The door ahead leads into a small antechamber. Towels await there, along with a bowl of water, a burning torch that stands up right on its bottom and a bowl of earth. A window is open, letting in a gentle breeze. Moonlight comes through, illuminating the entire room.

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Taking her guard position once more, Afina follows Jaela while water drips off her, colourful garments soaked and plastered to her emaciated figure. And once in the new room she goes to dry herself off by the open flame.

Nephrite

Moore shivers a bit from the water as he follows after Jaela. "So it seems like each room presents two choices, one that probably just leads further into the maze and one that represents the exit. Hmm... Well, we've been over artistic talent, pragmatic skills, diplomacy, combat and kindeness... Hmm..." Moore ponders on what the other facets of this could be.

Yeah that obviously won't work but that's okay.

Moore does go over to use a towel!

Anastasia

Crystal goes to the window, letting the breeze blow against her wet armor. She closes her eyes and sighs in contentment, Hope besides her.

"Tree thinks this is funny," Tree adds, keeping well away from the torch. "But fire isn't funny, it's scary!"

Corwin

"Crystal's got the right idea for you, then," Jaela tells Tree.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Nephrite

"Well, Miss Afina, you're the prismatic expert here, but I would imagine the key here is something to do with the four primary elements we have in front of us. At least, that's my guess." Moore says with a small shrug as he folds the towel back up neatly.

Ebiris

"Fire is very misunderstood," Afina says, feeling a bit like Simmer as she says it. "When it rages out of control it can be scary, but like this?" she gestures at the torch, "It's a tool, one that brings warmth and light, things all life needs to prosper."

Anastasia

Crystal turns from the window, "I agree, this is obviously a test for Afina. Afina, what say you?"

Queen Ilsenine nods slightly, "Fire, held in safety, is the cornerstone of life. Afina, solve this puzzle."

Tree goes to the window, "This is nicer," he agrees, "It makes my branches feel good!" He waves them about, smacking Jaela harmlessly on the head and coming close to both Moore and Crystal. "Yaaay, breeze!"

No pressure, right?

"The puzzle is already solved if one merely has to look at me," she points out, not really seeing what it benefits anyone for them to be playing around with these things when she's living proof of what all four elements can achieve together.

But such achievements can't really be replicated by banging elements together so she'll have to do something different. Besides, the elemental planes don't quite reflect elemental reality, as Steam's odd placement on the wheel attests. "Tree, stand away from the window if you please?" she asks, picking up the torch and moving it over by the window. "Air feeds fire," she announces. Next she carries the water bowl over and holds it above the resurgent flames, waiting until it begins to boil. "Water is transformed by fire." And lastly she puts the bowl down before upending the torch and stabbing it into the earth-bowl, which works just as well as kicking dirt over a camp-fire. "Earth extinguishes fire."

Water can extinguish it too, but earth does it better by getting rid of the air that fire needs.

A door appears on the opposite wall when you finish.

"Well done," Ilsenine praises, "What else could it be but the cycle of the elements and how they combine, for they are all part of the natural world."

Back in formation, Afina heads through the door!

Nephrite

"I wonder if any cycle would've worked." Moore muses. "You know, water and earth to make mud, water and air to make... ice, I guess? That sort of thing."

Anastasia

The door leads to a short hallway, which connects to a small dining room. A table with 7 seat, though nothing is there to eat or drink.

"I imagine so, but we were on the subject of fire so I went with it," Afina says, looking around the dining room. "Should we prepare a meal of our own devising?"
