[22:01] <@Kotono> Erad flies on over. The rear to the east is full of wagons, he can note, more coming down the road. At least another dozen that he can see in the rainy day, perhaps more beyond the edge of his sight.
[22:02] <@Erad> Erad decides to hover. He'll either be spotted or the action will start somewhere else and he can get some people's attention.
[22:12] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay, let me hold you a line or two.
[22:20] <@Kotono> Erad can see Annerose to the left. She's advancing as a blizzard, soldiers running from her. To the right he can see Inari and company advance, a small fire started and soldiers rallying against them.
[22:21] <@Erad> Erad nods. Time to go, then! He will advance and fly within 60 feet! "Kabath soldiers! You now face the combined might of Bahamut and his allies! Surrender or you will regret it!"
[22:24] <@Kotono> OOC: Where precisely are you advancing to?
[22:25] <@Erad> OOC: The middle, as best as he can tell.
[22:25] <@Kotono> OOC: Okay.
[22:26] <@Kotono> Erad's words echo as the village begins to come alive. Soldiers are rushing out of the horses, wagon-loadings stop as blades and steel are drawn. Erad's words gets attention as...OOC: Intimidation.

[20:12] <@Kowork> Erad's words get attention - "Fuck, they're attacking from the sky!" is heard from one of them, as a few others have bow and arrows, promptly firing up at Erad.

[20:14] <@Kowork> The arrows are generally easy to dodge - except one fluky, perfect shot. It lands right in his foot, piercing through it from the bottom to the top. That hurts, jolting Erad with sheer pain. OOC: Go.
[20:16] <@Erad> Erad mutters, but uses some of his inner vitality to heal himself. "Is that the best you idiots can do? Where's your magic weapon?" He shouts, trying to further draw their attention. OOC: Using Wholeness of body to recover and staying where I am.
[20:21] <@Kowork> The wound heals, arrow pushes out of his foot and falling back down. You can see people scurrying all about - the storm of Annerose grows closer, while soldiers and heroes meet ont he other side. Meanwhile...OOC: You can try intimidate again with a +2 bonus, see if they'll buy your attempt. It's fairly creative, at least.
[20:23] <@Erad> "If you all know what's good for you, you'll just lay down your arms and surrender! If you don't, I can't guarantee your safety!" Erad shouts!

[20:27] <@Kowork> A door from a nearby building is thrown open, the guard turning only to be overwhelmed. Several ragged people in tattered clothes erupt out, a few with weapons. "Go go go!" T's voice is heard amid it, from somewhere inside. The archers turn at that as well, only a single arrow snapped off at Erad.

[20:40] <@Erad> OOC: Oh, okay.
[20:41] <@Erad> "You had your warning!" Erad shouts as he flies down to disable this foolish archer!

[20:51] <@Kowork> Erad lands amid the chaos, a quick, powerful kick sending the archer flying into the mud. He's not getting up. Around you more chaos - the freed people are gushing out - several dozen. T walks out as soldiers panic and defend themselves, "Erad!"
[20:52] <@Erad> Erad glances around to make sure the civilians aren't getting too caught up in a fight. "It might've been a better idea to leave them in there so they don't get harmed, but... for now, let's just subdue anyone else?" He asks.
[20:57] <@Kowork> "No, in here," he calls, "Someone needs help or they'll die!"
[20:58] <@Erad> "What--" No time for questions, he realizes. He runs in to see what's going on!
[21:03] <@Kowork> You rush in, hearing the cries of a woman from the back. It's a store it looks like, or once was. "She's giving birth and it's going wrong. There's a lot of blood," T says shortly, "I promised them magic to save her and the baby."
[21:05] <@Erad> Erad moves over and puts a hand on the woman. First thing's first, the actual healing. OOC: I will use 10 points of Lay on Hands but also do a Heal check to see if there's anything magic isn't going to fix, or if I need to somehow touch the baby too.
[21:08] <@Kowork> You find the woman in the back. She's understandably lacking anything like clothing at the moment, and there is a lot of blood. A cut and tearing in a rather sensitive and important area down below, healed. The baby's head is just starting to poke through and she's gasping, crying and whimpering. OOC: Heal.
[21:09] <@Erad> roll 1d20+12
[21:09] <Serith> Erad roll for Serith < 25 > [d20=13]
[21:12] <@Kowork> She's having a tough birth - the danger isn't passed to either of them. The woman looks up - flushed, sweaty and panting. Her brown hair is limp and her face is dirty as she stares, "Whaaaaagh!?" she begins, going into a pained gasp.
[21:12] <@Kowork> "Don't worry, he'll help you," T says, turning to watch the door.
[21:13] <@Erad> OOC: Would I know if more healing would help?
[21:18] <@Kowork> OOC: It might if she tears again. You can tell she primarily needs someone to help her with a hard, dangerous birth.
[21:19] <@Erad> "Looks like it's time to play doctor again..." Erad says as he moves in to help. "T, you're going to have to help me with this, which means we're not in any position to help the others right now."
[21:27] <@Kowork> T sighs and says, "Fine, fine," he says. OOC: What's your plan here?
[21:28] <@Erad> OOC: Inuition and heal checks to help give birth, healing magic to cover any complications and T can help if something else goes wrong.
[21:29] <@Kowork> OOC: Inuition?
[21:30] <@Erad> OOC: Intuition

