It's room after room and hall after hall. Each is well kept and with obvious choke points, defensive lines and other such things. Jarem doesn't comment on them, instead walking up to the second floor. As you pass by more books, "You there! You three!" A strong, feminine voice calls from behind the party. "Hold, hold, in the Name of the Lady of Strategy!"

Alyssa raises an eyebrow and turns.

A woman in red plate armor, blonde hair cut raggedly short, advances. She wears a long, golden chain with it with a medallion, the horse-knight of the Red Knight's holy symbol engraved within.

"Jarem Aruwood," she says, "You've proven you deserve to be here, but these two have not." Her voice is sharp, strident.

"Yeah, see, this is Jyssi Warmack," Jarem says, keeping his expression calm, "One of the librarians here. Pretty sure she's about to put you through the wringer, Queen, so make sure your mind's on. You too, Princess."

So I said normal prep spells, but lack of internet prevents me from posting it, but Bibliotheca was part of it.

"Oh? And what does this consist of?"

Emily stiffens up and faces her, her lips becoming a tight line.

"A test of your insight and mind," Jyssi declares. "A test of your ability to think."

Alyssa's other eyebrow joins the first.

"Oh? And what will the subjects be? How were they chosen? What criteria determines the applicability of the subjects? How does specialized knowledge come into play? What if a person is a pacifist and has no knowledge of battle tactics, but extreme insight on healing and medicines?"

Jarem steps back, leaning against a shelf with a grin.

"I will choose them, as is MY duty!" She points at you, "Then let us begin. Name five herbs that can prevent infection in wounds!"

K:N and heal, I assume?

"How did you decide this was an applicable question? If I were trained in purely magical healing, then those effects could be simulated with spells, making knowledge of the herbs useless to me. Assuming you argue that magic can be blocked, I can argue that herbs aren't always available either."

[Anastasia]

"That is none of your concern," Jyssi retorts right away, "Can you answer the question, or are you too stupid?"

You can think of a few dozen. Sage's root, madalas, crone's weed, Elysian mint, balacrodos, llarin, absam grass...there's more you can think of, if you care to try at all.

Not to be a pain, but I do want to list them all. Just to tweek her nose.

Alyssa locks eyes with the librarian, "You will be polite, at the very least. The Red Queen's followers are all soldiers so roughness is to be expected, but unwarranted rudeness debases the reputation of your Order and her name as your patron. I enjoy her company more than enough to not allow it in my presence.

Alyssa continues firing off every herb that comes to mind that can fill the role, purposely keeping her ice cold look locked on the librarian, keeping her listing going at a pace, hoping to roll over anything she might retort with.
