Meeting the wanderer

The logistics of it all eat up the rest of the day and...

As I recall, you had evening plans, or at least dreaming ones?

[Iron Dragoon]

Yeah, meeting Shaundakul's rep or whoever it was.

[Anastasia]

A step.

Another step.

Step after step after step.

Onward on and on.

The road is dusty and hot, a summer's sunny warmth beating down on you.

Your traveling companion walks along besides you, his feet kicking up dry dust with every step.

"It was a mismatch," he begins, "They were outclassed top to bottom."

[Iron Dragoon]

"They were, but they still revealed information. Dagon has a following in deep ocean. A think that should be eradicated."

[Anastasia]

Threat, I presume.

"I'm sure more paths will lead towards that," Your companion agrees, "Your own companions continue on their path from it as well - for all paths lead forward."

[Iron Dragoon]

"Every step closer to the horizon and a page in the story.  Shaundakul's happy, then?"

[Anastasia]

"He has no complaints," Is the agreement you get. "Have you decided what you want to do yet?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"A demi-plane seems the the way to go. I haven't found any ways of defending a plane aside from becoming a deity."

[Anastasia]

"Shaundakul informs me the Red Knight offered you one as well," Your companion notes, the gentle step step step of feet on path a backdrop.

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa nods. "She offered sanctuary, yes. I'm not sure what the best option is. A demi-plane of my own would grant me autonomy to do what I need to without dragging a patron into it."

[Anastasia]

A moment at that, "Tell me, does a cleric pray in vain for spells every day?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"No, they don't."

[Anastasia]

"When a mortal dies in service to a deity, do they pass into oblivion or find life with them?" Your companion asks. After a moment, "Deities and those who serve them are linked. There's no shame or failure in accepting help from Shaundakul."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa mulls it over.

"I understand. I'll accept, but there are other who will want to come with me."

[Anastasia]

"I'd hope so," he says, a hint of amusement in his voice, "You'd get lonely otherwise."