[21:38] <@Kowork> It takes time - hard time. But slowly you coax the baby out and heal two more tears (5 more lay on hands). But soon enough you hold a baby in your arms, a baby boy. As the woman pants in pain, "Nice going," T murmurs.
[21:39] <@Erad> "Go check on the others." Erad says as he checks the baby over for any obvious problems.
[21:39] <@Kowork> "Right," T says. OOC: Heal.

[21:43] <@Kowork> Looks healthy enough to you, anyway.
[21:43] <@Erad> Erad lets out a breath and hands the baby over. He'll check the woman too to make sure she isn't also sick or something, which might've caused the original problem to begin with.
[21:48] <@Kowork> OOC: Heal again.

[21:48] <@Kowork> She's pale but seems in good health - now, anwyay. "My baby," she cries, holding him tight. "Thank you, whoever you are. Thank you!"
[21:50] <@Erad> "There'll be time for introductions later." Erad says quietly. "For now, know the blessings of Bahamut and his allies are on you and your child and rest." He does look around for some clothes for the woman, or at least some sheets to help wrap her in.
[21:57] <@Kowork> This is easily done. OOC: Now what?
[21:59] <@Erad> OOC: I suppose I'll go meet up with the others and we can see who we need to take prisoner and so on and so forth. I know I had at least one guy KO'ed, not sure on T's part.
[22:02] <@Kowork> OOC: Sure.

[22:02] <@Kotono> Inari, Helena and Rock advance on the right flank. There's less tents here - instead, there's a fenced in yard full of barrels. You're about 200ft away, approaching. A few soldiers are about, guarding the yard. None are immediately looking the party's way.
[22:05] <@Inari> Inari casts a few more spells on the advance before they get into range to really get into any kind of fight. "I'll set the barrels alight then we can rush in amidst the confusion," she suggests, getting thirty feet closer before throwing some foxfire at the barrels! OOC: shield of faith and divine favour and aid cast on the way.

[22:14] <@Kotono> The others follow as Inari throws her flames. The barrel goes up in flames immediately, though not greatly as the wet wood fights against it. The rain doesn't help, either. But at this alarm goes up, soldiers turning, "Enemy attack!" One is heard shouting. There's a msass of them 170ft away, whirling around and advancing ont he party. "For Malana!" she shouts, since it seems like the done thing. And then more quietly, "Don't worry

[20:14] <@Kowork> Somehow Rock doesn't break and run, staring at the flames but not fleeing. Meanwhile Helena charges 100ft forward, covering muddy ground swiftly. Rock meanwhile bellows and chases, only 20ft behind Helena. OOC: Soldiers are up.
[20:20] <@Kowork> The soldiers charge as one, coming ahead 60ft and a mere 40ft from Helena, 60ft from Rock and 80ft from Inari. They have weapons out and are flat out charging. OOC: Go.
[20:21] <@Inari> Keeping her focus on maintaining the illusory inferno for now, Inari follows her friends at a more sedate pace, her spear poised to interrupt anyone that thinks about rushing her.

[20:40] <@Inari> Unfortunately it just isn't causing the right amount of panic to justify the effort, so Inari ceases actively maintaining the illusion. It'll still last a little while for all that it does matter, but in any case she ought to get herself involved which she does by rushing into battle alongside Rock and Helena! "Go back to Kabath, we don't want you here!" she shouts while stabbing at an

[20:49] <@Inari> "I don't think the fire did much to scare them," Inari says, shrugging off the effort since they dealt with opposition anyway. "Come on, lets press in further to keep them from rallying?" she says, moving further into the village.
[20:59] <@Kowork> "Right," Helena agrees, as the trio continues inward. Soldiers are panicking in the main streets - running about, some retreating and a few wagons turning around. Others are in a messy, grand melee between ragged, somewhat armed people and soldiers. Absolute chaos is spreading, bodies falling and blood flowing.
[21:00] <@Inari> Not wanting them to flee with their supplies, Inari throws some foxfire at the wheels of a wagon towards the front of the procession so it'll block the progress of those coming after it. Then she wades into the melee! "Run, flee! This isn't your land!"

