Yggdrasil (Afina, Moore, Jaela)

Afina goes silent and stands at ready attention in the face of her Queen's rebuke, no more time to toss acerbic observations back and forth with Crystal.

[Anastasia]

Crystal does precisely the same as Afina, at the ready.

Moore thinks it could be an erinyes. They can be temptresses just like succubi. It could be a unique fiend or simply a temptress taking a pleasing guise. Hard to narrow it down without more information, unfortunately. A vampire wasn't the worst guess, but it seems to be ruled out.

"I had to try," The woman says, a note of heartbreaking regret. She turns back to her portrait, running a hand along the now empty image. "A chance encounter, two ships passing in the foggy night. Best for all of us to think of it like that and put it behind us."

[Corwin]

"Or you could just be quirky and tell me the truth," Jaela offers brightly. "For a Crusade against Hell we're surprisingly inclusive! Unless you're a devil yourself, we're just not that inclusive. But hey, the terms are pretty great!"

[Ebiris]

"Renegade devils are acceptable if they have a proven record of opposition to Hell that stretches back before our Crusade began," Afina offers helpfully. Antenora's okay in her book, but she wouldn't trust any recently reformed devils not to be an obvious ploy to infiltrate them.

[Anastasia]

Jaela gets a long, sad look before the woman begins to walk away, back the way all of you came.

A chance to stop her or let her go as you please.

[Corwin]

"Sorry," Jaela tells the others, shrugging. "Sometimes people don't want to be recruited. Or maybe she's much weaker than she seems and doesn't want to get involved with the Crusade." Turning towards Ilsenine, she asks, "Since I'm just a guest in the secret fey heaven, is it alright to just let her go, Your Majesty?"

[Anastasia]

"Let her go," Ilsenine commands, "We don't know for sure that she's an agent of evil."

"Though I do firmly believe she is a succubus or similar creature," Crystal adds, "Or someone who acts much like one."

[Corwin]

At Ilsenine's words, Jaela can't help but check for evil. She does nod her acceptance, however. Agent of evil or not, if she's not supposed to be here and tries to get farther, Bella would no doubt be trapped once more.

[Ebiris]

"Well who wants to take the next one?" Afina offers, thinking they should exhaust all the twitchy paintings before they proceed.

[Anastasia]

"All yours," Afina says agreeably, starting to head towards the gelugon's painting.

[Corwin]

She's got plenty of faith that the heaven's defenses will work properly on the evil girl. Who Jaela is still sure must be an ancient vampire.

But right now she accompanies Afina to the gelugon.

"Your Majesty, if I might be so bold, to avoid any further complications... I think as spell to see all as they truly are might benefit us here." Moore says. "Although I doubt it necessary with the gelugon, we may see something within these pictures we otherwise had not yet."
