"I mean no offense and I would be surprised if you could best him." Moore says, simply.

Anastasia

A deep growl in the valkyrie's throat and then she rushes Adrian, dead on!

Init here. I presume you aren't participating and thus have no need to roll. True/false?
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

That is correct. If more than just her join in then I'll line about it and go from there.

Anastasia

I'll go round by round and give you a chance to react.

<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 17 > [d20=4]

<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 27 > [d20=19]

The valkyrie is fast, charging Adrian head long. Her blade glints with light from the sun above, as a bitter wind blows against all of you. Your lungs feel like they're constantly freezing, only your enchantments helping you against the cold.

> roll 1d20+27 +2 charge
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 35 > [d20=8]

Gaelach is a blur, blocking the valkyrie's blade in a split second. "Not bad," Adrian allows, "Just not good enough."

<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 75 > [d6=2,5]
> OOC: -8 Strength damage, for what it matters.

For a moment, the two are entwined. Gaelach and the valkyrie's sword meet, tips pointing up at the sky. They're in close, almost face to face, until Adrian steps back and gives the valkyrie an elbow to the face. She stumbles back, in perfect position for Gaelach to cut her in half from head to groin. The pieces fall apart, Adrian lowering his blade after that.

There's a few moments of silence as the other duels come to an abrupt halt.

"Battle sisters!" Rekka's voice echos as she strides out, "We face worthy opponents in our very home! Shall we allow this to pass?"

"NO!" The valkyries cry as one.

Rekka marches to in front of all of you, pointing her sword right at the trio. "It wouldn't be fair you to face us one against all, mortal. I challenge the three of you on behalf of all of us. Show us your courage and your battle lust!"

"I would be remiss to not accept such a challenge, given where we are." Moore says with a smile.

Anastasia

"Then I must," Morniel concurs, "Let me show you the strength of one of the throne and tome."

At this the valkyries draw blades and arrows, many charging you as others shoot arrows at you, as flame and blades of magic erupt all around you.

"Finally, something that might be a challenge!" Moore says as he claps his hands together.

With that, he activates his time-manipulating boots!

2 Rounds of temporal acceleration. It's the same as time stop, just I am shaken at the end.

Round 1 Actions: Cast Inspirational Boost (swift), Harmonize (standard), greater mirror image (immediate)
Round 2 Actions: Cast Snowsong (standard) and... that's actually all he can do, but that's fine.

Without warning, a snowstorm suddenly manifests itself in the halls. The howling winds barely scuff at the three together, in fact, the magic seems to bolster them with the fortitude of winter.

+4 morale bonus to Charisma and attack rolls, and a +4 insight bonus to Armor Class. In addition, the snow imparts fast healing 1 and resistance to cold 15 to all affected allies. All melee attacks made by allies in the snowsong deal an additional 1d6 points of cold damage.

Moore claps his hands together again. "Now, let's have some fun!" Moore shouts, as his words solidify the very essence of courage and valor. He taps his belt lightly, as if to help bring out some sort of rhythm...

[21:59] <Nephrite> roll 3d4 nonlethal
[21:59] <Serith> Nephrite roll for Serith < 10 > [d4=4,2,4]

Inspire Courage, with +3 bonus from Inspirational Boost and his Regalia, so this gives all of them +17 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +17 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

"Ah, but wait, there's more!" He says with a beaming smile, pulling even further magical essence to bolster them.

[22:04] <Nephrite> roll 18d4 nonlethal
[22:04] <Serith> Nephrite roll for Serith < 31 > [d4=2,1,1,2,1,1,2,2,4,2,1,3,1,1,1,3,1,2]

Inspire Heroics, they all get +12 Morale bonus to saves and +12 dodge to AC. He can use both musics because of Harmonize, which lets him use bardic music as a move action, so he isn't moving.

Minor Edit, the Saving throw for Snowsong for them is 28 Will.

Greater MI would likely go somewhere in between round 1 and 2 due to the way immediates work, but it hardly matters here.

Your bardic music fills the battlefield, bestowing courage and energy to all three of you. It overwhelms the noise of the valkyrie charge, for a moment the only sound is Moore's voice. Then it breaks, war returning with a vengeance, and yet the other two seem alight with magic and power.

Morniel holds for one moment, he'll let Adrian go since he's the damage source here. He may do mop up right after as needed.

Adrian inclines his head to Rekka, before returning the favor and charging headlong at her, meeting her midway.

> roll 1d20+43 (+2 charge, +17 bardic shenanigans, -24 PA)
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 59 > [d20=16]
> roll 2d6+86+8d6 plus 2 Strength and a fort save vs staggering strike

> roll 1d20+20
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 37 > [d20=17]

Rekka is staggered.

The two meet amid a storm of arrows and fire, Adrian interrupting a sword swipe by shoulder-checking her. It knocks Rekka back, just in time for Adrian to kick her in the stomach. She's knocked back even further as he braces and swings his sword. The whistle of the wind joins your voice and the din of war as Rekka's gut is sliced open, armor cleaved through and middle turning red rapidly.

