"Hmm.. I don't believe I have much hidden knowledge to offer. Maybe something about being a Grand Weaver?"

"My book should get us in, but more the better," Sylvie says, "It's all symbolic, anyway, the offering it part is what's important."

"Very well then. When would you like to go? I know Kascha would go crazy if she came with us. Additionally,"

Surraruthru takes a moment to dig around in his haversack saddlebags, producing the Sandalphon's Amazing Barrage scroll.

"I picked this scroll up from Filbrez. It's cursed to lock it shut. I haven't had a chance to take a look at it with detect magic yet, but I figure that either you, or one of the Oghmite priests would have an idea about removing the curse."

"Let me study it," Sylvie says, picking it up and sitting down. "Make yourself comfortable."

Sylvie is taking 10 on Appraise. She'll cast appraising touch first for a +10 insight bonus via limited wish. Technically the +10 only applies to identifying the value of the item and not epic skill usages, but she's mimicking a 1st level spell with limited wish so I assume it has enough oomph to work that out. Anyway, upshot is that her take 10 total is 65. She's using the discern curse and item history epic skill usages to start, followed up by detecting magic.

Note to self, have Sylvie slip that into her regular spellcasting arsenal. Better yet, make a slightly enhanced version for her needs.

After a time, Sylvie sits back and stretches. Maybe 10 minutes or so. "Oh boy, this one's a doozy," she remarks to you.

"I expected such if Filbrez wasn't able to be done with it and sell it for more. What are we looking at?"

"A serious curse is what we're looking at." Sylvie says, "Okay, the legend I got comes down to this. A long time ago a powerful wizard made a powerful spell. For some reason one of his rivals didn't like it, so they stole the copy and cursed it. For whatever reason they didn't learn it themselves, just cursed it so it can't open hurled it into the planes. The legend doesn't mention magic to shield it from divinations, but it's there."

A pause as the blonde dusts her hands off, "I'd suggest anti magic, but I suspect Filbrez would've tried that too. An excessively powerful dispel might do it."

"Well, I might be able to take care of that now.."

Surraruthru focuses and calls forth his most powerful Dispel.

There is a thunderous burst of sound as the scroll opens up, ears ringing as magic crumbles on it.

Surraruthru shakes his head at the noise.

"Well, done is done, I suppose. Shall we see what was locked away?"

Surraruthru examines the scroll!

The scroll provides the following spell:

Sandalphon's Amazing Barrage
Evocation [Force]
Level: Sor/Wiz 12
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 100ft/level
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

All enemies within range of this spell are struck by Sandalphon's unerring projectile.

A paste of the spell from the spell collection is provided.

Sandalphon's Unerring Projectile
Evocation [Force]
Level: Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100ft + 10ft/level)
Target: 1 creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell invokes a shining white ball of light. This unerring projectile flies true, always hitting and ignoring any spell resistance the target has. This deals 1d3+1 points of force damage per level, to a maximum of 1d3+30.

Interested in scribing a scroll of this to give to Aurora for copying into people's spell books. I know the formula SRD is 25 × level of spell × level of caster, which for me would be 7,500 at CL 25, but I don't know if it being an Epic Spell changes the formula.

Formula's unchanged, but it's also not needed. It's already in scroll form, unless you intend to copy it to your spellbook and then hand out scrolls of it.

Incidentally, your math is wrong. The lowest level you get 12th level spell is 27th.

> roll 25*12*27
<Kobot> Kotono rolled 25*12*27 --> {8100}

So 8100 gold would be the standard for a 12th level spell scroll. You'd also need epic crafting to make scrolls above 9th level. The simplest method would be to copy it into your spellbook, as there's nothing preventing you from adding higher level spells than you cast to your spellbook. You just can't memorize them since you lack the spell slot to do so. From there others could copy it into their own spellbooks.

I'll do that, then. Anyone who wants the spell can copy it from me.

So noted. Now that this is sorted out, any more prep to do or are you ready for a trip to the House of Knowledge?

Spells, maybe? Unless you think I won't really need to cast spells, then we can just go.
