"Forty percent," Palum counters, "Along with your exact ethical code and proposed duties in writing before I sign any sort of contract or a verbal contract takes hold."

[Corwin]

"I'm willing to go up to forty percent after a monthly trial period," Seira muses. "You'll get the code in writing later, but the gist of it is no torture, cruelty or enslavement."

[Anastasia]

"Acceptable, if provisional and understanding this still allows for mutual withdrawal." Palum agrees.

[Corwin]

"It does, I put that in all my formal contracts," Seira agrees herself. "Now is simply not the best time or place to stop for a signing. I think that it will be best if you were to leave for safety once you've shown me to the safe, and then either made your way to the Cauldron or waited for me to contact you, whichever is more convenient."

[Anastasia]

"Indeed, I can show you to it but nothing else. I have clauses in my contract that are triggered by accepting your offer." Palum merely nods. "This way."

Amaryl listens to all of this and as you go? 'Do you remotely think we can trust him?'

[Corwin]

'The job will involve a healthy dose of self-interest, so I'm willing to wait and see,' Seira responds to her wife, proceeding.

[Anastasia]

'He is a cut above the rest to be unafraid, or skillful enough to hide his fear,' Amaryl remarks back, 'Or supremely self confident.'

[Corwin]

'I like sensible people.'

[Anastasia]

You are taken to a rune covered door, made of solid metal, gray and imposing. "Here. From here on I wish you well," he nods, "And I must excuse myself and prepare certain contingencies. If you excuse me."

[Corwin]

"Let me know when you are freed of these obligations and ready to sign," Seira responds to him, before turning to study the door.

Perception 10 for 84, Spellcraft 10 for 83, I also have Craft/Traps and Disable Device and various knowledges as needed.

The door is trapped. Hundreds and hundreds of copies of the door are packed in the same space, a twisted region of space that abuses it to make a door with nearly unbreakable strength and weight. It's warded against most magic, causing it to roll off of it, though a spell beyond the 9th circle should defeat that protection.

[Corwin]
