Alright, let's run with it then.

Things to improve Metapsionics:
1. Multiple Metapsionic feats at once
2. Improving the effect of Metapsionics
3. Adding additional effects to Metapsionics
4. Reduce the cost of Metapsionics
5. Create new Metapsionics

The epic feat Improved Psionic Focus already allows the application of multiple Metapsionic feats to a power with the expense of a single psionic focus.

The epic feat Improved Metapsionics reduces the cost of applying Metapsionics by 2 points per selection of the feat.

If we don't want to imitate feats (because that sounds like a waste), we have:

1. Improving the effect of Metapsionics
2. Adding additional effects to Metapsionics
3. Create new Metapsionics

Creating new Metapsionics would fall again into the feat range of business. Additional Metapsionics are best served on that range.

1. Improving the effect of Metapsionics
2. Adding additional effects to Metapsionics

Metapsionics can be improved directly by boosting modifiers or adding additional effects.

Improving existing effects is easy. Some can't be improved, like Maximize Power. It does exactly what it says and maximizes the damage of a given power. However, feats like Empower, Twin, Chain, Enlarge, Extend, etc. can have their effects strengthened. Empower going up to 1.75x or 2x instead of 1.5x Twin creating a third  manifestation, Enlarge tripling the effective range of a power instead of doubling it.

Adding additional effects to powers is a bit more challenging. Enlarge could also expand the area of effect, but Widen already does that. Alternatively, Empower could add an elemental or damage type to a power in order to defeat damage reduction or resistances. Opportunity could be used as an immediate action instead of activating only on an attack of opportunity.

On a completely different tack, the paragon ability could give access to a cloud of Metapsionic feat uses, a certain number of times per day. This would be a list of all powers, ignoring the current list Tryll's of known feats. For example, he could use Widen Power X times per day, even though he doesn't have the requisite feat.

Also: <Nephrite> Hey, for an idea for your power thing, maybe 3/day +3 CL (or psionic level or whatever is appropriate) augment to his powers?

Thoughts?
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Anastasia

Talked to Yuth about this last night, expecting resolution today.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Yuthirin

Just kidding!

Alright, so you said to go with straight and to the point.

So we'll go with something that just popped into my head. Additional/augmented metapsionic abilities when using metapsionics is a great idea. It adds additional utility.

1. The power is also Widened.
2. The power assumes an elemental type of your choosing. This is in addition to any elemental type already applied. If the power grants additional modifiers based on elemental type chosen, both are used.
3. The power is Enlarged.
4. The power strikes the original target a second time for half of its full effect.
5. After manifesting the power, the manifester gains 50% concealment until their next round.
6. The power strikes unerringly, ignoring both cover and any agility-based bonuses to AC or Reflex saves.
7. 2x the effect of any one metapsionic feat applied to a power.

Some of these are very small, and some are very strong. Now, if you're cool with all of that, stop me right here and we're done.

However, if you feel like it needs more attention:

It's WHEEL! OF! FATE FORTUNE! Specifically, this.

When using this power, roll a d100. Use the effect listed.

1: Bummer. Roll on the TABLE OF SADNESS.
2-10: The power gains +10 to defeat spell resistance.
10-20: The power is also Widened.
21-30: The power assumes an elemental type of your choosing. This is in addition to any elemental type already applied. If the power grants additional modifiers based on elemental type chosen, both are used.
31-40: The power is Enlarged.
41-50: The power strikes the original target a second time for half of its full effect.
51-60: After manifesting the power, the manifester gains 50% concealment until their next round.
61-70: The power strikes unerringly, ignoring both cover and any agility-based bonuses to AC or Reflex saves.
71-80: 1.5x the effect of any one metapsionic feat applied to a power.
81-90: 2x the effect of any one metapsionic feat applied to a power.
91-95: Roll again!
96-99: Roll twice again! Choose both effects!
100: JACKPOT! 3x the effect of ALL metapsionic feats applied to a power.

The Table of Sadness is pulled from an old 2nd ed WotC Wild Surge list found here. It was then edited heavily. Unless specifically stated in the Table, the original power still manifests. Effects that alter mental state are ignored if the target is immune to mind-affecting.

We'll try the random table and I'll nerf as needed.

Groovy. I'll add it to the sheet. Anything else in here or can I go shopping?