[21:57] <@Kowork> Chaos. The end of a battle, people going about. Inari healing. Rock fighting. Helena defending. But it's winding down now, the soldiers fleeing or dead. Annerose can see this as she approaches.
[21:58] <Annerose> "Another battle won," Annerose comments, coming over.
[21:59] <@Inari> "And won well," Inari says, going to put out any fires she started now that the injured have been seen to, and repairing that broken wagon so it can be commandeered. "Everyone, start loading the wagons with supplies. You won't be able to stay here, but you'll be well equipped for any journey deeper into Malana."
[22:01] * Annerose helps Inari with the fires, otherwise not interfering with what seems to be working.
[22:02] <@Kowork> OOC: Go ahead and summarize your plans here to set them up. We have to pause early since I have some stuff to do before work, so.
[22:04] <@Inari> OOC: pile as many supplies as we can onto the wagons left behind and get the former prisoners moving back into Malana, destroy any supplies left behind, then continue onwards to the fort?
[22:04] <@Inari> OOC: we can take some supplies as well for our own use.
[22:04] <Annerose> OOC: Also, check if there's any written information left behind by the Kabath soldiers that's interesting to us
[22:05] <@Erad> OOC: If there's anything useful (read: magical I guess?) we can take it with us but otherwise send all the food and other provisions with the villagers

