Reinforcements would help - they should be able to hold, but it'll be a much harder battle and not a sure thing. Additionally, if more devils join in, it could be bad. On the other hand, if more devils teleport in, they could easily flank your forces.

"Send enough reinforcements to push them back," Jaela responds to Vul'lath with a nod, after a second glance at the tactical situation on the map. "And have Drena and Westwind deploy their detachments in a patrol as well. They're to keep their distance of this messy melee while ensuring our forces won't be outflanked by teleporting devils."

"Please," Crystal says, "Her Majesty awaits you."

"Understood. That will be about 10% of our strength, leaving us with 80%," Vul'lath confirms, "Though we could peel soldiers off if you want to use less."

"If we skimp on our offense, more of our soldiers out there might die that would otherwise live to fight for Lifasa," Jaela reasons. "We're not throwing our people's lives away."

Besides, the true reserve is the officer core, and Jaela has faith in them all.

Meanwhile a cry goes up, "To the air, to the air!" Prince Westwind calls, taking to the skies and leading air elementals and djinn to the battle, "Counter the charge!" He tips his scythe to Afina as he passes, followed by the air itself, going to wage war against Hell.
