Hand in claw, the three join together. Ebony utters strange words and then you're simply elsewhere, nary a moment of disorientation before it's suddenly much colder. You float in waters lit by ambient light from nowhere, as well as faintly glowing coral and floating ice. It sends light all aorund, mostly a pale white-blue but with warmer oranges and reds near coral. It's like being in a large cave with a great pole of ice through the middle.

All around you are passages in the masses of ice, kelp, coral and so forth to explore, going in all directions. Brightly colored fish swim about in large schools, while several oversized, horn laden sharks swim here and there.

Surraruthru inspects the area, looking for the tower they're there to target, but also watching the sharks.

Kascha also looks around, while Ebony murmurs, "Careful now, the inhabitants may think we're food." She murmurs, keeping her gaze solely on them.

No sign of the lost manor you're looking for, though the Icemast is quite visible in the middle of the area. It's a big, thick pole of ice that extends in two directions, longer than the area and boring a hole through the ice to continue on.

"Well, towards that, then, I suppose. Everyone ready?"

A few nods as you begin to go along.

Oh boy.

You begin to go - before suddenly the sharks start to move. Away from you, that is, fleeing as fast as they can. "Eh?" Kascha stops and stares, "Are we really that intimidating? Animals usually like celestials."

"Perhaps they recognize Ebony and I as predators? Or something else might have startled them..."

[Anastasia]

"I haven't been a predator in a long time. A lifetime ago," Ebony murmurs, looking about.

"May-" Kascha begins, but stops. Coming from above you, in a gap in the ice near the Icemast, is a humanoid figure. It seems shark-like, as if a shark and a human were blended together. Its head is sharkish, gaze sharp on the three as it stares at them.

"Hm? Travelers?" He asks, overly muscled body barely hidden by expensive looking clothes that are colored a pristine white, not a hint of water touching his body, a thin layer of air surrounding him. He addresses the three in draconic, "Dragonling and celestials. So far away from home, so lost and so forgotten," he says, "You've come to my territory, and with that comes my toll."

Surraruthru narrows his eyes at this being, trying to assess him or remember any bit of lore that mentions a being like this. Dragons part with treasure grudgingly, and having a toll imposed on him sits... poorly.

This creature is likely an aberration, but not one you've ever heard of before. Something's wrong here, this form may not be natural.

"Interesting... Who and what are you, and what's this toll?"

[Anastasia]

"You presume much," Ebony says softly in common, gazing on at the strange shark humanoid. She also switches to draconic, "Avarice is a sin, a ever-hungry shadow over your heart. Its golden fingers will wrap around your heart and never let go, no matter to what ruin it leads you to."

"More importantly, why draconic? You don't look like a dragon," Kascha challenges, "Nor a dragon blooded creature."

The shark creature laughs, "Pitiful. Bound to your eyes and grasping at straws. At least the dragonling understand the proper order of things. The toll is as much gold as I saw it is. In this case, enough to fill this." He snaps his fingers, a cauldron of ice forming out of the cold waters. It's several feet in diameter and several more deep, quite the large cauldron indeed.
