Pixie on the town (Moore)

[Nephrite]

"I tried to get some bearing on where we were, you know, that spell that lets you see for miles around?" Moore explains. "But there was... something that seemed to shake me. I wonder what it was, exactly... I don't want to upset anyone, but... well, at the same time, if there's some force of evil here, we should probably investigate. What do you think?"

[Anastasia]

"If there's evil here, we'll smash it with the light of the sun." Moonlight says, "Even if it ribbits at us."

[Nephrite]

Moore takes a breath. "All right, then, in that case, I'm going to try again." He casts some preparatory spells first, then tries to cast Lay of the Land again.

He is casting Improvisation and Tyche's Touch before casting Lay of the Land.

[Anastasia]

This time there's no trouble. There's one solid spot a good ways 'above' you. Several miles, but some sort of solid landmass. A temple of sorts, yes, with pond and places to farm.

[Nephrite]

Moore rubs his chin afterwards, but looks in that direction. "Nothing that time, maybe it passed by... hm. There's something up there -- seems to be some kind of temple." He takes a breath. "I don't think anything is in it, but just in case, we may as well check it out." He'll start to head in that direction.

[Anastasia]

"Probably a githzerai monastery," Moonlight says, "Most creatures aren't desperate or suicidal enough to make a home in Limbo. Slaad excluded."

[Nephrite]

"Well, either way, we may as well investigate. If there's nothing there then all we've lost is some time." Moore says as he starts to head in that direction!

You rise up and soon make it to the monastery. It's a quiet pocket of Limbo, a great slab of earth with a sturdy building of stone atop it. It's a walled building, with a dome covering the outer courtyard and closed gates leading within.

[Nephrite]

Moore will cast Detect Magic before going any further, as he doesn't want to be surprised by some sort of terrible trap!

There's magic here, but fading magic. Magic to keep away Limbo, starting to crumble but still effective. Something happened to destabilize it. If not restored, wild chaos will consume this place in a few day's time.

[Nephrite]

"...That's weird. They must've used this as a base or something, had magic to keep the forces of Limbo out... but I guess they're not maintaining it anymore." Moore says as he goes forward towards the front to see if the door is open.

[Anastasia]

You find the gate is not locked. As you get close, you can hear the sounds of ...eating? Tearing flesh, gulping, devouring.

[Nephrite]

Moore wrinkles his nose. "I think it might be time for that smiting thing you're so good at, Moonlight." Moore says as he casts a quick spell to create some duplicates of himself before he moves in the direction of the sound.
