Nephrite

Moore gestures and points at the door!

Let's try antimagic ray, then.

The door is vaporised, the way within revealed. Ahead you can see room full of neatly stacked shelves of jars, each with various things within. Metals, powders, plants, animal parts, fluids and hundreds of other things are here.

It's a rather large room, tall indeed. A 20ft golem of steel is here. As you stand there, the stomach of it ripples open like liquid, revealing a face. An efreet's face, gaunt and annoyed, "Why won't you leave me alone?!"

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

"I was sent here to retrieve you." Moore says, plainly. "I will offer you the same terms I offered your... simulacrum. I guarantee your safety if you surrender to us. Please don't force our hand in this, you already know how persistent we are."

Anastasia

"It's happening no matter what," Cresiel says, "You've stained yourself supporting slavers. How many innocents cry out for justice because of your sins?" Hefting his hammer up, "I bid you, surrender and repent."

The metal flows back, no reply other than the golem stomping forward.

Init.

[13:29] <Nephrite> roll 1d20+40 Moore

[13:29] <Nephrite> roll 1d20+20 Jetina
[13:29] <Penuche> Nephrite invokes Penuche's magic: < 39 > [d20=19]

Assuming the golem is not faster than I am, I will take 10 for 90 on K:A to both identify its type as well as try and suss out if his soul is actually -in- the golem or not, if I can?

Anastasia

> roll 1d20+14
<Penuche> Kotono invokes Penuche's magic: < 30 > [d20=16]

Init is Moore (46) > Jetina (39) > Cresiel (31) > Xandra = Abdel (30)

Open.

It looks to be some sort of liquid metal golem. Iron if you don't miss your guess, but enhanced by this. Likely with more tricks, if the efreet can stay within it safely. An errant memory of Afina's own works - a theory. Golems are animated by spirits bound to them. Maybe the golem lacks a spirit and the person within can control it?

Nephrite

"He's literally inside this thing! Possibly in both mind and body!" Moore shouts to the others. "It looks like it's an iron golem but more powerful, so try lightning!"

Moore flies in and stabs at where the efreet's face was!

He'll fly in, AC is 85 against any AoO.

[13:37] <Nephrite> roll 1d20+34+35

[13:42] <Penuche> Nephrite invokes Penuche's magic: < 77 > [d20=18]

Ironic if you ask me.

Anastasia

When you fly to within 20ft of the golem, movement becomes difficult, slow. Yet you shrug it off, darting in as it lashes you, a great big kick.

> roll 1d20+52 (+4 ???, +3 ???, +1 ???, +1 ???, +1 ???, +2 ???)
<Penuche> Kotono invokes Penuche's magic: < 71 > [d20=19]

Yet you nimbly dodge past it and stab into it - guh! Your weapon's melting, the metal eroding it.

> roll 2d6 damage, bypasses hardness
<Penuche> Kotono invokes Penuche's magic: < 6 > [d6=4,2]

Go ahead and post your weapon's HP after that, would you? Rest depends on that, including description of the damage you did.

Nephrite

I have no idea what my weapon's HP is. Uh, the only description I ever got for it was it was a rapier, so I guess that's 10? So 4, then.

Anastasia

We'll walk through it. Does it mention being made of any particular material? Otherwise, see here: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/exploration.htm#breakingAndEntering

Note the rule that says for each +1 enhancement bonus of the weapon, it's +2 hardness and +10 hit points.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Ah! My apologies.

No, it was never mentioned as being made of anything special. The original description was as follows:

Refrain is a small rapier+2, keen.

In that case, it's a +4 rapier, so it has base 10 hardness and base 2 hp, it's +4 so... that's 18 hardness (that is bypassed) and 42 HP, so with 6 damage that leaves it at 36/42.

EDIT: I lied, the HP is 1 since its' small, so 41. So 35/41

Anastasia

Even melting a bit, your rapier stabs into the golem. As much as anything, the swirling elemental cold seems to slow it slightly, solidify it as...

Jetina.

Nephrite

Jetina will hold for now, in case the golem has a trick up its sleeve or two. Or six. Or whatever.

"Tch, be careful with your weapons! It's capable of melting them! Try cold things!" Moore shouts.
