I have a dream that one day, men will be punched in the face not for the color of their skin, but for the awful content of their character.

"I look forward to it. In the meantime, are you interested in low cost investments? We're selling parcels of gem and gold laden soul, unsifted and unsorted. For 10 gold you can have one, see what's in there and possibly make much more than your money back," he says.

Ebony discreetly coughs. "Thank you for your help."

"Ah. You're busy, I understand. Come back any time." Dela-umas replies.

Kascha hums, "That sounds an awful like gambling with geology instead of dice." Her ioun stones whirl around her head in rather rapid loops, "Though it is much more affordable than your other offerings."

"Hmm... I'll take one as an amusing oddity and a hopeful promise of future business."
This is not the greatest post in the world, no... this is just a tribute.

"Done," You get a little box tied up with string, "Good luck!"

Post the expense in loot.

No luck - it's the sort of dirt that could have gold, but you only see a few tiny flecks in yours. You could get a few coppers for them, perhaps. Clearly luck was not on your side.

Indeed, luck did not favor you.

Surraruthru grunts, scooping the dirt back into the pouch and then into his haversack. A trinket for a lesson learned.

"Let us be on our way, then."

It's an actual galleon. A big boat sitting on the ground just on the outskirts of Brightwater, away from the streets of gold. Here tents and stalls are the order of business, a bevy of lesser businessmen. Amid all them stands a galleon - an actual beached ship, a big door built into the side with wooden stairs leading you in. Kascha stares as you approach, "Isn't that a remarkable idea? Do you think the ship was built here or he brought the ship from a real sea?" Kascha takes out a book and starts writing in it, "Surraruthru, do you think it's authentic or just a ship built to be a building?"

"I don't know much about ships. I'll guess that it was beached and converted, and then kept as such as an established novelty."

Bardic knowledge.

Ebony butts in without preamble. "A few decades ago, a story went around that a mercenary group brought a ship back as plunder from a raid on the River Styx. They routed the demon pirates and took the ship back with them, navigating it from the Styx to the mortal world, then through an obscure passage to the River Oceanus."

"Oh!" Kascha looks up from her writing, a bit of ink on her fingers, "Do you think this is it?"

"If it is, the construction of the ship might be able to lend a clue to a resistance to the Styx rain we encountered."

"Oh, I'll get right on that. You two go inside," Kascha says, heading up to the hull, "I'll just study it with magic and see if anything's evident."

"Annnd she's gone. For a few hours. We've lost her."

Surraruthru turns to Ebony.

"Shall we find this Maras? Do you have any ideas on how to bind this yogoloth? A geas or something?"

"I have a few approaches in mind, but that's borrowing trouble from tomorrow. Today's current problem is enough," Ebony says, "Shall we go in?"
