Understood! Then let's see if Kascha can read the book in the past!

"I like gifts!" Seira chirps. "Are you saying that if it can't be reforged beyond a curio I won't be able to use?"

"That's right," Chrona says, "Though you may find it extremely helpful if you ever have to go to the past. You came after the Compact, you lack any reserve of such things."

<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

After a giving the room the same check she gave the previous one, Seira comes over to read the book over Kascha's shoulder.

It's still on your story, Kascha reading up the end sections. "Hmmm. Can going back in time rejuvenate magical items?"

"No, in the same way that going back doesn't replenish your expended spells for the day," Chrona says, "Though there are ways around that with the proper chronomancy."

"I know that divine will can refresh mortal magic, even artifacts in the hands of our chosen servants," Seira muses. "What's the other way?"

"Temporal Recharge. Expensive for a mortal to cast, easy for you. Merely will it," Chrona says.

Seira eagerly casts Temporal Recharge!

It's...right, right in a way that still surprises you as the book is recharged. Kascha immediately begins to read it.

Seira peers over Kascha's shoulder, smiling at Chrona in gratitude.

Idiot DM time: What was your request? I'm having an absolute brain fart for what your second story request was going to be.

My second story request was of Seira and Alicia choosing to go into the ruins and deal with Daa-vid just before they ascended. I gave Kascha a chance of her own, though, so it'd be nice to see two stories after an appropriate temporal recharge.

Thus do Alicia and Seira go into the ruins. The history...grows immediately fuzzy and then dark. Words seem to curl into themselves and change, blossoming out only to change again. After a few moments Kascha shakes her head, "Is it damaged?"

Chrona comes and takes a look, "Ah, this is what happens if you try and chart something intensely powerful. I'm familiar with the situation there, I suspect that the Fairest Star may be beyond this book's ability to understand. Considering what trouble it lead to, it hardly surprises me." Clicking his metallic tongue, "When the divine makes a mess, it's always a big one."

Since it seems Kascha doesn't want to come up with a story of her own, Seira recharges the book again and then decides to see what would've happened if Torm's daughter hadn't been abducted.

And thus, Yemimah rises. Another light joins and you can read a dozen small changes, all for the better. A few more battles one, a stronger Triad. Soon enough it winds on and on, history improving. Before it hazes out entirely, the last lines describe Yemimah heading with Torm to challenge the God-King, at his side for that coming battle.

Kascha reads it all, smiling by the end. "It doesn't say, but I like to think it would have gone better," she says, "Everything's easier when you're supported by someone who cares abut you."

"I do wonder why they're still the Triad after getting another deity, but that's pretty much what I expected," Seira muses. "Alright! One more!" And she decides to start at the aftermath of the God-King subjugation war, where Shar and Selune somehow managed to overcome their differences.