[20:21] <@Kowork> The faces of gratitude and joy. Freed citizens of Malana are aided by the party as others look about. It's a blur of activity, hurrying along before more soldiers arrive at the town. Meanwhile the party looks around for magical items. There's the ring and pendant on the Essence Caller Annerose defeated. In addition, you find the following in a storage cache. OOC: Loot.
[20:36] <@Kowork> After a frantic two hours, most of the people and wagons are gone. The party's getting ready themselves when T comes up, "Hey there," he call, holding some papers close to chest against the rain, hunched over. He hurries into the wagon. "Got a few things."
[20:39] <Annerose> "Yes?"
[20:39] <@Inari> "Anything good?" Inari asks as she finishes straightening out their new cargo for departure.
[20:45] <@Kowork> "Few things," T sits down inside as Rock loads more cargo, Helena helping. "First of all, requisition reports - to sum up a lot of dry reading, they're forcing supplies east at a good clip. Looks like they're gearing up for something, but that's hardly a surprise. More confirmation., yeah?"
[20:46] <@Inari> Inari nods, taking a seat to listen.
[20:46] <@Kowork> With a grunt as she lifts up a crate of food into the wagon, "Probably on Adamantine or trying to break it."
[20:46] <@Kowork> With a grunt as she lifts up a crate of food into the wagon, "Probably on Adamantine or trying to break it." Helena says.
[20:50] <@Kowork> "Probably," T concurs as he kicks back, putting the papers down. "Not as much food as you'd expect, so I strongly suspect they're planning on breaking through and living off plunder."
[20:51] <@Inari> "Given the state of harvests in the country that won't work out great for them. Worse for us though," Inari says.
[20:52] <Annerose> "Does it look like they have many camps like this, or we actually set them back here?"
[20:53] <@Kowork> "That's the second thing. There's a network of camps and villages from here on back," T gestures, "Typical military logistics. We'll comeo n two more before our destination, so it may be wise to avoid them. With those fleeing soldiers, they'll know we're coming. We won today largely by surprise and sheer daring. That won't work so well if they know we're coming."
[20:54] <@Inari> "Not from this direction," Inari says, "But if we attack from the other direction on the way back we could do some damage... assuming it's worth the delay, we may just want to rush for Adamantine with the weapons immediately."
[20:56] <Annerose> "There's also the way their fear of us will grow," Annerose muses. "We took the camp and sent the soldiers fleeing. The tales they'd tell of this will grow."
[20:57] <@Kowork> "Yeah," T agrees, "Thirdly," T pauses to go on, riffling through the papers, "Funny thing - t here's a bounty on ol' Maggen. 8,000 bolts - that's the gold coin of Kabath. It accuses him of everything we'd suspect and a bunch of thing I think they made up. They really want him dead."
[20:58] <@Inari> "Do you think we might be able to claim that after the war's over?" Inari asks innocently, tails swishing around behind her in anticipation.
[20:58] <Annerose> "Couldn't happen to a nicer man."
[20:58] <@Kowork> Hopping up as Rock finishes the last of the loading, "Well, they're right about that, at least. But so's a broken clock twice a day." She wrinkles her nose, "Buuuuuut it's probably not claimable, unless we defect. I suspect the Dynast would be unhappy about us claiming a foreign bounty on a Lord."
[20:59] <@Kowork> This draws a grunt from T, "I think the reward will be him going off to Auril's frigid tits instead of sickening Malana. The gold's just icing."
[20:59] <@Erad> "Do any of those reports seem to indicate Adamantine is actually under attack now?" Erad asks.
[21:00] <@Kowork> "Not in that many words," T says, "But it's clear as day otherwise. Lots of troop movements, supply focuses forward, that manner of thing."
[21:01] <Annerose> "Any idea if we would be best served pressing to get the relics or taking out those supply camps and delaying the invasion?"
[21:01] <@Inari> "We already knew it was besieged, but unless they use their wall-breaking weapon it should be able to hold out for some time," Inari says, going to the front of the wagon now they're all loaded up. "I'm going to get us moving now, we can discuss as we go."
[21:03] <Annerose> "While we do, why not think up a name for ourselves?" Annerose muses. "We're in a good situation for that. I was thinking something along the lines of new dawn, but it's not really catchy."
[21:04] <@Kowork> "Hmmmm." T considers a little bit, "I'd considered that."
[21:04] <@Kowork> "Hm. Something to do with the dawn and light? Daybreak? Aurora? Dawn Riders?" Helena proposes, one after another.
[21:05] <Annerose> "Yeah, I was thinking that since everyone seems to call this age our world's twilight, we should aim to change it around?"
[21:06] <@Inari> "Or we could go with a different theme... the Vivacious Vixens, perhaps?" Inari suggests with a straight face and twitching tails. "Or the Furious Foxes?"
[21:06] <Annerose> "I'll be furious, alright~"
[21:09] <@Kowork> T facepalms without a word.
[21:09] <@Kowork> Helena glances at Erad, "You have a better idea. Maybe?"
[21:11] <@Erad> "Well, we're from all over... and we all have different backgrounds... hmm." Erad rubs his chin. "I'm not so great with this sort of thing... but I suppose... uhh... I dunno... ...Dawn something? Dawn Brigade?"
[21:13] <@Kowork> T makes a face, "That sounds like a bunch of kids playing around a tree fort. It lacks any zip, anything powerful."
[21:13] <@Inari> "Brigade sounds too militaristic," Inari complains. "We need something more whimsical."
