"Oh, what a charming young... wait, how are you... you know what, it probably isn't important." Moore says. "My friends and I are looking for... um... are we allowed to tell him what we're looking for?" He looks over to Afina.

"We're looking to go to the next layer, Adalir," Afina says, shaking her head. "It's no secret to anyone on Metalandir. Play a lively tune and you advance to Adalir, play a funeral dirge and you return to Mithardir. That's what I was told when last I came here."

[Anastasia]

He laughs a bit, "You're mixing up the layers. Next layer you play a tune, this one you make or find a rocking chair. Rock forward to proceed to the next layer, rock backwards to return to the desert."

Afina sighs vocally at that. To be fair, this place does explicitly mess with your memory.

"My apologies everyone, it's been a while," she says, shaking her head and fabricating a rocking chair out of some metal grass. "Keep that tune ready for the next one, Moore?" she asks, flying onto the chair and rocking forward.

"That's rather inventive... well." Moore slowly but surely flies over and offers a small... slow... slooooowly... ...there we go, bow. "Moore of Aurora. If you ever find yourself outside of this and would care to hear more music, you'd be most invited."

"Yes, Afina." Ilsenine agrees, "I'm trying to remember."

Meanwhile the eladrin turns to Moore, as Afina constructs a chair from nothing. "I rarely leave," he admits, "I serve at the Queen's pleasure. Yet I have seen the dreams of Aurora, drifting in the endless ether of sleep. Dreams of bloodshed," His gaze lingers on Afina there, "Dreams of vengeance," Then to Jaela. "Dreams of _________." He said...something. Something none of you can seem to hear and remember.

"But your music is so good..." he murmurs, pausing and biting his lip.

"It really is," Jaela agrees, waiting for Ilsenine to use the chair before sitting down upon it herself. "And if you stop by, I might actually be able to hear what you just said to me by then."

[Anastasia]

"Hearing's the first thing to go," The eladrin says, as Afina and Jaela both try to sit into the chair. Fortunately despite some bumping and hip pain, they manage to rock it forward. A portal appears ahead.

[Ebiris]

"My dreams might be less bloody now but I don't sleep as much as I used to," Afina says, rubbing her hip. "Thanks for jogging my memory, 'sonny'," she says with a bit of humour before going through the portal.

[Nephrite]

Moore smiles at the eladrin. "I don't want to twist your arm on it, but I'll make you this promise -- I'm much better at this when I'm not a prune." He manages a wink to the eladrin before he flies after the others.

[Anastasia]

Laughter as the old, withered party passes through the portal. Queen Ilsenine reaches out, using Moore to help her go through.

On the other side is plains and mountains. Viciously cold, an empty night sky lording over an impossible, chaotic mish-mash of mountains and plains. High peaks reign under the starless sky, while sunny plains prosper mere feet away.

You're only old now. This reduces the ability score penalties to -3 and your movement speed is only halved.

"Now we play the lively tune. I remember now, I made a flute out of ice for Hanna to play. She kept getting it wrong and it kept melting so I had to cast energy resistance on it," Afina reminisces, her skin no longer quite so transluscent here and the colours of her wings standing out a bit better.

[Anastasia]

Ilsenine is only middle aged now, standing straight and with clearer eyes. She blinks them repeatedly, "Moore will be far better at playing the flute than that," she declares, waving a hand.

Crystal's now only half a pile of wrinkles, patting Hope's side as he flies much more vigorously.

[Nephrite]

Brr! Moore suppresses his urge to get closer to Illsenine to keep himself warm. He shivers once and helps keep Her Majesty upright.

"All right, so here's the part where I do the song, right?" He asks, feeling a bit more youthful but... ugh, he really needs to do some exercises when he gets back to Aurora so this back thing doesn't become a real issue.

He starts to play again, calling on his luck once again to see him through.

Jaela, for her part, looks larger than she usually is. Strong, unbowed, complete in a way her usual self has yet to become. "Amusing!" she tells Afina, grinning. "How many tries did it take?"
