"Why did all of you attack my castle? We have no enmity." Palave asks, still in that other voice.

"You bungled against the Lord of the Storm," Chan speaks, normal voice more forceful now, strong, Queen-like. "Suffer your setbacks for it with grace, it's your own fault."

Palave inclines his head forward, expression tightening. "Is this a formal declaration of hostilities then, Seira Aryn?"

Seira reverts to her regular self, facing Palave proudly. "Chan is my friend," she says. "One of my first friends across the planes, in fact, and a good and loyal friend at that. And I'm not just saying that because she's cute and listening to us," she adds with a grin. "You two are fighting, she asked for a favor and I'm taking down this castle and Palave, here, to pass on to her. You could offer Chan concessions for his safe repatriation, as I'm sure happened before in such cases, and things will stop here."

Her smile grows challenging, then. "We are, technically speaking, on opposite ends, divided by ideology. But if you decide to take this farther and escalate... if you make it personal, Yan-C-Bin, I suspect it will end in regret. I am, however, ever a champion of freedom of choice."

Palave...smiles.

It's not a kind smile, a hard face and a hard smile indeed.

"Good. I would like to negotiate. You have this castle, Seira Aryn. What do you and Alicia Reynes want? What do you want, Chan?" After a moment, "For what I want? I want an agreement to cooperate in case of another Sharran attack. Shar's power waxes, and Akadi is mercurial. It is in all of our interests to cooperate on this point."

"On behalf of the Cauldron, I agree to a truce in all matters relating to Shar, and am open to a mutual defense pact against her machinations," Seira responds. "I don't speak for Sylica or Brightwater, but if things go favorably here I'm reasonably confident in bringing a few more along into this agreement."

She lets Chan speak, then, as what her friend wants out of this is the most important bit. Once that has been settled, Seira can inquire about random curios, such as the massive ravens.

"I want Raven's Nest. One less strong hold for you, as was my intent." Chan says, implacable.

Palave bows his head a moment, "I agree," he concurs, "Do with it what you will."

"I don't particularly want anything beyond Chan's happiness, but...." Seira trails off, humming to herself. "How about the method for creating and raising those ravens? I know the general terms. Positive energy, wasn't it? That might make them well-suited to oppose Shar's minions."

"Agreeable." A silent bolt of thunder strikes before you out of the blue, and in its wake is a leather bound book, the cover engraved with golden letters in Auran that reads 'Life-beasts and growing them.'

"Understand it is not a easy process, even with magic helping. It takes time," Palave intones.

"Of course," Seira agrees, beckoning the book into her arms with a light application of her will upon reality. "In that case, I believe we have our accord. I will be sure to contact you in a few days after exploring my contacts in Brightwater."

Another application of her will has Seira send a following telepathic message to Alicia. 'Victory is sweet. Reached an accord with Chan and Yan-C-Bin. Need my help?'

Palave vanishes once that is said. Chan laughs, the darkness around the castle fading in an instant. Light comes, fresh and clean air blowing.

Amaryl smiles, "We won," she exhales, grimacing after. "Can you heal me, Seira?"

Seira does so happily! "We need to figure out a better way of doing this," she notes. "Maybe once you ascend properly, you could specialize in healing?"

Taking Amaryl's hand, she uses her ridiculous vision range to zero in on a corpse of behemoth raven and teleports the pair of them over to it before plane shifting them and their cargo to the Cauldron.

She also replies to Seira! 'Fine for now, but if you know anything about giant death-clouds that spew thousands of shadows and how to best destroy them I'd appreciate your insight.'

Anastasia

Go ahead and make your knowledge check real quick, Seira.

You recall rumors, legends. Stories of living clouds of darkness that spew apocalyptic amounts of shadows. The murmurings of madmen and the delusional, for such things are surely impossible. Yet here is one such thing that fits it, a living cloud of death that will see everything around it slain and returned to nothing.

You also recall an ancient story, that spoke of a solar fighting one. It says that he went within the cloud to oppose it after he could not stop it from the outside, and slew it from within but was never seen again.

'Only known case was of a solar heading inside the cloud to slay it from within,' Seira sends to Alicia, grimacing. 'Seems like he died, but I think we could handle it.'