[21:14] <Annerose> "Aurora sounds kind of nice," Annerose admits.
[21:14] <@Inari> "Too nice, though. It's the sort of thing that's probably been taken already."
[21:14] <@Kowork> roll 1d20+10
[21:14] <Serith> Kowork roll for Serith < 23 > [d20=13]
[21:15] <@Kowork> "It is," Helena says, "A bunch of devil killers use it as a name."
[21:15] <Annerose> "You know what they say about imitation...."
[21:15] <@Inari> "It's for people with no good ideas of their own?"
[21:15] <@Kowork> Rock looks up at all of this, "Brigade. Eat?" He asks, looking at Inari and speaking in fractured Common. "Nice brigade. Nice name."
[21:16] * Annerose laughs
[21:16] <@Kowork> T chuckles, "We should go original rather than ripping something off."
[21:17] <@Erad> "How about 'Light of Dawn,' or is that too... generic?" Erad asks.
[21:17] <@Erad> "Or Light's Dawn, I guess..." Erad says more to himself. "But that might give people the idea that we all follow Lathander..."
[21:17] <@Inari> "Sorry, Rock," Inari looks back at the troll, "You can't eat a brigade. I'm glad you like it though," if only because he's at least showing an interest. "I'm not really feeling all the dawn or light names. They just don't have any spark to them."
[21:19] <@Kowork> "Light's Dawn isn't bad," T admits, "We should probably just choose something, rather than dickering over it all afternoon.
[21:19] <@Kowork> "
[21:19] <Annerose> "Not like we really have anything better to do on the road," Annerose muses. "What about Sparks? It's lively and exciting, and probably not taken."
[21:20] <@Inari> "It's not as if we have to pick right away. Hmmm... what about Wardens, or Guardians? Maybe Sentinels? Work that in with some sort of fluffy nice term... ooh, what about Spark Hunters? That sounds good, doesn't it?"
[21:21] <@Kowork> roll 1d20+10
[21:21] <Serith> Kowork roll for Serith < 16 > [d20=6]
[21:21] <@Kowork> "No," Helena says flatly. "That's the name of the Lord of Hell's pesonal assassins, according to lore."
[21:22] <@Inari> "Really?" Inari snickers, breaking into a full on laugh after a moment. "What are the odds?"
[21:22] <Annerose> "Spark Guardians, maybe? Opposing Hell would be a nice touch."
[21:23] <@Inari> "Y'know," Inari says, cooling down a little, "That actually has a nice ring to it."
[21:27] <@Erad> "Spark Guardians?" Erad repeats. "I don't know... People would probably ask what kind of spark we were guarding."
[21:27] <@Inari> "The spark of goodness!"
[21:27] <Annerose> "If people are talking about us, that works!"
[21:28] <@Kowork> "Hell if I know," T says, "It does beg the question of what the hell spark we're guarding, yeah."
[21:28] <Annerose> "Does anyone ask Hell what sparks they're hunting?"
[21:29] * @Inari looks expectantly at Helena.
[21:31] <@Kowork> "Souls," Helena says, shaking her head. "The souls of heroes."
[21:32] <Annerose> "I'm fine with safeguarding the souls of heroes."
[21:32] <@Kowork> T rubs his chin, "How about, T, Erad and the Magical Ladies?"
[21:32] <@Inari> "Hmm, but we don't actually do that, do we? It could raise questions... and hey, don't forget Rock!" she rounds on T.
[21:32] <Annerose> "Rock will eat you."
[21:34] <@Erad> "...How about something that actually describes what we've done? Well, you all started it, but when I met you all I saw you like a light in the darkness, like a beacon." Erad says. "So maybe... I dunno, Hope's Beacon? Spark's Beacon?"
[21:34] <@Kowork> T grins at that, "Nah, it's implied that the ladies ar-OW!" T winces as Helena smacks him upside the head, rubbing the impact site after. "How about just Beacon?"
[21:35] <@Erad> "Hm... that's certainly easy enough to remember." Erad says.
[21:37] <@Inari> "Oh!" Inari suddenly brightens, "What about the Torch Bearers?" she asks. "Since we're keeping the torch of decency and kindness alight in this cruel world?"
[21:38] <Annerose> "Nice."
[21:39] <@Erad> "If we go that route, I'd say just call ourselves Torches." Erad says.
[21:39] <@Erad> "Or maybe 'The Torches,' I suppose."
[21:40] <Annerose> "If we're keeping it simple to one word, maybe Guardians?"
[21:41] <@Inari> "It needs at least two words," Inari insists. "I mean we could keep it generic and go with something like the Crimson Guardians, but you need two words at minimum. Maybe maximum, too, don't want it getting too unwieldy."
[21:44] <@Kowork> "Hmmmm," Helena says, "I like The Torches a lot, or Torch Bearers."
[21:46] <@Erad> "Remember, we'll probably have to shout it during battle." Erad says. "So..." He clears his throat and then points dramatically down the road. "Now you face us, The Torches!" then he clears his throat again. "Get ready, the Torch Bearers are coming!" then he slackens a bit. "I dunno, they both have their ups and downs the first one seems easier to get out. I think the second makes it sound like
[21:46] <@Erad> more of a religious thing."
[21:48] <@Inari> "I don't know, you manage to get 'Bahamut and his allies' out fairly easily, I think we could manage 'Torch Bearers'. Also you know some smart person is going to say something like, 'Oooh, it's the torches? Well lets see you go up like them!' before fireballing us."
[21:48] <Annerose> "How horrifying."
[21:50] <@Kowork> "Inevitable," T remarks with his own smile, "It's just too easy a shot to make."
[21:50] <@Erad> Erad chuckles. "You're right. I'm fine with Torcch Bearers, though. It does exemplify the burden that we're all carrying with us."
[21:53] <@Kowork> "So it's Torch Bearers?" Helena takes out a brush, working and straightening her hair in the meantime.
[21:53] <Annerose> "Let's give it a try. We can always change it later if it doesn't catch on."
[21:54] <@Inari> "It's no Spark Hunters, but I'm happy with it," Inari says. She did suggest it after all.
