"It's a good thing my songs bolster your constitution." Moore says with a bit of a smile. "Try and not be -quite- so reckless. Or perhaps I just need to learn more songs to give you more ability to be reckless..."

A shake of his head as Moore looks around the area -- there was an icy wall before, after all.

Looking to see if anything was left by the Balor (Take 10 on Spellcraft for 72 on whatever it is) and if the icy wall is gone or not.

Whatever the balor had is gone, destroyed by its explosion.

The ice walls ahead are beginning to melt.

Getting up with a hand from Jetina, "There's nothing better than facing a foe like that head on. Did you feel it? I think he may have been connected to those elementals or spirits or whatever they were."

[Nephrite]

"Yeah, as soon as he died the rest of them started to disappear too." Moore says. "Perhaps some way of bolstering his power by tethering it to them?" He shakes his head. "Let's see what's beyond these walls, they were probably trying to keep people out of here for a reason."

[Anastasia]

As you go a flickering pulse of green momentarily blots out everything, a light of shadows and darkness, creeping over everything like a momentary miasma.

Xandra takes 10 on K:P.

"Lixer's power, I believe," Xandra announces, "Let us move with haste, others do not wait on our leisure. Moore is correct."

[Nephrite]

Moore nods, moving forward to try and get past the ice wall!

Assuming they can. If not, Cresiel can make a hole or Xandra can, as needed.

[Anastasia]

Ahead are several gaps in the wall, each leading into what looks to be a vast library. It is frozen over. Here there are dozens of them - short, scaly, pale blue creatures, wrinkled and squat. They read books in small clusters, hissing comments back to one another. Great bookshelves loom over it all, floating platforms bringing the creatures to higher shelves. There are piles of books on the floor, two great heaps of them -one much bigger than the other.

Moore nods to Cresiel and whispers, "Can you muster one of your bursts here, before they notice us?"

Basically trying a surprise round for Burst of Glory.

[Anastasia]

Cresiel nods slightly, eyeing them a moment. "They aren't reacting to us," he murmurs, "Or even looking up from their books. Look."

[Nephrite]

"I mean, I can try and just scare all of them away, but I really don't think that's going to work." Moore offers. "Or we could just try and proceed past them and defeat whatever leader is here."

[Anastasia]

"Think a moment," Kaja says, "They didn't hear any of that loud battle with just those walls of ice? I doubt it," he points at them, still no reaction. "They may not be warriors at all."

"I agree, if they don't fight we don't have to kill them," Jetina murmurs, "What are they?"
