'Yes,' Vul'lath says. '...also, evil creatures can see in utterdark without impairment.'

That's a good point, it doesn't change things on the 'devils can see in the dark' front, but it offers them their own new options.

She tries to cast a summoning spell to call forth some demons!

Summoning inside of Aurora? Remember how you'd go outside of Aurora to summon devils?

That was for calling effects, I thought summoning ones worked. I can cast the spell to to have the summon appear just outside the gate if I have to though. Swap the glabrezu for 1d4+1 vrocks in that case since we're airborne.

[Anastasia]

One of the vrocks hisses and chitters in the darkness, beak clacking, "The dead rise. Spirits emerge. They hunger for the living."

"Tell me their distance and bearing from both Aurora and the army positioned around the castle that way," Afina asks, pointing at the Throne's location.

'All units be advised, undead and spectres have taken the field under cover of darkness,' she telepathically warns everyone.

[Anastasia]

"They rise everywhere, from the ground, surrounding the castle," One vrock intones, voice like a dying gasp and yet echos in your ears a second time. The smell of jungle rot clings to them.

[Ebiris]

'They're surrounding the Throne on all fronts, advise retreating inside and making use of choke points,' she follows up her telepathic advice to those on the field. 'Summoned fiends can be used as spotters.'

"Have they made contact yet? How far until they do otherwise?"

[Anastasia]

"Not yet. Soon."

[Ebiris]

She needs to get to the origin point of that spell if she's to have a chance of dispelling it. 'Vul'lath, can you give me a distance and bearing from Aurora's gate to the centre of the darkness field?' She can navigate fine without her eyes going out there at least, though it would have to be just her really.

[Anastasia]

'In the sky above and ahead, about 2000ft,' Vul'lath says, 'Roughly.'

"Two thousand feet that way," Afina points for the vrocks. "Do you see any creatures around that area?"

[Nephrite]

'I've managed to trick the spell for right now -- we have thousands of undead creatures out here bearing down on the soldiers. I would suggest we have them pull back to Aurora for now.' Moore sends to everyone.
