A mortal devil servant who lead and created a towering tyranny that conquered multiple continents on his Prime, he was rewarded by being taken into Asmodeus' service and made into an unique devil. He has not been seen in eons, thought to be in unholy service to the Lord of the Ninth.

You recall an additional bit of obscure lore. Ebrek had dealings with the efreet in his mortal life as well. He traded unwanted prisoners and dissidents to the efreet as slaves, and in return gained a great deal of money to further finance his wars.

Free stand epic skill usage, can't fail it so no roll. He stands up (or floats/flies up as the case is) as a free action rather than a move action. He still provokes, though.

The blow smacks Kaja back hard, making him wobble in the air, yet he stays up on his foot and his wings hold him up. Ragged as he is, he swings away.

I'm calling this a -4 circumstance penalty to attack rolls. Seems reasonable as he's pretty messed up and his balance is shot, and dervish dance isn't on the table. He's up but he's managing it roughly thanks to being short a leg.

So Gem 4 is a crit after all.


Kaja  manages to float there almost drunkenly, slashing again and again. An arm is torn, stomach ripped. The efreet stumbles back, letting Kaja lunge and slash across his throat and chest, tearing them open - a flash of light.

Healing. A fortunate fate. You KNOW that spell, having cast something like it many times. But the light is stronger now, a pulse around him that...

It's too much. On a bad, single leg and like that, a blast of pure force sends Kaja away, interrupting the rest of his attack. He ends up a good 30ft away, slamming against the wall as you see the efreet is bleeding badly, blood pooling down as he stands, grimacing, artifact armor bloodstained all over.

On his turn, Moore's going to use his Hindsight SLA to see exactly what happened, because that should fall in line with the spell's description of notable battles and things like that.

Bit of an edge case here. How do time stop and hindsight interact? Time stop gives you vast speed, which doesn't really counter hindsight, but if they're moving that fast, does looking back help at all? You'd still see nothing because of the speed.

Got any sort of argument for it, Neph? Honestly curious, since it's an edge case that just smacked me out of nowhere and I'm chewing it over.

So, the spell description (or fluff, whatever) says this: "You watch as the phantom images play out their parts in quick succession, showing you the knowledge of the past you seek."

So to me it sounds like the spell is already... kind of fast? If that makes sense? To add to that:

"Days: You sense the events of the past, stretching back one day per caster level. You gain detailed knowledge of the people, conversations, and events that transpired."

Since it says 'sense,' I think it's fair to say that whatever happened you can understand, even if it was, technically, really sped up. Because the spell is just giving you information about what transpired? It almost sounds like it takes the information and almost gives you a digest, which includes all the detailed knowledge of everything.

That's how I read it, but I totally get where you're coming from too. It just feels like it's almost designed like it's already going fast-forward and you get a summary of it anyway.
