momentary glimpse, heart blow crit? actually forgot the +1 and gets 30." [1d20=1]
[18:05] <@Kotono> OOC: Normal hit since Hatebot.
[18:05] <Feather> roll 10d6 easy come easy go, roll fort
[18:05] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 10d6 easy come easy go, roll fort and gets 29." [10d6=1, 1, 3, 2, 2, 6, 1, 5, 4, 4]

[18:06] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+20 and gets 30." [1d20=10]
[18:06] <Feather> OOC: You never gave me a fort DC for this
[18:06] <@Kotono> OOC: Paste me the description in PM.
[18:07] <Feather> OOC: I did
[18:08] <@Kotono> Feather stabs down into the dragon's armored back. He pierces in deeply, sword cleaving through scale and into the meat below. It's enough to stagger the dragon in the air, starting to turn upwards as...OOC: Gildas.
[18:08] <Gildas> Gildas-Bear opens his mouth to shoot fire at the dragon again!
[18:08] <Gildas> roll 10d6 DC is 20 Reflex
[18:08] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 10d6 DC is 20 Reflex and gets 31." [10d6=3, 2, 5, 6, 1, 4, 5, 2, 2, 1]
[18:09] <Gildas> After that, he shapeshifts into his Aerial form to start flying up after the dragon!
[18:10] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+10
[18:10] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+10 and gets 14." [1d20=4]
[18:11] <@Kotono> The fire scorches the dragon's head. It shakes away the flames as it staggers in the air further, a low growl coming from it. OOC: Go John, I need a sec so Myann'll hold for after you.
[18:12] <@John> John flies sixty feet closer and fires a crystal after briefly vanishing.
[18:13] <@John> roll 1d20+16 invis ranged touch 3 step augmented crystal shard
[18:13] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+16 invis ranged touch 3 step augmented crystal shard and gets 26." [1d20=10]
[18:13] <@John> roll 4d6+5d6
[18:13] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 4d6+5d6 and gets 37." [4d6=5, 6, 6, 1][5d6=2, 5, 6, 4, 2]
[18:14] <@Kotono> This crystal flies true, impaling the dragon in the side. Blood comes from the injury as it buckles in the air, Myann following up with a golden mushroom to Feather. OOC: Mushroomed. Dragon's up.
[18:15] <@Kotono> The dragon's wrath explodes out around you. Five dragons appear - blue, green, red, black, white. They appear around the dragon, before dozens of lines and cones of breath weapons explode out everywhere, covering the battlefield in draconic fury! OOC: 5 ref saves, all. For reference, they go in this order: Blue, green, black, red, white.
[18:16] <@John> roll 5#1d20+18 improved evasion
[18:16] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 5#1d20+18 improved evasion and gets 155." [5#1d20+18 = 27, 31, 25, 36, 36]
[18:16] <@Kotono> roll 5#1d20+12 Myann evasion
[18:16] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 5#1d20+12 Myann evasion and gets 110." [5#1d20+12 = 30, 19, 26, 14, 21]
[18:17] <Gildas> roll 5#1d20+19 improved evasion
[18:17] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 5#1d20+19 improved evasion and gets 137." [5#1d20+19 = 23, 30, 28, 30, 26]
[18:17] <Feather> roll 1d20+17+2-2 improved evasion
[18:17] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+17+2-2 improved evasion and gets 32." [1d20=15]
[18:17] <Feather> roll 4#1d20+17+2-2 improved evasion
[18:17] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 4#1d20+17+2-2 improved evasion and gets 118." [4#1d20+17+2-2 = 34, 26, 23, 35]
[18:18] <@Kotono> OOOC: John passed all and is off the hook. Myann failed green (takes her 'shroom), red and white. Gildas failed blue and that takes his mushroom. Feather failed red and that takes his mushroom.
