Nothing like that, but there's not a ton down in that direction. It's all desert until the reclaimed lands start.

In that case Marie is a go.

She'll teleport down to the mines and explore around as a tiny incorporeal invisible ball.

Explore town during mornings after performances looking for any evidence of Sharran activity - symbols, omens, superstitions. She'll take 10 for 56 on perception and 10 for 56 on knowledge: religion as far as spotting physical signs, and 10 for 56 on sense motive for spotting suspicious people.

Where precisely is she exploring? Inside the mines? Around them? Further afield?

I have no fucking idea what that place is beyond a dot on the map. Is there an actual town around the mines, is it just a big open pit with tents around it, is it a bunch of caves with people living in the caves? Whatever man, we never visited there in B1 or B2 and it never got any description beyond a name and a dot on a map. What do they even mine there? Special fire rocks? Wind rocks? Firewind rocks?

Whatever that dot represents, that's where Marie's looking around. Where people are. Presumably miners and miner-related industries and homes for the people involved in mining and miner-related industries.

It did come up, it was mentioned as mostly being things like mithral and platinum, as well as some gemstones. Let me paste.

The sands here shallowly cover strong bedrocks, where platinums, adamantite and even mithril are mined. However, natural logistics make it quite expensive to do so. A private company runs things with oversight.

It's a small settlement around the mine, mostly focused on the mining and surviving.

Marie wanders a time. Wanders through the sleeping town, through the mines, through all of it. As she does...

It is past midnight. The desert is cold now and you wander up from the mines itself.

You've swept through and found nothing interesting so far, but as you rise? You hear a dog barking somewhere nearby.

There's also a thickly robed man, face hidden, kneeling in the dirt of the dust and sand worn path to the mines.

You could investigate either of those, move beyond the city limits, go home - or even do something else, as you please, but your first sweep hasn't hit gold.

She decides to go see what the dog's barking at. Maybe it smells the undead!

It's an alley leading to a dead end wall. A lean, mangy old hound is here, barking away.
