You begin to brace - but the efreet advance. "Kill them all!" one cries, a squad of twelve, armored with breastplates and carrying black scimitars that burn like coals.

Kaja merely bares his teeth, "Good!" he says, as nearby a fireball lands, glassing the sand nearby, "More souvenirs!"

Kaja's headlong charge is met by th elead efreet. He grins and braces, two scimitars raised - only for a single strike with gemt o shatter both, cutting through them and the efreet's chest to his hips, gushing flames and entrails freed. The genie shatters like broken glass and vanishes, flames spreading on the sand from the assault.

Inspire Courage, +18  morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +18 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.
Destined Strike: +4 to attack and damage rolls, Improved Critical Feat, +15 to threat confirmation.

So everyone gets +22 bonus to attack and damage, Improved Crit, and then +15 to any crit confirms that happen.

I do also have access to both Wish and Miracle, if either of those would also do it.

Planar energies are wild here - surging and throbbing with the portals and efforts to close them. Teleporting closer is probably -highly- hazardous and attempts to stop the portals save for directly on them likely muddled beyond any success. Whatever is being done here, it's on a direct level of the planes themselves.

I feel like there may have been a word or two missing there... so let me see if I can clarify: The only way to stop the portals is to try and do something next to them, but getting near them itself is dangerous? Is that right?

Teleporting near them is dangerous. Merely walking or flying isn't.