[18:19] <@Kotono> roll 10d6-10 fire damage Myann
[18:19] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 10d6-10 fire damage Myann and gets 27." [10d6=3, 1, 1, 3, 4, 6, 6, 3, 4, 6]
[18:19] <@Kotono> roll 10d6-5 cold damage Myann
[18:19] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 10d6-5 cold damage Myann and gets 31." [10d6=1, 1, 6, 1, 5, 6, 3, 4, 5, 4]
[18:19] <@Kotono> roll 27+31
[18:19] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 27+31 and gets 58."
[18:21] <@Kotono> The blasts of fire scorch the party. Mushrooms fade and Myann is hit by fire and ice. She falls to a knee, covered in burns and frostbite. As this happens, the dragon whirls and bucks, trying to toss Feather off. OOC: Acrobatics, Feather.
[18:22] <Feather> roll 1d20+19+2-2
[18:22] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+19+2-2 and gets 33." [1d20=14]
[18:23] <@Kotono> But Feather stays on, aided by being entangled. THe dragon is wounded all over, roaring defiance as...OOC: Feather.
[18:23] * Feather does his very best to repeat his earlier success and stabs right into the deep cut he had made earlier in the dragon's back!
[18:23] <Feather> roll 1d20+20+4-2+2+1 heart blow
[18:23] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 1d20+20+4-2+2+1 heart blow and gets 30." [1d20=5]
[18:24] <@Kotono> Feather plunges his sword in - but this time the scales hold, barely. As he tries to get around for another stab...OOC: Gidlas.
[18:24] * Kotono changes topic to 'Lost Half(28)>Feather(21)>Gildas(14)>Myann(13)>John'
[18:25] <Gildas> OOC: Am I able to fly up and land on the dragon as well?
[18:26] <@Kotono> OOC: Sure, if you want.
[18:26] <Gildas> The bird darts up and around and lands on the dragon's back! Then it shapeshifts back into Dire Bear form and tries to stab a paw into it!
[18:27] <Gildas> roll 1d20+22 Might as well try SF even though it's kind of a waste
[18:27] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+22 Might as well try SF even though it's kind of a waste and gets 31." [1d20=9]
[18:27] <@Kotono> OOC: Bare hit.
[18:27] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+20
[18:27] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+20 and gets 33." [1d20=13]
[18:27] <Gildas> roll 2d8+16+1d6+1d6 cold and then fire
[18:27] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 2d8+16+1d6+1d6 cold and then fire and gets 29." [2d8=2, 5][1d6=5][1d6=1]
[18:28] <@Kotono> Gildas lands and pounds the dragon's back with its paw. It cracks several scales as it buckles even more in the air, starting to droop down! OOC: John.
[18:29] <@John> Turning invisible again, John rushes in to bash the dragon across the face with headringer!
[18:30] <@John> roll 1d20+22 invis
[18:30] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d20+22 invis and gets 33." [1d20=11]
[18:30] <@John> roll 1d6+13+5d6
[18:30] * Hatbot --> "John rolls 1d6+13+5d6 and gets 31." [1d6=1][5d6=5, 3, 4, 3, 2]
[18:31] <@Kotono> The final blow hits - the dragon's head and neck snap back, the dragon plummeting down. It says nothing as it falls and falls and - you stand on the stairs of the mountain. Ahead the purple barrier is gone. The stairs go up farther than you can see now, mists surrounding the way above. Starry light gathers around each of you, flowing into your weapons and your body. OOC: Free act. Loot post.
[18:34] <Gildas> The Dire Bear shifts its weight and then shapeshifts back. "That was... embarassing. I'm sorry for trying to kill you... ah... for a second time. But... I wonder what the creature really was..." Gildas says, a bit disappointed he didn't get to eat it.
[18:35] <@Kotono> Myann quickly murmurs a healing spell to soothe her injuries. "I have no idea."
[18:35] <@Kotono> roll 1d8+5
[18:35] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d8+5 and gets 10." [1d8=5]
[18:35] <@John> "Seemed nice before she went all mental on us and turned into a dragon," John reflects.
