"I am, but I have multiple projects. I can shelf this for a day. Or spend the day refining it. I still have to start the research into the Infinity Oozes. There's still the Pyrohydras, as well."

Speaking of the Hydras, since it seems like I'm going to be doing a lot of teaching, are you okay with me shifting some skill points around into Profession: Teacher or something?

"Your choice," Sylvie says, sitting back a bit. "Time's getting tight, so choose."

"Infinity Ooze, then the hydras at the end of the day. I'll head to get the Crystal tomorrow if you're free to take me Sylvie, and then set up the ritual for the scales and tree tomorrow."

Normally I would be, but this is really short notice for skill retraining due to ongoing time pressure. However, you've set this up so I'll consider it. How many points would you want to move?

15 total, probably. I'm not sure how 15 in Teaching would stack against 39 in Diplomacy, though.

Cool. Do so. After that, where were you on the ooze?

[Iron Dragoon]

Nowhere. Hadn't started yet. Plan was to try to isolate the mechanism that allows them to copy perfectly and try to simulate or transplant it into another creature. This is some Isle of Dr. Merau stuff I think, and I'd like to do it as humanely as possible, but I'm also not sure exactly where to start. Something with magically observing the splitting on the magical and biological level?

You make a little more progress. It's incredibly complex and difficult, more as you get deeper and deeper into studying it. The hours pass by with you  making headway, but no concrete benefits yet.

Surraruthru continues to put his nose to the grinder, so to speak, and work at it. Study and experimentation are the bread and butter of Wizards.
