We'll start OOC with this one. So what's your plan to sort out the politics and investigate Benfal and Elysium, Moore?

Yuth were interested in this as well, so feel free to chime in, Tryll. We'll work from there and I may potentially split you two up if there's multiple objectives to be done.

Moore would ask Morniel for advice first and foremost. He'd also do research on... what was it, Thalasia, since it seems like this sort of thing may have happened before.

Do we have any contacts within Elysium we're on good terms with? Upper-echelon diplomats or anything of that nature? To coincide with this, Moore also has the rapier (Shalm, forged in Elysiym) that he'd use to probably get in someone's good graces as he'd want to return it to them.

Anastasia

Okay.

Yuth, feel free to jump in whenever, I'll get Moore rolling for the moment.

Elysium is peace, love and warmth. You savor it as you walk outside of Aurora, Liber rejuvenated and restored before you. You know the people of Benfal are there, though that is not your destination. Instead it is the riverbank nearby. Morniel sits on a large rock there, watching the waters flow. He is wearing white linens trimmed with gold.

"Do you think these waters flow into the headwaters of the River Oceanus now?" Morniel asks as you approach. "The theological and planar implications are considerable."

Benfal is likely in a state of political chaos. They've been enslaved by Baator for (uh I don't actually remember how long?) and who knows what state the local government/kingdom/lord structure is like. We're gonna need to find people who either know how to lead or used to be in charge. While the plane got sorta-not-really absorbed into Elysium, it appears the assimilation wasn't total? Like if feels like Elysium, but it's not quite? That's the vibe I'm getting anyway.
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Moore can't help but smile and shrug a bit at the question. "I'd have to get a view from much further out than I think I'm capable in order to answer that. I think, suffice it to say, the water probably has some of those properties in it now... and that is part of why I'm here." Moore says.

He clears his throat. "This wasn't supposed to happen- ah, not to say that I think this is necessarily a bad thing, but I don't think this is the result anyone really wanted. I think it's necessary to find out why this happened..." He takes a breath. "And not take 'you don't need to know that,' as nicely as someone might mean it, as an answer."

Anastasia

Okay then. That's a good thing to say and to bring up here, then, so by all means do so IC here.

"I know little of this, and what I do know suggests that we have seen what can only be called a miracle." Morniel says to Moore, "We need to speak to a deity who is on our side, one who may willing to do that."

"I would think that Lord Erathaol would be willing to share knowledge in this particular situation. We do not ask for it out of malice or for any other reason other than to better understand." Moore says. "Of course, if the wisdom of the Mountain suggests otherwise, I would of course defer to it if my attempt at visiting Xiranthador was politely declined."

Anastasia

"Yes. There are things mortals are not meant to know," Morniel says, "What say you, Tryll?"

"I do think we get a bit of leeway on this one. ...Besides, we're not really mortals, you know?" Moore says with a smile.

Yuthirin

'Speaking of mortals, we also need to look into the political state of Benfal. The citizens of the plane have been through a great deal, and their governments are likely in chaos. Assisting them in settling into their new lives would not be an unwise thing. While their plane is now somewhat attached to Elysium, the people here are not used to it. They have gone from peaceful to I'm not sure how many years of infernal oppression. That takes a toll on the mortal soul. While Elysium may repair some of the damage in time, we would not be remiss in assisting where we can. We are not so callous as to save the day and then move on to let the average citizen deal with the fallout.'

Tryll's form is not necessarily visible, but Calleigh is making up for it by attempting to hurl a stone nearly as tall as she is into the river. In spite of her lack of success, she appears gleeful.

'We need to seek out local leadership and see if anything has survived the occupation. While it is now more likely that gods may be able to stomp around here now that the plane is connected to Elysium, I don't see any of them marching in right now to set up shop and keep things calm. Just because it's Elysium, doesn't mean there aren't problems.'

Nephrite

"Does Sylica want us possibly infringing on their affairs? I don't know what Alicia and Seira's connection to this place was or is currently... even so, you're right. We can't forget the normal citizens amidst all of this."

Anastasia

"I can answer some of that," Morniel says, "Servants of Sylica are in Liber to help. The old government is defunct, it did not survive Hell's occupation. Your thoughts are the same as Sylica's there. By all means, go and see," he gestures towards Liber.

'Sylica is involving itself in the day-to-day operations of the minor governments? ' Tryll's mental voice is surprised.

A splash from the river indicates that...Calleigh has upended herself into the water. "Awp!" Another splash. "I'm okay!"
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Nephrite

"It may be due to the... unexpected events with the plane itself." Moore says. "Tryll, do you want to investigate the citizenry while I see if I can get any answers on the actual 'what the heck happened' part of things?"

Anastasia

"I agree," Morniel murmurs, "To all of that. Unexpected and yet logical when you think it through."