[18:36] <Feather> "So not really nice at all," Feather mutters. "Uh, Myann, you alright?"
[18:36] <@Kotono> "I'll live," she says, slowly picking herself up, wigglign her temporary tail as she does.
[18:38] <Gildas> "Maybe that's the sort of thing The Emperor was after... combining that much draconic power." He says with a shake of his head. "Should we continue on, or take a breather?"
[18:38] <Feather> "I'm good to go."
[18:39] <@Kotono> OOC: Going up then, y'all?
[18:39] * Feather uses the gem's last charge on Myann all the same.
[18:39] <Feather> roll 3d8+10
[18:39] * Hatbot --> "Feather rolls 3d8+10 and gets 23." [3d8=6, 5, 2]
[18:39] <@John> OOC: sure
[18:40] <@Kotono> The party heads on up. The mists are thick as you walk up, up up and higher up yet. Eventually you come not to an end - but more stairs. But standing ahead is a familiar thing, a point of light. The ones that have restored you before. It sits right in the middle of the stairs, as plain as can be.
[18:41] <@John> "Huh... was that all of the what ifs?" John wonders.
[18:42] <Feather> "Never know," Feather muses, heading for the point of light.
[18:43] <@Kotono> "I'm not sure," Myann says, "But I suppose there can be many what ifs, can't there?" On reaching the point of light, it dissolves. Energy fills the party! OOC: Full restore.
[18:43] <Feather> "Would've figured there would be one if we stayed in that other town," Feather tells Gildas.
[18:46] <Gildas> Gildas nods in return. "Or one if we had left Myann with the Sidhe or something."
[18:46] <@Kotono> "I'm just glad there isn't," Myann says shortly, continuing on.
[18:46] <@Kotono> OOC: Going up, y'all?
[18:46] <@John> OOC: yes
[18:49] <@Kotono> The party walks on and up. The mists fade and bright sunshine replaces everything. You come to the top of the mountain - a wide open place surrounded by puffy white clouds. Standing at the very tip top, 30ft ahead, is a woman. She's unremarkable and utterly plain - brown hair, brown eyes and brown peasant dress. She looks down from the peak, turning to watch the party. "Eh? So you're the ones
[18:49] <@Kotono> I have to kill?" Even her voice is unremarkable.
[18:50] <@John> "You don't have to if you don't want to," John offers in typical concillatory fashion.
[18:51] <Feather> "Yeah. That goes badly for all who try. 'Sides, you look nice!"
[18:52] <Gildas> Gildas decides to just try a basic Detect Magic, since these things are usually not exactly what they appear to be...
[18:52] <@Kotono> "I'd say that's a possibility," she hms to herself, "Except I think that possibility is already gone. I was created to battle you. No, that possibility was never possible." OOC: Will save, Gildas.
[18:53] <Gildas> roll 1d20+16 (+2 if enchantment, +4 if fey, +4 if sleep)
[18:53] * Hatbot --> "Gildas rolls 1d20+16 (+2 if enchantment, +4 if fey, +4 if sleep) and gets 26." [1d20=10]
[18:53] <Feather> "It's not gone till you attack us and force our hand!"
[18:54] <@John> "Fair enough, I guess you are our dream final battle," John concedes.
[18:54] <@Kotono> Gildas has to shut the spell down immediately. The sheer radiance of the magic here is overwhelming. "I don't have a choice," The woman says, "I'm the final opponent you'll face here. I am the concept of opposition, of possibilities. I am every enemy you could ever face, together and unified."
[18:55] <Feather> "So if you're a concept of opposition, why not oppose the reason you exist? That's gotta be more important than opposing us."
[18:56] <@Kotono> "I..." The woman stops and slowly stares ahead, eyes unblinking. "Could I oppose that? Could I oppose my own opposition?"
