You spend hours at it. Hours and hours. The only respite is Kascha bringing you a meal and sitting by you. You're making progess and think it's viable, but it's right on the edge of your ability or maybe a bit past it.

"How is it going?" Kascha asks.

"Not quickly. I'm almost certain I can attach my Tapestry to the War Room, but I can't quite figure the trick to it... See, the Tapestry hooks onto the souls and energy of others... I wonder if the War Room doesn't have enough... presence, for it to really latch on... I may just be grasping at straws, though."

[Anastasia]

"Would you like me to help?" Kascha says, "Maybe I can find something you're missing."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Please. This is nearly the last thing before I start the ritual. The faster I can move to the next, the better."

It's just enough. It takes over a day of frantic work, but you think it ca be theoretically done. Just.

Actually doing it will take a lot of work and probably several tries, not to mention you have no idea how it would work with it.

"Excellent! Thank you Kascha! Now that we've figured out the theory, only experimentation is left... Though I think I'll wait for that until after the ritual. If the ritual goes well, my magic will be strengthened, and it may make things go easier. The only thing I have left is a last little bit of research on Spellhoarding. Specifically, the improved abilities of Spellhoarding dragons to counterspell..."

Since it seems like it'd be best to keep Sorc casting for the dragon, I'd like to try and just learn the Spellcatching part, if possible.

Theoretically possible but difficult. It takes the sheer, bloody mindedness of the psychosis to pull off. It would make the ritual more difficult and not be assured of working out for you.

Showing her his research on Spellcatching, he asks her, "Can you think of anything that would make success more likely? Another element I could include, or a spell to add to the ritual?"

"Hmm..." Kascha goes over all over it, "I think it's good, though spellcatching will be a risk. If it fails, it might ruin the ritual or you may end up with that psychosis. Worse, it might be tied to the ritual itself, so it may be a permanent change to you. However, if it works, it would be undeniably powerful."
