The hunt for goldenfire (Afina and Jaela, later Surraruthru too)

"I'm sure Tiamat has a big list of everything in her hoard even if she can track it all down to the last copper anyway. It'd be a point of pride, wouldn't it?" Afina muses.

[Anastasia]

"Pride, hm?" Kascha murmurs as you fly on. Ahead is the sun in the starry sky, overshadowing all else. The sun becomes larger and larger as you approach, soon blocking out everything ahead. It is hot here, painfully hot and getting hotter. For Afina it is no problem. Surrurathru finds it extremely unpleasant, as does Jaela.

Last time, Jaela was protected by Afina's gift of fire-elementalness. No such luck this time. Fire resistance 10 helps a bit.

Kascha quickly starts to chant, "Dragon Princess, open the gates of the Cauldron and fill me with the essence of Fire." Her spell weaves around her like orange-red string, transforming her body into that of a fire elemental's.

Mirajane holds her hand out just as Jaela goes to materalize it, "Thank you, Mother," she says.

OOC: I don't have any resistance spells prepped, so I'd need to drop my invis if someone wants to cast one on me?

Surraruthru drops his invisibility and flies close to the others with a low rumble of discomfort.

"Hot. I don't have anything for hot. I need something for hot, please?"

Jaela grins. "If it comes to that, we could lead a double charge!"

"Mmm." Gae Ardaigh stirs once Mirajane takes the spear, "A new wielder?"

"Yes, and because it's needed right now," Mirajane answers back.

"Come here, Surraruthru," Afina offers, waving him over. "I can either give you some resistance against fire or make you partially a fire elemental for the day. Which would you prefer?" she offers.

[Iron Dragoon]

"Fire elemental? Fire elemental!" He zips over to Afina with an exclamation of joy and an exuberant look of expectation, staring at Afina the whole time with a fanged grin.

"Good choice," Afina smiles approvingly, laying one hand on the hilt of one of the swords at her back and reaching out to touch Surrurathru's snout with the other. After a few seconds fire suffuses him, burning through his body without pain and temporarily reforging the fairy dragon as a creature of heat and flame!

Half-fire elemental template gives Surrurathru the following:

As fire fills in Surraruthru, the party rises higher yet. Solar flares shoot around you as the party ascends higher. Winds whip against you, solar winds rivaling Fire. The bursts of sunfire do not burn you at all, even when they wash over the party. As you ascend up, the sun looms larger. You can see something amid this. Ahead is a great opening, an upside down mountain hanging in the air above, the base of it clinging ot a great sea of golden light. As if a volcano was placed here upside down.