Meanwhile, Morniel turns and nods to Moore, standing guard in front of you. "Let any who come for him pass me first!" he declares.

Rekka staggers from the blow, "Hah....hah...." she coughs, eschewing further words for a quick swing at Adrian.

> roll 1d20+38 vs 55
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 43 > [d20=5]

Adrian brings his arm up as fast as she swings the blade - fast enough to be hard to follow, deflecting it away with a near-perfect movement of his arm.

Rekka says something to that, but you lose track of it as arrows come in from everywhere and every direction.

> roll 1d20+30 arrows vs Adrian
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 41 > [d20=11]

<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 35 > [d20=5]
> roll 1d20+30 arrows vs Moore
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 49 > [d20=19]

Adrian uses Rekka to his advantage, grabbing the staggered swordswoman by the arm and throwing her to the side. Arrows meant for him bounce off her armor instead. At the same time Morniel closes his eyes, blade moving of its own accord. Arrow after arrow is deflected, as meanwhile you use your side and speed to nimbly dodge them all. Up and down, around and back, weaving through them all.

A moment later, fire and blades consume all of you, blade barriers and flame strikes slamming into the battlefield.

> roll 1d20+21 SR check
<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 24 > [d20=3]

Adrian and Morniel resist the spells. Moore, make a Reflex save or note if you have SR that this roll fails to beat.

Yet the magic washes over you to no avail. You are not harmed, only a moment before valkyries mob all of you.

"To battle!" The battlecry comes from many of them, as...

Adrian takes a wound on the side, a graze of blade against flesh that begins to bleed. He withstands it well, not even stumbling or buckling from it.

Morniel is parrying all around, moving fast as he can, nearly half a dozen valkyries swinging for him at once in the chaos of combat.

Moore...simply isn't there. He moves and dodges, flying up as needed. He sings all the while, surrounded by his snowsong.

Go Moore.

"What is this? A jest?" Moore says as he spins around and gives a graceful bow to dodge a spear strike in his general direction. "You have such fervor, but you waste it all on strikes that could nary hit a barn door!"

He lifts his voice again, perhaps to bring this fight to a close? He weaves the power of destiny around his allies, allowing for them to strike decisive and final blows!

Morniel and Adrian get +3 more on attack and damage rolls, the Improved Crit Feat, and +12 to any crit confirmation.

"NOW, STRIKE!" He shouts, voice reverberating through the many layers of music still lingering in the air.

Rally Attack, Morniel and Adrian get to make a free single melee attack. :)

Adrian obeys. He shifts to the side, left hand holding Gaelach while his right comes out in a brutal backhand at the valkyrie that wounded him. There's a snap of bone as her neck turns in the wrong direction, followed by her crumpling to the ground.

Morniel meanwhile parries and thrusts out at the valkyrie in front of him. It's a direct hit into her shoulder, the valkyrie groaning in pain as Morniel rips the blade out. She's still up, however, shoulder ruined and bleeding all down her arm and side.

"Finish this," Adrian calls, "No mercy!" Gaelach is swung again and again, as Adrian plants down, surrounded in all directions.

Init is now Moore (41) > Morniel (33) > Adrian (32) > Valkyries (11)

A sweep of Gaelach is naught but a silvery gleam, followed by sprays of blood from all the valkyries around him. They fall, Rekka stumbling as her chest is carved open like her stomach. "Damn your strength..." she manages, before joining her comrades on the ground. Adrian is bloodstained all over from the vakyries, as meanwhile Morniel grimly says, "This will not end until they all meet death's brief embrace. Such is the diplomacy of Ysgard."

<Serith> Kotono roll for Serith < 61 > [d6=6,4,5,4]

Morniel is no less deadly. A valkyrie falls, left arm severed at the shoulder. She screams and cries, grasping at the stump as she falls, bleeding out. Another looks down as Morniel impales her through her heart, then rips the blade out. She falls, all while fumbling at where her heart should be. A third is simply decapitated, numbers around you waning fast.

"Yes, to glorious battle!" One of the valkyries calls. You honestly can't tell which, as you dodge yet another arrow. "Victory or death!" Then the arrows stop, the remainder attacking or summoning power from afar choosing to charge you instead.

Admittedly not tactically sound, but remove anything but a mild inconvenience from dying and mix in the culture that ensues means you get situations where ego and oneupsmanship is more important than sound tactics.

Which comes to naught at all. Parries and dodges, Adrian and Morniel blocking like before as you dodge. Already the battlefield is littered with the dead, more sure to come soon.

Go.

He would be chastised by the deities of Ysgard if he didn't at least take one down, wouldn't he? He strums on his harp once to aid his allies in finishing this. He then opens his mouth, as an ear-splitting shout comes flying out and to the valkyries who so kindly grouped up to attack them!