[18:56] <Gildas> "She definitely isn't making that up..." Gildas adds with a frown. "Well, there are infinite possibilities, aren't there? So if you attack us an infinite number of times, there's an infinite number of times where you do not... isn't that right?"
[18:57] <@Kotono> "I...if there are infinite..." she mutters, unblinking stare widening. "How many could I oppose? But how could I oppose myself?"
[18:57] <@Kotono> roll 1d20+10
[18:57] * Hatbot --> "Kotono rolls 1d20+10 and gets 30." [1d20=20]
[18:58] <Feather> "Opposing your maker and purpose for existing has gotta be the ultimate act of opposition," Feather states confidently.
[19:02] <@Kotono> "I...I..." Then suddenly the woman's face breaks out into a smile. A serene smile as she raises her arms up, as if welcoming the sun. She then brings them inward, becoming blades. With a snicker-snack of metal, the woman neatly decapitates herself. Her head falls, blood gushing out like a mountain from her severed neck. Then her body puffs out and explodes in a burst of light, energy covering
[19:02] <@Kotono> everything. Ahead of you, near where her body was (which seems to be gone now), four treasure chests emerge. Each one opens - a book, a ring, a gem and a clasp. Knowledge of what they are fills you. OOC: Free act, loot post. Congratulations, you gave the super bonus boss a logic bomb death.
[19:02] <Gildas> Gildas blinks. "Did we just win by not fighting for once?"
[19:03] <@John> John abruptly looks horrified. "That's... that's not what I wanted!"
[19:03] <Feather> "More than one way to fight," Feather says sagely. While as horrified as John originally, once the blood turned into harmless light he's able to just shrug it off.
[19:04] <@Kotono> Myann stares and slowly rubs her temple. "I suppose...it wasn't anything normal, but just another dream shard?"
[19:04] <Gildas> "I think she'll always exist... or not exist." Gildas observes with a look around.
[19:05] <@John> "Yeah, I guess she couldn't have ever left here," John admits to console himself. "Anyway, I think... that book got written by Young Hubert! I wonder if there's a real version out there somewhere?" he wonders, going over to claim it.
[19:05] <@Kotono> Myann goes to the ring and puts it on. "This ring is incredible," she admits in a slightly shaky voice. "I can feel my magic expanding when I wear it."
[19:06] * Feather pats his armor in satisfaction, musing that it was likely the best purchase of his life.
[19:06] <Gildas> "I think it was a combination of everything... I mean, dreams... Dreams have an infinite amount of power, don't they?" Gildas says as he steps to take the clasp. "Because you can do anything in a dream... I wonder if we can explore those stairs down now."
[19:07] <@John> "Yeah, reckon we ought to give it a look," John agrees as he thumbs through the book.
[19:08] <@Kotono> OOC: Heading back down?
[19:08] <Gildas> OOC: Indeed.
[19:10] <@Kotono> The party walks back down. It's not far before the mists clear - and like that, you're standing in front of the Holset Farmstead. It's a sunny day, evening and sunset just starting to creep along. Robert's coming around the side of the house, carrying a bucket in each hand. He raises one up in greeting, "Ho there, neighbors!" he says agreeably, "Back from your latest trip?"
[19:10] <Feather> "Looks like it!"
[19:11] <@Kotono> Myann looks around before shrugging, "I admit going home sounded like a good idea," she murmurs.
[19:11] <Gildas> Gildas blinks and looks around. "Indeed..." He scratches his cheek. "Oh well, we can chalk it up to another set of possibilities."
[19:11] <@John> "Guess it was a one or the other thing," John muses, still pleased to have saved a walk home.
[19:12] <@Kotono> "There's still time to put some mushrooms on for dinner," Myann looks to the sky, "Who's hungry?"
[19:13] <@John> "Could go for a bite."
[19:14] <Gildas> Gildas smiles. "I'm not normally, but after all of that, I think I can indulge."
