Anastasia

Listen check, Calleigh.

Sylvie turns and looks at you, "Where's what?"

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Yuthirin

"I hear a voice asking for help!"

Anastasia

It's coming from a bookshelf - mostly full but with a few gaps. You're pretty sure that's where it's coming from, anyway.

"It's a book! Maybe!?" Calleigh begins pulling books from the shelf, tossing books onto the floor.

You remove the books - and it's not any of them. But as you do, you can hear it, coming from an empty space of the shelf.

"...help...almost...gone..." The voice is growing quieter by the moment, farther away.

Calleigh looks at the empty space on the shelf shelf!

Meanwhile, Tryll manifests True Seeing.

Anastasia

Tryll can see the faintest outline of a book there, growing dimmer by the second.

You grab the book. You feel a little faint as it becomes more solid, a cry of relief.

Calleigh takes 20 damage.

It's a plain enough book, brown covered and worn. A voice comes from it. "Thank you, I was almost gone. Can you hear me now?"

Calleigh shivers, "Ugh, weird! Hi! You're a book!" Meanwhile, books begin to rise from the floor and slot themselves back into the shelves as Tryll cleans up with telekinesis.

Vel comes over as Sylvie stays back and watches, "That'll be a thousand gold for that book," he says gruffly, then marches off.

Meanwhile, the book says, "Please understand, I'm trapped in this book. A vampire defeated me and bound my soul into one his spellbooks."

A bulging pouch of gold struggles itself out of Calleigh's bag and floats over to Vel.

"How do we get you out!? And who are you?!" Calleigh shakes the book. She turns to Sylvie with wide, adorable eyes, "Vampires are stuffing souls into books now!?"

"I wouldn't put it past them," Sylvie says coolly, as meanwhile Vel takes the gold and begins to count it.

"My name is Patar," The voice says, "I don't know. I was a warrior, not a wizard."

"Well how do we get you out of the book then?"
