Okay! I'd like to try and figure out what in the blazes is going on with the woman, would that be K:A? Or maybe even K:L if this a local specialty?

Anastasia

<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Take 10 for 97 on K:R!

Anastasia

The woman is likely a follower of Belial. She is a mutilator, a warrior focused on deforming her own body and inflicting horrific wounds on those she battles. They specialize in maiming wounds like limb loss, eye shots and other horrid things. What's worse, the wounds an expert one inflicts are vile, making them all the harder to reverse. They are monstrous things that revel in sadism and masochism.

Moore frowns. No rescuing her, then.

He makes a gesture -- may as well make this easier on everyone!

Does Reaving dispel dispel all magic if used as an area dispel, or just one?

Anastasia

Just one as normal as it notes - it doesn't change that function of dispel magic, nor does it reave in that instance.

Then why in the world would you ever do that?!

Okay, Magic Disjunction then. Fuck all these assholes!!!

Anastasia

Make a caster level check.

A shudder. The efreet raises his fist up, armor glowing brighter. Your spell shudders in the air, ripping apart into burning blue, silver and purple spellfire. It flows into the efreet's full plate armor, writhing around it like electricity.

The efreet's laughter echos all around you as he holds position, the worm surging up the stairs, flowing through stone like a fish through water.

"The Grand Sultan's judgment is on you! None can stand before his will!"

Well, that happened. Anything else this turn on them?

Can I identify what just happened in some way? Spellcraft of 74.

Anastasia

Toss in an K:A check too.

The armor is breaking the spell down into pure magic and absorbing it.

This triggers a memory - The Armor of Saint Daldelus, said to have the ability to eat magic and unleash it in a devastating blast of raw power. The saint in question followed Eldath, using the armor to stop magical violence cold and channel it away in impressive blasts (but not targeted at anyone) to stop fights. A mortal who made good eons and eons ago, his armor was lost and has drifted through the planes since then.

It's said to be an artifact, forged from Eldath's tears at the violence that so riddles Creation and tempered with the compassion of Mystra for Eldath's suffering.

"Magic's probably not going to work around that one, so be careful!" He calls out to his allies. "It can also be used to unleash the magic it absorbs at us, so watch out!"

Thankfully, they have more than just magic on their side.

"I'll try and think of some way to disable it!"

Would he surmise that pretty much any magic that is used would get negated, even something like antimagic ray or antimagic zone?
